History

Jami was born some time after the War of the Three Hammers, raised in an elven society that honored and traded openly with the dwarves. Her family owned a wealthy merchant guild, allowing Jami to live in comfortable luxury growing up. She first pursued academics, primarily humanities such as history and arts. In time, she came to desire a more expansive understanding of the elves' magical affinities and took up sorcery. When the Second War came about, she offered assistance by working with her family's trade routes. It was through this she met the Dwarf sharpshooter Hrodebert Rivermouth, who was serving in the Alliance army. After the war ended, the two of them courted and were wed.

Following her marriage, Jami took up a peaceful, quiet life. While she gained admittance to the magical city of Dalaran, she spent more of her time living in either Quel'Thalas' woods or the mountainous countryside of Khaz Modan. This content and simple living would be broken up, however, by the onset of the Third War. With her husband once again called to arms, Jami went to confer with the Kirin Tor of Dalaran to investigate the Scourge. Hrodebert returned to Jami following the Culling of Stratholme, unable to continue following Arthas's command. Glad to see her husband unharmed, she thought little of the circumstances. Sadly, the time they had together was ruined with news Lordaeron and then Quel'Thalas being destroyed by the hand of the Scourge. The couple barely escaped Dalaran before the Scourge laid waste to it next.

Jami and her husband fled together into the mountains of Khaz Modan as their last bastion. For a while, it seemed to have been the right choice, as the Scourge never came down beyond Lordaeron. However, as time passed following the corruption of the Sunwell, Jami began to feel the effects of arcane starvation. At first she tried to resist the pains, but as time passed, her suffering increased. However, word was soon heard of the reconstruction of Silvermoon following the expedition of the Kael'thas into Outland. Seeing no better options, Jami traveled back to the forests of Quel'Thalas, escorted by her husband. When they reached the city of Silvermoon, though, the truth behind the restoration of the Elven nation was a grim one: Calling themselves the "Blood Elves", they have sated their arcane cravings by consuming the potent fel energies of fallen demons.

Hesitant to undergo such an act, there seemed to be little other choice, and so, with a heavy heart, Jami underwent the transformation from Quel'Dorei to Sin'Dorei. While this action would save her life, it would forever weigh heavily on her heart, and she would only intake as much energy as needed to survive, even if sometimes at the cost of her immediate health. Officially a Blood Elf, she never fully accepted or considered herself a part of their new society. However, her ostracization from the Alliance would become completed in the years that followed: the Blood Elves, already disliked for their allegiance with the Naga and use of Fel magic, would join forces with the Horde in order to reach Outland to find their lost heir, Kael'thas, putting the final nail in the coffin for Blood Elves and the Alliance--and by extension, Jami's relations with them.

It was now too dangerous to stay in the Alliance country of Khaz Modan, so Jami and her husband departed their mountain home. With their woodland home of Quel'thalas now Horde territory, the couple took on a new home on a secluded Arathi coastline. They lived here peacefully as the rest of the world moved on around them. Soon, the Outland war ended, and the Sunwell was revitalized. While this was a step forward to Jami's recovery, the use of Fel has far reaching consequences. She no longer needs it to survive, but the pangs of addiction still flow through her. Furthermore, the magical city of Dalaran was rebuilt and reestablished, and under its new government allows access to both Alliance and Horde, providing safe membership to Jami. Despite these fortunate changes, Jami still feels the scornful glares of the Alliance races, the mistrust of most Horde races, and the fear of what may befall her marriage because of this.
