Personality

Maegar is an outgoing and optimistic fellow, always finding a way to spark a conversation with someone and always loving a good laugh. Curiosity is another noticeable trait of his, as he always seems to be asking questions are seeking answers. The lad is also very light-hearted and carefree, rarely getting worked up and looking at the bright side of bleak situations. Also a bit ignorant, he gets into a lot of trouble, saying things that are sometimes offensive and being a bit to friendly with other races. He also tends to speak his mind, even if it's disrespectful. His curiosity and need for adventure also get him in over his head. His reliance on partnership holds him back from trying to accomplish anything on his own and from becoming a truly accomplished fighter. His opinions and morals are far from set in stone, making him an easier target for persuasion.

History

Maegar was born into a clan of adventuring dwarves called Clan Battlaxe. They are named so, because since the beginning of the clan, their weapon of choice has been the battle axe. Though their true calling was adventuring through the open world, Clan Battleaxe knew their place. They managed to stay out of the first war, seeing this conflict more between humans and orcs, and did not want to waste any lives of their clan on this effort. As the second war waged on, and the orcs started taking over Stormwind and many other southern human outposts, the dwarves ended up allying themselves with the humans, and along with them, many of Clan Battleaxe joined the fight. Clan Battleaxe made no noteable difference in the outcome of the war, being adventures and not soldiers, the Battleaxes stayed in the low ranks, taking whatever orders were given to them and executing them with the help of other clans. After the war ended, Clan Battleaxe slipped back into their usual ways, none remaining in the military or the military's memories. Too spread apart, Clan Battleaxe ducked out of the battles with the burning legion and have no intentions of joining the fight against the scourge, at least not as one.

When Maegar was born, as with most of the Battleaxe clan, the family sets up home around a dwarven village nearest to an area they wish to start their child off exploring. So, for the next 45 years, they lived in Thelsmar, on the western side of Loch Modan.

An important part of being successful in his travels, was the boys knowledge, so his parents spent the first 45 years teaching Maegar about the world's history, all the different races, factions, beasts, cities, and just about everything else. Around the age of 25, they took him out to get bore meat with them, to test his knowledge of combat, skinning, and gutting. With his family by his side, this was a simple task and they did little hunts like this for the next 20 years.

At age 45, it was finally time for his first journey. After journeying to all the far corners of Loch Modan and Dun Morogh, Maegar and his family decided to spend a good chunk of time in Ironforge, for a different kind of adventure. Being a large city, Maegar could get a first-hand view of all the lessons of the races and the world that his parents had taught him. He quickly learned his place with the night elves, as even smiling at them would put a sour look on their faces, it wasn't too long before he was shooting a sour face back. He had better luck with the gnomes, though, as they were accustomed to living with dwarves and Maegar had seen plenty on his journeys. Maegar quickly found most of these fellows very interesting and amusing, and wouldn't mind adventuring with one of them. Humans were another race Maegar had already encountered before and though he had no problem with them, he didn't find them particularly interesting, either. Though he spent 20 years in Ironforge, he rarely saw any of the Draenei and still has no idea what to make of these fellows.

He was always curious about, and therefore went out of his way to study and interact with, the other races of Azeroths and the paths they take. Though he had already had his fair share of Hunters, Rogues, Paladins, and Priests on previous journeys, this was Maegar's first chance to see the ways of the rest of the world first hand. He was mesmerized at the mages' arcane power, left quite uncomfortable by the ways of the warlocks, and even spotted a few totems left by the mysterious Draenei Shaman. He did not, however, get to experience the ways of the druid's, being a path only taken by night elves, Maegar was never a welcome spectator. Still, with is knowledge of them, he couldn't help, but think that the odd looking bears and cats he occasionally saw to be one of them.

As he mingled with more people of far differing opinions, Maegar's own opinions began to change. Though exploring the world with his family excited him, he could not help but wonder if that's how he should truly spend his entire life. Maegar wanted to see the world through the eyes of more than just that of Clan Battleaxe, he wanted to adventure with the other races. He wanted his experience to be truly enlightening, maybe he would even find a place in the world beyond just adventuring.

So, now at the age of 90, Maegar decided to leave his parents and set out on the underground tram for Stormwind. With an understanding more like that of a citizen of Ironforge and less like that of Battleaxe ancestors, Maegar felt ready for his journey, and more excited than he had ever been in his life. Equipped with basic equipment and provisions, Maegar set off to Stormwind.
