This has gotten him into sticky situations many times in the past but he feels strongly that if you can help someone you should. Kiel enjoys a good joke and story, years ago he often enjoyed those in his family telling jokes and simply loving all those he could among his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. A smile is almost always present when he greets people and his kind hearted nature often awards him a kind jest in turn. It is not uncommon for Kiel to see someone struggling with their own issues and in turn offer them his ear, shoulder, or guidance involving whatever troubles them. Kiel does harbor foul feelings towards Warlocks, Dark Casters, and Shadow Priests mostly due to his troubled past. However he tries to not be openly rude to them when in their company should they happen to be around.

History

Kieleron was born into House Sunfire. His Mother and Father cared deeply for their son as should any parent. In the beginning Kiel displayed a great love and fascination for the Arcane Arts and all the different sects that went along with it. His childhood was that of a normal Noble son, he ran with children, laughed, played, and simply loved life as much as a boy could for his understanding of the world in which he lived. When Kiel became of age his Father enrolled him at Silvermoon’s Tower so that he could begin to learn all he could about the arts. The young Magus studied hard crushing every test the senior students and staff put before him, not with sheer force, but with his great understanding and intellect. Kiel was a bright soul and thus this shown through to his classmates and earned him many friends and enemies among his fellow classmates. However there was one who caught his attention in return, her name was Ela. Kiel fell madly in love with her during his time at the Tower, though his affections did not go unnoticed. During this time Kiel’s dearest friend Cristio grew rather fond of the young Ela also. This created great friction between the friends and as graduation neared Cris confessed his love for Ela. Sadly the woman did not share the same feelings as she confessed to loving Kiel. The three grew very distant as Ela and Kiel began to explore their new love and Cris retreated to his estate where he became a shut in.

During their time apart Cris began to delve deeper into the arts trying to find new ways of increasing his prowess to better impress Ela. What Cris stumbled across was something that he did not fully understand. One day while his Father’s guards were out in the court yard something was discovered while trying to install a new well on the property. The guard’s toppled head over heel down, down, down into a deep chasm. Cris’s Father bought the guard’s silence with much coin, for the Father thought perhaps greater rich’s lay bellow. In the coming months Cris along with several guards were given permission to explore the chasm per his Fathers request. Upon entering the dark hole in the earth Cris discovered a shrine, or tomb of sorts, it was adorned with a tiny black box. Peaking Cris’s interest he drew closer to the relic. The box was small enough to fit in his hand yet its weight was great, red runes were etched into all four sides. As he inspected further he discovered the runes appeared to almost slither at the touch. He quickly placed it back on the pedestal and raced to tell his Father. What occurred next was truly odd for the boy. A whisper told him to not mention a word to his Father, that the box was a powerful trapped Magus who could teach him ancient spells that would grant him great gifts to help his people. Cris was alight with glee but he agreed to the box’s proposal. As several more months rolled on Cris grew more distant than ever. The young Noble Lord never left his estate and whispers were growing among the citizens that shadows had slipped into Eversong, shadows that did not belong.

During this time frame Kiel had settled with his young bride to be Ela. He was working late one evening on a speech he would be giving at the Tower on behalf of House Sunfire. The lecture on teleportation and the effects it might have on one’s ethereal self was something he had been working on for nearly an entire year. Ela entered cautiously not wanting to interrupt him if he were working on his showman ship, which is something his Brothers and Sisters all agreed he needed. Kiel ushered her inside as he ceased working. It was then that she spoke of her fears that Cris had grown spiteful of their love. She wished Kiel to make amends with their old friend and invite him to their wedding. Kiel agreed jumping at the idea of having his friend back once more. Ela said that she would ride out to his estate in order to arrange a dinner of sorts for both families to enjoy. The young Magus was pleased at the thought and told her that he would stop out later that evening to help plan after his lecture at the Tower. With loving words the two departed ways with Ela visiting her Mother and Kiel rehearsing with his Brothers.

