Korvon was born to a tinkerer and an alchemist. As a child, Kore was intrigued by the professions of his mother and father, wanting to know how mechanics operate as well as being resourceful of his surroundings and so they decided to teach him the basics of alchemy and engineering.

With time moving forward, Korvon grew order; transitioning into his adolescence, he returned home to discover that the entire building was left in ruins. All that was left to stand was a hooded figure. His Uncle. The elf took the boy under his training, teaching him the arts of combat and shadow magic.

As time progresses and his training intensified, Korvon was shaped into a heartless, killing machine. His knowledge over shadow magic has allowed him to quickly vanish and reappear behind his foes, and even recover from injuries at a quicker rate. However, as the professional killer's training neared to an end, his final task was to terminate a family bloodline that had existed to the south of Eversong Woods. After being briefed, the assassin was told that the family had ordered the death of his mother and father.

Now fueled by anger and hatred, Korvon travels south to the his target's home. Upon sneaking in through the second story balcony, Kore located the patron that had resided there, an elf of nobility. Unfortunately, before Korvon could silently kill the noble, he was soon discovered and the two engaged into a ferocious duel. Korvon, with having the intent of killing his opponent, managed to over-power the poor man with brutality and speed. Before the assassin could deliver the final blow, the elf revealed to Korvon a horrible truth: His Uncle had been the one that destroyed the child's home and family. Feeling betrayed and disheartened by the turn of events, Kore spared the Noble's life and return to confront his uncle.

Along the way, Korvon began to feel infuriated. He felt angered by the fact that he was being used to achieve a goal for someone's own. After entering his uncle's home, Kore was ambushed by the very man that trained him. Having been disarmed before he could react, Korvon quickly retreats further into the gloomy home to hide. As he waited, he could hear his uncle's maniacal laughter echo through the hallway. Desperate to escape, Kore sneaks into the scullery. There, he quietly takes a knife from the cutting board in order to protect himself. Suddenly, a hand reaches out from the darkness behind him, taking hold of his shoulder and turning him around. In response, as well as being frighten, Korvon lashes out, managing to cut off the index-finger of his uncle's right hand. Being given some breathing space and time, Korvon finally bolts for the exit, running for as long as he could hear the horribly, ghastly wail of his uncle.

With having nowhere else to go and no family left to take him in, Korvon enlists into the Farstriders. From there on, he suppresses his abilities over shadow magic. During the Scourge invasion, Kore was tasked with defending Silvermoon. As the undead broke through the lines and pushed through the city, Kore watched in horror as the monstrosities slay the people. Knowing that he has no hope in prevailing, Korvon quickly takes shelter with a few survivors, barricading themselves in order to hide from Arthas' minions. A year later after the invasion and the corruption of the Sunwell. A new substitute came to be. Fel. With the intent to stop the symptoms of withdrawal and suffering, Kore quickly comforms. As the result of his choice to consume fel, the elf experiences a mutation that everyone else experienced: His eyes change from blue to green, his hunger and suffering have now since then, vanished.
