Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Being empathic, Lux has a certain talent for profiling people. She is always observing, and mentally noting what she sees. She rarely forgets a face, but is not too good on names.

She is extremely manipulative, often through being seductive. She is not ashamed to play all her cards, using her wits and feminine appearance to get what she wants.

She has a real problem with trust, bordering to paranoia in some situations. She prefers to keep people at arm's length at all times. Lux is aware that her physique is not valid for face-to-face combat without the use of dirty tricks. She does not fight fair, should she end up in a situation where she has to defend herself. She prefers to avoid direct confrontations, being unsure to have some sort of advantage.

History

Lux grew up as the only girl in a wealthy household. She was spoilt and treated like a little princess, and mostly she acted like one around the house. She had everything she could ever want; Beautiful dresses, her very own pony, and the power to order the help around as she saw fit.

Her best friend was the son of the stable keeper. His name was Daleon, or D, as she'd call him. With him, she would play in the forest for hours, and he would show her how to move around silently and unseen, to get close to the birds and animals there. D was always there when she was sad or bored, and she came to rely on him a great deal while growing up.

As she grew older and entered young adulthood, her father began to change his personality. Where he before seemed content with the life he was leading, he suddenly began to crave more. More riches, more prestige, more power. To her mothers regret, he would be gone for days, meeting with what he called "important people", and creating alliances with these in order to obtain the new goals he'd set in life.

One day, when Lux came back from a day in the forest, she found her father and a stranger in the great hall, talking. As she entered, her father introduced the stranger to her as a Lord of high standing: her future husband.

Lux was petrified. She couldn't believe that her father was giving her away to this stranger, this old man, in order to gain powerful allies. She blankly refused to even talk about it, and ran to her room. Her father followed her there, thundering at her that his word was law, and that she had no say in this. He then left and locked the door. Lux was trapped, and her whole world, as she knew it, was falling apart.

In the night, as she'd cried herself to sleep, she was awakened by D, lifting her off the floor. She told him the cruel fate that's fallen upon her and he made a quick decision, to get her out of the house and away from her father. She packed only a few things, and prepared to leave her old life behind.

D lead her through the forest. As they reached the other side of it, he instructed her to shed her name and become someone else. She could no longer be Luxienne Shal'ra, and Lux L'Shar was born. She said goodbye to him, but only after making him promise that he would come find her again ... soon.

Life on her own was rough. She had never had to get by all alone, and she had no skills to pay for her meals and a warm bed. She was hungry, tired and filthy as she reached the city gates. She tried to ask people for come coins, but without any luck. As the night fell, she desperately tried to steal a purse from an old man, but got caught and thrown in jail for the night.

Awaiting her sentence, crying with despair, a soothing voice from the shadows embraced her. A charismatic elf with a charming smile stepped into the one ray of light in her cell. He asked her kindly why she was so sad, and being the first kind soul she'd met since she left her home, he only had to ask once.

After hearing her story, he offered to teach her the ways of the thief. She spent a few weeks in the tiny cell, but for the poor attempt to steal, she was not regarded in the "armed and dangerous" category and was soon let out with a warning. Returning to her rather hopeless situation, she accepted his offer, as she saw no other way to support herself, and through a period of time, he was her Master. She learned to move unseen, to steal, and to use her femininity to manipulate men into giving her what she wants.

With the fall of the Sunwell, Lux managed to profit from the despair of others. While she was not that attached to her people, she saw no need to participate in the war for any other reason. She regarded the situation as an opportunity, but the withdrawal from the loss of the Sunwell was hovering above her like a dark cloud. It's an itch that needed to be scratched, always present, and it threatened to completely throw off her ability to concentrate or fully dedicate to anything.

As her fellow elves were given a way to quench their thirst with Fel energy, she followed the stream, like cattle lead to the waterhole. She wasn't bothered with the new shade of her eyes. She adapted, like she's had to before.

With the death of her Master she sat her base in Silvermoon, from where she extended her area of expertise to helping others "recover lost items" or "removing nuisances".

For a price, of course.
