Personality

Illael is open and friendly to most people and she always enjoys a good talk. She enjoys people, regardless of their alliance or their race, she will happily sit down with another Sin’Dorei as easily as she would with a Human.

Illael loves her music and has a habit of plucking at her guitar strings when she’s distracted, bored or thinking. She will often play people songs that she has learned at their request, otherwise she generally plays only for herself or to make someone else feel better.

Travelling and storytelling is in her nature as well as caring and compassion, she is outgoing and would rather run through the forest than be stuck inside any day of the week.

History

Illael was born inside Silvermoon to a family that lived comfortably in its walls, it was not a noble family but it wasn’t bad off either, as a result Illael grew up around people that her parents considered ‘real’.

From childhood her mother wanted her to become a priestess but Illael had always had other ideas, she refused training to go and learn to fight instead.

During her time in Silvermoon Illael learned how to hunt in the forest around the city, she grew to love the outdoors, much to her mother’s displeasure and her father’s approval, she taught herself how to shoot with a bow and only later did she receive proper training, even though she felt she did not need it.

Illael eventually began to want to travel, her time outdoors causing her to grow uncomfortable with city life and the confines of the rules and manners that the city required, her mother fought fiercely to try to make her stay but Illael refused saying that she would go mad if she had to spend another moment within the city.

Eventually her mother relented and allowed her father to train her to fight with a weapon other that her bow and when he was satisfied that she could defend herself on the road he let her go.

She left the city, her family and her old life. Traveling the world and learning how to survive off the lands and the beasts she encountered there.

Eventually though she made the trip to Stranglethorn where she met up with a Dwarf and a Human, apparently on the hunt for something big, it took a lot of convincing on Illaels part because they seemed to be reluctant to share whatever reward was being offered, she assured them that she would take none of the reward. She had to promise before they let her join in the hunt, which as it turned out was for a Rare White backed gorilla.

They hunted the beast over the course of an entire season, eventually killing it near the beach using a bomb made by the human and a couple of well placed arrows from illael and the dwarf.

Stranglethorn was where Illael learned to play her Guitar, she was taught by a Human that happened to be going the same was as her, to Dalaran from the Strangthorn, He helped her build her guitar from bones along the way, the Strings were made from some steel wire the human had on him.

The human was the reason Illael eventually came to be a bard, preferring the road and music to fighting, she eventually came to talk with members of other races on the grounds of Dalaran, she realised that maybe they weren’t all bad.

The Human a man she came to consider a friend died when they passed too close to a horde camp and he took and arrow in the neck, despite her self-proclaimed neutral standing she killed the one who had shot the arrow with one of her own, it was the first time she had taken another life outside of hunting, she took it as a lesson.

Her trip to Dalaran was short lived because she could not bring herself to stay in one place for too long, she took it upon herself to see all of Eastern Kingdoms.

She went to the Wetlands and spent some time there hunting Larger animals to hone her skills this included and other large game, She is always carrying some kind of trophy from her travels, whether it’s her bow with feathers on it or her guitar.

She began her return home when she heard news of Arthas’ march towards Silvermoon, she immediately left the camp that she was staying at in the Wetlands and trekked back across it to find a flight master, from there she caught a blimp back and went about riding to Silvermoon on a mount she brought, desperate to get back and have her part in defending her old home.

Illael lost her parents in Arthas’ attack on Silvermoon, they both died fighting, Illael felt she may have suffered the same fate had she not only arrived after the battle, the fact that she missed the fight and had not been there to defend her races city hurt her deeply and compelled her to stay and help rebuild and care for survivors.

As a result she was there when the magister came and showed them how to absorb Fel power, this was when Illael made the transition from High Elf to Blood Elf; this time right along the rest of her kin.

Illeal was not pleased with the idea of absorbing demonic energy, but being a survivor she waished to live and so she learned to feed, though she resists the urge too feed too oten, fearing becoming too addicted, like some of her kind, who are known as the Wretched.

Illael felt the city held nothing more for her after her parents death and her transition into Blood elf, so she resumed the travels wanting to get back into the forests and away from her old city.

This is when she met Astore a young Tiger cub who’s parents had been killed in hunters traps, she gently convinced him that she meant him no harm and took him on as her responsibility.

He turned out to be an invaluable ally for her, he saved her life numerous times from unseen predators and the odd bandit that caught her unawares. She loves him deeply and sees the Tiger as family, not just an animal.
