Personality

Lilyth is a very calm, thoughtful, listening, understanding Blood Elf, though she is much proud and haughty as well – and as quite the pumped ego -, and is often not a single bit nurturing or caring for others. An avid arcane user, she researches practicability, usefulness, and efficiency in her spells – way over fuzzyness or fancyness. Her life seems to revolve around using the Arcane in better ways and so she restrains her own use of the Magic – especially after the cravings she endured. Always quiet, she is fond of knowledge and will go to great length to explain – often clumsily – every occurrence she finds interesting. While trying her best to avoid drama and battles, she has focused her researches on battle magic, and actually regularly enough throws herself in spars. While officially patriotic and supporting the Horde, she does not shun anyone able of sense – lest the Kal'dorei; and sees her fellow mages as uneducated before the needs to save their Arcane for better needs. Lilyth is overall, a practical, independent person, more devoted on the sensible use of Arcane than on the sensitive abuses of the past, even though it's much more for her overgrown ego than for Azeroth.

History

A Loving Childhood

Lilyth is born 145 years ago in a village nested deep within Eversong Woods. Both parents were avid arcane practitioners, though her father hailed from a family of traders; and both were deeply loving and careful for the young lass.

Her childhood was spent in relative harmony; surrounded by the wonders of Arcane energy it is no wonder she threw herself in the arts of Arcane. She did not excel, for sure; but like every mage offspring, she very often was found with something magical in her hands or on her mind. Mischievous, she was often devising rather odd enchantments and potions serving just as odd purposes; the times she was shunned for turning her fellow classmates into sheep – or oppositely – are most likely countless. She got used to enchanting and alchemy at a young age, and in her young age, was often brought to places like Dalaran to further study the ways of Arcane.

Lilyth matured a dozen years before the First War. As a young, promising adult, the already quite advanced mage – compared to those high elves who favored the bow over Arcane – visited many academies throughout the peaceful world. Not genuinely favoring any school of magic, she grabbed bits of knowledge here and there in a world she eagerly wandered, albeit rather carelessly. Her uses of Arcane were actually quite excentric and her mind was very passionate. She has had two good dozens of Sin'dorei lovers during those years.

Fall of an High Elf

As the First War broke, Lilyth was in Silvermoon. The stories about Fel and about the perverted Orcs began to spill trouble around her. Indeed, she had found the world beautiful and Arcane the purest form of energy that could ever dwell; she had trouble understanding how it could have been so easily corrupted. After the Second War ended and the Orcs were held in detention camps, she began to investigate the matter. This caught up and eventually, the careless Lilyth was already publishing her first book – a book about how to repel Orcs using proper magic. And though her work was quite clumsy and novice, and did not sell good nor reach great influences, it set her on her path. For it came to her that Arcane could be just as destructive, and it occurred the Sundering itself was caused by arcane abuse.

For long years she stayed in Silvermoon, studying the various theories about the Sundering, Arcane, Outland, and much more topics of debates. Her personality itself changed; she became much more sensible, her various experiments ceased, her useless, mana-draining spells no more threatened to backfire – or to fire at all. Her pride calmed, and she became much more thoughtful to a world that, in the end, was not so endless and resilient. But the worst was yet to come.

The Third War. Nowhere else than Silvermoon did this term take so much sense. The weeks leading to the invasion of her city by the Scourge, she had stayed in a basement, writing the final pages of her second book – a lost work about the mana efficiency of Frost based spells, compared to the draining, corrupting Fire and to the raw Arcane. She had heard nothing about the outside world; and until deep during the fight she did not give any attention to the commotion outside. It was only when, her feet shaking with the collapse of nearby buildings and the drilling of the forlorn Dead Scar, she decided to climb the tower, she witnessed the horrors of the attack on Silvermoon. All around her was but Fel-corrupted fire, undeath, betrayal, and hopelessness. She saw Arthas and his troops carving their way and killing even the youngest of children and the weakest of women on his path; and most of all, she saw the sickening, corrupted Arcane all around her. She stayed until her tower, its base completely overwhelmed by fire and undead troops, began to crumble; she gathered all her will into a mage portal, that carried her to safety.

When she woke up, in the rain and the mud, completely naked – but at least she teleported herself in one bit, one could argue, and that's quite a feat – she felt a strange thrill. She couldn't tell how much time had passed, but she felt craving for mana, and this caused a deep trauma in her mind. She, who worked the last years about more efficiently focusing mana, was herself at the mercy of an Arcane addiction case. What she ignored, is that all a destroyed people was suffering her fate; she barely made it to the ruins of Silvermoon, after weeks of wandering in the forests, when she discovered about the truth. She began to ponder about all this Arcane madness, truly understanding where Arcane abuse and mistreatment could eventually lead. Joining the Blood Elves without much resistance, she left all academic life for a few years; time for the Sunwell to be restored. And, seeing how Blood Elves kept addicted to Arcane, she decided to leave the rebuilding Silvermoon altogether.

In Magic and Fame...or so she wishes

"How can Aerith make such blooming flowers without corrupting the flows of magic?"

Since then she wanders the world, boldly entering Kal'dorei lands, going from academy to academy, and usually her longings in life could resume to a couple – develop a new form of Arcane magic, that would combine effectiveness and reason; and enter posterity therefore. Her main settlement in Shattrath - she often teleports there, having learnt the proper spells and energy flows - and she seeks the ultimate guild or organization she could settle into and dreams of her new Arcane ways blossoming, though she had better stay humble – with her clumsiness and lack of proper experience, water will flow before she can ever carve her name in the dusty tomes of gleeful mages. Unless, one day, the Aula Arcanum - which she has been joining - offers her training in Runic magic, the purest form of magi that ever dwells in those lands...
