History

Kane is a beggar. A homeless, jobless, coin-less human. No money to drink. No money to eat. Living off the scraps of the streets.

Kane doesn't remember much of his childhood other than that he grew up in an orphanage. Shortly after he was born, a man bought a set of flowers for his mother, and told her that she was beautiful, while his father was there. He lost his patience and stabbed the man with a dagger, and then turned on his wife. His father was later sent to Stormwind prison, and beheaded 3 days later. Kane lived in the orphanage for most of his childhood. However, he was kicked out of the orphanage at the age of 12 due to being violent towards the other orphans. He thought he was special, different, better than all the other orphans, and challenged the others to physical fights, and the orphan matrons wouldn't accept that kind of behaviour.Growing up on the streets wasn't easy. He never had any money to buy food. No money to buy clean water. No money to survive. The only way for him to survive was to eat the scraps left on the ground near bakeries and inns, and drink the salty water out of the canals in Stormwind. And that, over the years, has made him sick, severely underweight, and very unhealthy.

Slowly, his luck has been turning around. There is the occasional person who is kind enough to give a coin or 2, and that seems to be becoming more frequent. However, the best bit of luck that struck him was shortly after he turned 26. He had always hoped of having some kind of power. Something to make him different from everyone else. This one particular day, a week after his 26th birthday (11th November), he was trying something different. Rather than just expecting something to happen at the snap of his fingers, he tried focusing all his body energy into his hands. Ofcourse, he was new to this and had no idea how to do it.

He walked to the Mage Tower and asked someone there for help. Ofcourse the first thing they did was drag him down the walkway and throw him out on the grass. He was angry, but didn't feel like starting a fight, so he went to the park instead to try and relax. There, he saw 2 mages practising their magic. He watched as the 2 would create fire and ice with ease. Then he saw one mage in particular focus all of his energy into one strong spell. The slow process gave Kane the chance to analyse how this was done, allowing him to practise. Focusing all his energy into his hands, he attempted something... But he wasn't sure what. He kept practising for hours and hours. Eventually, when the two mages left, one saw him trying to cast a spell and failing. The mage went over to him and whispered in his ear "Clear your mind. Focus your energy to your hands, while imagining yourself creating something with your hands". The mage continued to walk on. Having been told this, he began trying it. Relaxing himself, controlling his energy, and using his mind to imagine himself conjuring a spell, rather than just expecting it to happen. Nothing was happening, until 15 minutes into practising this, he created a spark. Most mages would think that it was nothing, but to him, it was something big. It meant that he had what it takes to become a mage. Being able to conjure flames. He kept practising and practising. To this day he can still only conjure a flame the size of a jet lighter, but he knows that with practise, he will get better, and if he saves as much money as he can, he can pay to have a mage train him in the arts of fire magic...