The morning came early as Ela rode out to the estate, she had planned on spending the day with Cris and his Father talking about their times at the Tower along with finding proper banquet grounds on the property. When she arrived she was not greeted by the gleaming estate that earned Cris’s family a well-known reputation for their deep coin purses. Instead what she found was a near abandoned compound rattled with cobwebs and long dead wild life such as squirrels, and rats that most likely found their way up from the southern shores. A dark robed man ushered her inside after taking her mount to stable. Ela began to fear for Cris. She thought perhaps that these strange robed men were the reason everyone tried to stay clear of the surrounding wood in passing. As she entered the dusty courtyard she saw a stone worked statue not of beauty and grace but of twisted debauchery. Cris stood nearby smiling at Ela. It was not a pleasant smile but one of coming darkness. Meanwhile Kiel gave his speech to the masses and had returned home to celebrate briefly with his family. As night grew near he headed out for Cris’s estate where he would be greeted much the same as Ela had been. Cris met him in the courtyard near the strange statue. Kiel inquired as to the statues make; Cris merely replied it was a gift for his Mentor. That word Mentor caught Kiel’s attention for he could already sense something was terribly wrong but he knew that losing his head would only make things worse. He questioned Cris about the Mentor which drove Cris onto defensive ground, in turn he ordered Kiel be drug down into the crypt that lay on the opposite side of the statue. The robed men wasted no time in subduing Kiel, who tried not to make it look to obvious that he wanted to be captured. Hauling the young Magus down into the dark was rather easy. Once they had reached the stand where the box sat Kiel realized right away that there were foul energies at work, unnatural energies. He pleaded with his old friend so that he might listen to reason but it was too late for Cris. A black sickness had crept into his soul manipulating it and twisting the young man into a fiend for a darker calling. Glancing in the distance Kiel could see two hacked bodies along with ritual bowls and several reagents. The time had come he thought, he’d seen enough. The young Mage called upon his knowledge of the Arcane Arts as he struggled to be free from the men. They were strong but a single burst of arcane might brought them asunder. Cris came next as he lashed out with foul magic the likes Kiel had never seen used before. The two casters volleyed back and forth until finally Kiel out smarted Cris and brought the twisted caster down felling him with flames.

Feeling tired and rather confused Kiel began to hear the call of the cursed box as it whispered his name. The young Magus resisted as long as he could until finally it nearly claimed him. However there came a saving grace in the form of a double edged sword. There it was lying on the offering table near the box slightly covered in blood with a small grip of skin clinging to it. A wedding band, Ela’s wedding band. Kiel felt a fire leap up in him as his mind worked the scenario out of how it came to rest there near the evil cube. With a final desperate act of anger and pain Kiel shattered the black box with a barrage of arcane bolts, though magical artifacts are not without consequence when destroyed. With a violent shudder the earth shook caving inwards upon itself as shadows flame raced outwards from the cube seeking to claim Kiel who had fallen unconscious among the crumbling tomb. His last sight was that of the ceiling giving way and dirt rushing down in a cascade of earth.

Four long weeks followed for House Sunfire as they awaited their gifted Son’s return from the healers where he’d been taken. A travelling woodsman party discovered the crumbled estate and called for the city guards who rushed to search for survivors among the destroyed compound. Kiel was the only one left alive that could be found. Ela’s full body had never been recovered though what they deemed her was laid to rest in the traditions of Silvermoon. Kiel was transported to a healer versed in medical care who nursed him back to full health, though he still limped on rainy days. Once he had returned there was a new beast stirring in his belly, not one of rage and hate but one of focused determination. Kiel had felt darkness and he sought to understand what that darkness was, he needed to know his enemy. There came many long nights that followed buried deep within Silvermoon’s vast libraries within the Tower. His search became a near obsession though it often turned up little in the way of answers. One evening after giving up trying to understand a particular passage Kiel began his long walk back the Sunfire estate where he found at least some peace among those he loved. As he turned up a dark alley he was greeted by a well-dressed elder Magus from the Tower. He wore no hat but his robes were lavish, a vibrant mixture of blues, violets, and black. Kiel turned to leave out the way he entered feeling rather uneasy as though a great pressure weighted on his spirits. Alas he stopped determined to pass through the alley, with a firm foot Kiel took the first step down a path that would forever change the man he was.

