Skills & Abilities

Even as a trained paladin, Irea excels in actual armed conventional combat and is particularly skilled with bladed weaponry. However, she is not as particularly skilled at using holy spells while in heated combat and has strayed further away from using them because of it.

Appearance

Often adorned in armour, Irea finds it pleasing to think she could be ready to defend others about her in a moment’s notice. Her armour is more than often found in clean condition due to her own nature and mannerisms. She is of average height for a Draenei, has muscular arms, legs, and abdomen.

Personality

Irea is a very prideful individual, never willing to admit when she is exhausted in training, and never willing to share her stress with others. This largely due to her own ambitious nature; she strives to be recognized and noticed for being exceptional in what she does. As such, she puts extra effort in most activities and duties, but feels quite distressed when said activity or duty does not go as planned.

Still, Irea is kind and respectful to everyone she meets, staying true to her staunch belief and practice in the holy light. While some of what she does is justified by her ambitious personality, she has a deep understanding and compassion for other Draenei, friends, and more recently allies.

History

The Draenei were in their exile from Argus when Irea was born aboard the Oshu’gun. Not long before her birth, her father had been slain by the pursuing Burning Legion and thus she never knew him. Her mother and she had a very strong relationship however.

It was not long after her birth that she began being taught the lessons and discourse of the past, how the Draenei had been saved by the Holy Light of Creation and the Naaru. Through the said lessons from the past, Irea grew a deep passion for the Light and its teachings. As she came of age, she began training as a paladin. It was here that she developed her drive to impress others. As such, she was quick to rise in skill and it did impress her trainers. Irea also never openly expressed her frustrations and stresses with others, save for only her mother, and this led her to shut others out of her life often as she focused on the task at hand.

Her theoretical knowledge would not help her when she was faced with a practical situation later. On one of her first real tasks, she had to help in protecting a small group of Draenei on one of the many worlds they visited. It was during this trip that Irea had to fight against an actual enemy, a demon of the Burning Legion. Though, with the help of the other protectors, the demon was defeated, Irea was left in shock from her encounter. For the first time during her training, Irea felt inadequate and pained. She took solace in her mother like she had before, sharing her concerns with her. During this time in her life, Irea began to know the quality of humility though her mother. When her mother was murdered by a demon nearly a century later, Irea vowed to try her best to remember that lesson.

Upon arrival in Draenor millennia later, Irea was a proficient paladin and would spend her time serving to protect other Draenei settlers. She took on the responsibilities of a village guardian and much of her life on Draenor revolved around her duty there. When the Orcs had turned against the Draenei, she had a hard time adjusting to the new threat and was one of the many who fought and fled further away from the onslaught.

The Exodar brought new challenges and she soon felt the great pressure, that the Draenei were now faced with, personally. The future seemed grim to her, as many of the Draenei had been slaughtered, and her own abilities and resolve began to buckle under her slow and gradual loss of hope and optimism. Soon, she lost her will to fight and it was about this time that the Exodar plummeted into the Azeroth.

Irea had survived the crash and the Draenei had survived as well. When the Draenei were greeted by the others of the new world, Irea’s hope had begun to return to her. In her own thoughts, Azeroth was a new hope for the Draenei people who had, even when faced with mass murder, survived and continued to dutifully serve the light against the Burning Legion. She was committed to surviving as well and began to assist other Draenei in picking up the shattered pieces and rebuilding. Later, as the people of Azeroth all bound together to fight the Burning Legion in Draenor, Irea joined the forces and was present in numerous battles in Hellfire in particular. Upon the fall of Illidan, she had decided to stay in Draenor, now called the Outlands.
