Personality

Professional and alert, Kathorg places most of his time in books, maps and meetings with Horde military personnel. He prides himself on having a sharp mind, deep cunning and a burning desire to safeguard the people of the Horde.

Much of his weaknesses though come from his loneliness, Kathorg puts space between him and those that may care about him. Kathorg's lack of 'friends' along with having his guard up constantly has formed paranoia at times, causing him to be weary of most that approach him.

He keeps his emotions out of things because he was taught for so long by Murkthralog that he needs to control himself and act with his mind. This though does not mean he is without his heart, he wants more than anything despite what he says, to have a family. But he does no believe this can be achieved during this juncture of his life.

History

Kathorg was born during the First War, and as such he was placed along with thousands of other orcs into internment. It was shortly during that time however an orcish veteran also taken prisoner took it upon himself to raise the orphaned boy once his mother passed.

Murkthralog raised Kathorg alongside his three true sons, Dunthra being the oldest and the twins Uren and Pillig. Once internment was broken, Murkthralog and his sons assisted the Horde in their exodus to Kalimdor and participated in the Third War. Kathorg took to the path that would make him an officer one day, while the other sons spent their time as rank and file soldiers. Once the war came to a close, Kathorg continued his service to the Horde throughout the conflict with Kul’Tiras, a soldier against centaur and quilboar raids, and studying tactica throughout his days.

It was not long though until Kathorg broke off from primary military service to paramilitary service with a friend he made during his time in the military, Jurango Deathstrike. Together they founded the Flameheart Warband, which participated in the events of the Burning Crusade. He only was an advisor to Jurango during this time, but the Flamehearts were deployed quickly under Horde command against the Illidari and Burning Legion straight on the front lines of the war. Jurango and Kathorg assisted Horde forces across the whole of the broken land, earning accolades and honors for their acts of leadership and courage. As the conflict in Outland came to a hap-hazard end, Kathorg sought more, establishing the Bloodsworn Honorguard with a small group of Horde loyalists. After much hard work, Kathorg was granted his command and title as leader of the Bloodsworn Honorguard. With this first action he was paving the way for their efforts to protect the Horde for years to come.

With his father by his side soon after, Kathorg led the Bloodsworn against threats against the Horde in Kalimdor which eventually brought recognition of the Bloodsworn as a true boon to the Horde’s military. It would take many skirmishes and raids by Kathorg's men against the left-over humans for Tiragarde Keep, as well as larger scale operations to quell Quilboar forces throughout Durotar before such recognition was found. The largest tests of Bloodsworn mettle during this time however would the grueling battles across the Barrens and into Desolace to damage the power of the Centaur Khanagates. Going where and when they were needed, Kathorg grew more grizzled as a commander and more determined to root out the threats to the Horde. It was during this time Kathorg's recognition as Warlord of the Bloodsworn Honorguard was given to him. There was no time for celebration, the force soon mobilized against a threat which would drag them through a shadow war back to Outland against Dark Horde agents; this emboldened the Bloodsworn as a whole and prepared them for the dire days ahead.

The cold north called, and Kathorg knew he had to stand at the forefront of the conflict with the Lich King alongside many other commanders. Many good men were lost during the conflict, Kathorg himself brushing with death at the hands of the Scourge during the battles of Icecrown. The Bloodsworn emerged from the war with the Lich King, but they wouldn’t be the same. Many good soldiers were lost, and Kathorg grew grim… He looked ahead now, how could he lead these soldiers against what may come. His advisors, his own father and the shaman Kartu Stormsunder could only warn him to stand vigilant. In his vigil he plunged his resources and time into hunting secret threats to the Horde, he was infuriated at every turn. These shadowy foes were plotting something, and he had to discover their plans, he had to stop them.

He had no idea what was in store for them all.

Kathorg watched as Deathwing burned across the sky of Azeroth with not rage, but a burning heart and mind. The Alliance was causing trouble, but he had much bigger threats to focus on.

Skills and Abilities