The elder Magus spoke, "You, you're the boy from the crypt." It was a statement not a question. Kiel nodded in reply, "Yes..." The Magus nodded, "Why do you spend your time in that library?" It was a blunt question that caught Kiel off guard, "I-... I need answers..." A chuckle came from the Magus, "To every question an answer and to every answer a question. Why do you spend your time in that library?" Kiel began to grow flustered, "I-... Need to know what happened down there." The Magus waved a hand, "Why do you spend your time in that library?" Kiel snarled a bit, "To find it!" There came a second chuckle, "You know what it was, it was nothing... Everything. The tainted gift that threatens the flow." Kiel crossed his arms narrowing his eyes at the Magus who casually began to pace, "Another question, when you find it... What will you do?" The young Elf uncrossed his arms, "I-..." With an extended index finger the Magus drew near, "This next part is important." he said. Kiel tilted his head back a bit from the extended finger, "I would destroy it..." Night had fallen now and the streets were lit by only dashes of light, the Magus drew even closer his voice a hush strained whisper "Would you... Would you face that bleak, dark, malice filled void again?" Kiel looked deep into the Magus's eyes, fear slowly building in his frame. The old Elf’s eyes were odd they seemed to look right through him, piercing to the soul. His mind began to race until a flicker snapped him home again, Family, Love, Ela. It all could’ve been gone had that box been allowed to thrive. The choice was made, though the path uneasy. Giving a nod the young Elf's brow narrowed into a look of determination, he returned a hushed answer "I would." The extended finger lowered as the Magus spoke, "You know Kieleron Sunfire few could brave what you faced in that crypt... There are few who could stand against the taint and turn from it as you did." Kiel's eyes began to go wide, "How do you kno-" Giving a wave the Magus continued, "I had been watching Cris for some time now. That which he possessed was not his to manage. I have also been watching you and the girl Ela." Kiel took a slight step back, "Wha-.." The Magus turned slightly as if to take his leave, "I offer you a choice Kiel, you may come with me now and receive answers... However you should know that if you do danger is surely in your future and death may follow. If you wish to return to your home you may, you will remember nothing of this night." Kiel steadied himself taking a half step forward as if to give his answer. A serious look graced the Magus's face "Think before you act. This choice once made is unable to be undone. There is one, or the other." Kiel stopped looking very puzzled yet in deep thought as to the man's words. Night began to settle in, a few passing Guards waved at the Magus from the streets as they made their rounds, once gone he spoke again "Have you decided?" Kiel took a few deep breaths as his mind set on the crypt and what had happened to both Cris and Ela, "If I can prevent whatever that was from causing more harm I have to try..." With that the Magus nodded, "So be it then. Come with me..."

Kiel followed the strange Magus across the street and further down one of the dark alleys of Silvermoon’s back streets. Once out of sight the Magus motioned for Kiel to come closer, "Say farewell to your home for now Kieleron Sunfire... Your new duties begin now." With a crackling pop the two vanished from the alley. Kiel reappeared high atop a barren snow covered mountain; the cold sent him to his knees as he shivered. Before him stood the Magus stiff and un-phased, "You have been selected from the many to join the few and given the choice. Thus you have chosen this path Kieleron Sunfire of Silvermoon, l hope you are prepared..." As the Magus bellowed out the words a strange aura surrounded him. With vibrant arcane surges that gave way to crackling sparks of energy he revealed his true nature to be that of a Blue Dragon, his frame was massive and presence horrifying. Kiel was awe struck with both admiration and fear. The Dragon spoke, "Your service begins now." As frigid winds howled among the desolate peaks of this mysterious distant mountain range the Blue Dragon spoke with Kieleron informing him of his new duties in a life of service to the Blue Dragon Flight and just what exactly they meant in terms of service towards the overall greater goal of preserving the Arcane flow among Azeroth. Kiel took it all in and was humbled by the overall experience however it took him many months to come to terms with it in the sense of it being real but after being called upon several times by the Flight his conviction was set in stone.

Kieleron would continue his normal duties among the House caring for his Brothers and Sisters as they grew and as they gave birth to children he did his best to guide them and impart his wisdom upon them as Kiel had tried to do throughout his life in all aspects of the family. The Mage dove deep into his studies forging his mind into his greatest weapon. Kiel focused all of his attention into the books, scrolls, and Tomes that he would come to know over the great length that was his life. The reasons for this were that he felt he needed to be at his peak in order to serve the Flight properly, failure in service meant death in his mind for he could not know a Dragons true motive. Other than that he lived a rather "normal" life on the surface attending daily meetings among Silvermoon's elite Noble Houses to discuss land disputes, trade, and investments but underneath he lived a secret life one that he never spoke of to others among his House. Yet they would question his long travels and he would merely joke and jest that he was reading dusty old books somewhere quiet away from all the nonsense. After the fall of the Sunwell and Silvermoon Kiel left in the following months as Fel tainted the city, this cut him deeply to see his people fall so far in following their doomed King that he left never to return again. He would write to his family but he never saw them for nearly eight years, he moved through the Outlands during the fighting as a ghost among the crowd never revealing his true name and never staying with one company for very long. The Mage was there for one reason, to ensure taint was not allowed to thrive further in Azeroth. Kiel began to resurface again during the campaign in Northrend though he remained in the shadows assisting where he could, he moved among the Mages of Dalaran disguised as just another student to the arts. Finally as the Alliance and Horde stormed Ice Crown he stepped into the conflict in order to help assist the Argent Crusade with whom he began working heavily for during this time. Since the fall of Arthas Kiel has returned to the Eastern Kingdoms to join his young niece Reigen and his family once more resuming his former position as advisor while they attempt to aid Silvermoon in restoring the Kingdom to its former glory.
