Personality

Karakorum is like many Tauren - spiritual in nature. He worships the Great Earthmother, considering nature to be the greatest gift. If anyone is found to be abusing nature, you can be sure that he will step in and end it - usually with his fists.

Karakorum, like most Bone Crushers, is of one mentality - "less talking, more smashing." However, he has said that in his later life, he will devote his time to more intellectual pursuits, but that is quite a while away.

He considers Orcs to be brothers, revering them for their assistance in the cleansing of Mulgore, also sharing this love towards Trolls. He does not pity Undead, considering them a hideous warping of his beliefs. He is somewhat distrustful of Blood Elves because of their dependence on arcane and fel magics.

He does not have any quarrel towards Humans, Night Elves, Draenei and Worgen, however, he has a deep, severe hate towards Dwarves (and to a lesser extent, Gnomes and Goblins) for their abuse of the earth.

History

A solitary Centaur out scouting for some lone Tauren with his eyes scouring the landscape of Mulgore looked down upon a single nomad camp. Karakorum's parents had set up for the night, with only themselves for company on a hard night. Without letting the two Tauren see him, the lone Centaur rode back to his camp to find some skirmishers to aid him. The Centaurs swooped down toward the couple, but Karakorum's father felt the vibrations of the hooves on the steppe, waking his wife to warn her, although too late. The father quickly mounted his Kodo, and as expected, the Centaurs chased after him. He tried to lose them on the steppe, but they returned to the nomad's camp, taking the chance to sack it. They captured Karakorum's mother, quickly escaping with what little loot they had.

His mother's captor was a member of a small and insignificant band of Centaurs, subservient to a much more powerful clan. Karakorum's mother grew up on the wide, open steppe, and was accustomed to a rich diet of meat and milk offered by the many grazing animals that grew there. But now, she had to adapt to life as a Centaur - even worse, as a Centaur's slave - and had to eat harsher foods, like rats, birds or fish. The clan that stole her were considered scavengers who competed with the wolves to hunt down small animals, and when the opportunity arose, to steal goods and women from the nomads of Mulgore.

Karakorum was born near Midsummer Day, barely surviving birth. He also barely survived childhood - the Centaurs did not find the birth of a new slave to be a pressing concern, and to them, feeding, clothing and caring for this new dreg wasn't important to them. However, after a few years, the Centaurs began to notice that this Tauren was different - his physical form was impressive, even for a young one. Despite still being considered a child, the Centaurs decided to put Karakorum into small fights against animals and sometimes young Centaurs, betting on the winner, winning in some odd instances, which surprised them. After a while, the arrogant Khan of the small clan decided to take Karakorum from his mother, celebrating him as a great capture, which didn't bode well for Karakorum, as the children of the Khan often beated Karakorum. These attacks happened often, once eventually breaking his right horn.

When Karakorum was considered old enough to be ready for battle, the Khan asked some warriors from his tribe to teach him combat. Karakorum, being a Tauren, didn't have high status to them, often shirking the responsibility in favor of other pursuits. What he did learn, however, was valuable. When he was ready, the clan sent him to represent them in a small tournament between a few clans, which was extremely odd - all Centaur clans sent a Centaur, not a Tauren! He fought extremely strong adversaries, most almost besting him, but, by luck, he won, earning the clan he represented some renown and respect. When he returned, his standing with them was somewhat increased, receiving better treatment by some of the Centaur, although the Khan's children still attacked him often.

During a cold night, where most of the Centaurs were warmly asleep, Karakorum awoke his mother, gathering what little they had and, under the veil of the night, sneaking away from the camp. However, he hadn't thought ahead at all, and was out of ideas past escaping. He and his elderly mother wandered the barren steppes, not knowing where to turn. Eventually, a small, friendly nomad band of Tauren known as the Ragestrider tribe picked them up, nursing them back to health. This nomad band would be Karakorum's new home and family, and he pledged allegiance to the tribe. He befriended an elder male of the tribe, an ancient warrior - one, who, in his earlier days, would've easily beaten Karakorum in combat, but was too old for it now - who gave him rudimentary teachings on the path of a Bone Crusher, which the elder warrior had aspired to be in his younger years. Hearing of the exploits of a Bone Crusher, Karakorum was enthralled - and he set it upon himself to learn more about this path. He also became friends with the tribal shaman, revealing his totem animal - the noble Kodo, and what it stands for.

After many years, the Ragestriders met up with the growing Orc and Tauren alliance, and participated in the retaking of Mulgore from the Centaur hordes. He slaughtered a few Centaurs, the creatures that he both hated for enslaving him, but had small respect for keeping him. Eventually, he came across the small encampment of the clan that kept him, feeling emotionally attached to the place. He asked that the soldiers spare them, but they wouldn't. He watched as they killed him, not sure of himself whether to be happy or sad.

When the Tauren had finally retaken Mulgore for themselves and began constructing Thunder Bluff, Karakorum sent his mother to live there, safe with fellow Tauren for once in her life. He finally felt secure about his family - the Tauren were safe, the Ragestriders were safe, and, most importantly, his mother was finally safe. Seeking out the guidance of both Tauren and Orc warriors, he gradually learnt more about the Bone Crushers, and, through years of extensive physical training, was finally accepted into their fold. His dream had been fufilled, and he sent thanks to the elder warrior that introduced him to the Bone Crushers.

Instead of settling down in Thunder Bluff like his mother had, Karakorum decided to continue the old tradition of nomadic life, learning about the life of the Kodo, surviving off of the meat and milk of them. Eventually, he was gripped by wanderlust, and let his Kodo free to roam the rolling green steppe of Mulgore, gathering the supplies that he had and exploring the world, learning of the Darkspear Trolls, the Forsaken, and the Blood Elves - as well as the Dwarves, which he did not find very satisfying. He still wanders, practicing his art where he can, forcing his body to impossible limits.

Sovereign Sturdiness: Karakorum can lift masses many times his weight, thanks to his training.
