Hair: He is balding, what hair resides on each side of his head is fading red and blasted backwards, so it looks like a crown around his bald head. He has a bushy beard of the same colour, however the beard is constantly black on the edges and occasionally has glowing embers in it.
Eyes: Light Brown.
Weight: 45 lb.
Height: 3'3".
Appearance
Malzan likes to wear his work clothes. A red lumberjack shirt tucked into a pair of blue pants, held together with two leather straps over his shoulders. These clothes, and sometimes his face, are often smeared with ash or soot. He always wears goggles of somekind, he owns a very large collection of goggles. The largest on Azeroth, according to himself. On rare occasision he can be seen in a red robe, embroidered with gold and sporting a large, red, pointy hat.
Personality
Malzan is an old Gnome. He is eccentric, many call him mad. He has wild mood swings. One second he could be laughing at a joke you told, the other he is scolding you for not being serious enough. He is very interested in history, magic and engineering. A smart, old Gnome with a few quirks and an appitude for remembering little things and forgetting the important matters, pretty much describes him.
History
Malzan was born in Gnomeregan, the son of an engineer father. His mother, left him and his father when Malzan was five, to run away with an explorer. Growing up in his father's workshop, his only dream for the first few years of his life was to be an engineer. Then he got into books. He read history books, plant and wildlife books, anything he could get his hands on.
He read about magic.. Oh, how he wanted to learn the arts of magic. But learning to become an engineer took up most of his time. Oh, he dabbled in it, taking classes, learning from mages of his own race. In the end, he was quite skilled in most of the basic spells, but complicated spellwork was not his thing.
He read alot, sucking up every bit of knowledge during his years as an apprentice to his father. He showed great potential as an engineer, and as the years flew by, he surpassed his father.
His surname, Steamblaster, he recieved when one of his earlier inventions, the Steam Controlled Ore Ripping Entity, or S.C.O.R.E, designed to provide faster means to rip ore from the rocky surfaces, blew up in a cloud of steam. He was called Steamblaster, and surprisingly, he loves that name.
His 'eccentric' behaviour comes mostly from contact with gasses and fumes from various devices.. As his colleagues used to say: "He isn't all there.." Today he is following his dream of inventing all sorts of wacky things, not necessarily to help people, but to show off.
He writes books, some of his earlier work now resides in the Ironforge Library, and suprisingly, his style of writing is -almost- normal.
He lives in Stormwind, working on all sorts of things, his main project these days is the Autocaster, a small remote meant to challenge arcane energy to provide easier casting of spells.
All tests so far have only given Malzan a headache. So, by all means, come visit the old crackpot and ask him about his goggles.. He loves to talk about goggles.. He claims to have designed them all himself, don't believe him.
