History

Henry Samson was born in Stormwind prior to the First War. He was the son of a guardsman and his tailor wife. Henry doesn't remember much about his life in Stormwind before the war, probably because he was only six years old when the orcs destroyed it.

His parents fled with him to Lordaeron along with the other refugees. His father rented a small apartment in Capital City and enlisted in the army there, while his wife started a small tailoring business.

Henry's father started teaching him combat when Henry was quite young. Everyday they would spar with various weapons and Henry discovered his natural affinity for daggers and swords. He was a teenager during the Second War and his father died in the field.

Sick of the city life, Henry joined a mercenary group when he was 18 years old, traveling accross the Eastern Kingdoms. They fought remnants of orcs and trolls, bandits and criminals and then pirates. All Henry needed was one week at sea while his band fought off a group of pirates and he fell in love.

He dropped out of the mercenary group and traveled to Booty Bay, where he got a job on a ship as a marine. The crew of the Buckland's Honour was a strange bunch. Her captain, Theodore Buckland was a mercenary at sea, and he sailed his ship all over the world, fighting off pirates and other nasty things.

Henry served aboard the Buckland's Honour for many years, he even fell in love on that ship. The cook was a lovely young lass named Lisa Silverman. They fell in love and after a year of sharing each others cots and being infuriatingly lovey-dovey, they asked Captain Buckland to marry them. The old sea-dog was more than happy to oblige and after a glorious ( not really ) ceremony they were wed. The crew celebrated for two days straight.

But happiness did not last forever. The Scourge attacked Alliance lands and duty called the crew of the Buckland's Honour to head for Lordaeron. There Henry faced horrors he had never even imagined. The crew did not last long fighting on land, and so they weighed anchor and set sail for the South Seas once more, leaving the now Scourge-infested Lordaeron behind.

Not long after that Lisa gave everyone that news that she was pregnant. Once again there was much rejoicing, but for Henry and Lisa there was a difficult decision to be made. Lisa did not want to raise a child aboard the ship, she wanted to move to Stormwind and settle down. Henry was definitaly not ready to become a mild-mannered family man, he insisted that raising the child to their lifestyle wouldn't be so bad.

Eventually Lisa agreed, and the child was born at sea. Captain Buckland agreed to always take his fights to shore, so the child would not be in danger. But after nine months of no trouble, things went bad. A crew of pirates the Captain Buckland and his men had run out of the South Seas was looking for revenge. They caught the Buckland's Honour by surprise and attacked the ship with cannons.

Henry fought harder than ever before, and Captain Buckland had to drag him away from the ship to the row boats. The sleeping quarters had been hit byt cannons, the whole thing broke away from the ship and sank, with his wife and child inside. Of the whole crew only Henry, Captain Buckland and the cabin boy survived. The cabin boy was a young lad named Jonas Harrington, he was only sixteen years old.

The group made it to Booty Bay, and there they stayed. Captain Buckland, already quite old, cracked after loosing his ship and crew. The cabin boy found work int he Bay as an errand boy for the various merchants around town. Henry just spent his time in pubs, mourning his wife and son and drowning himself in alcohol. When he wasn't drinking he was gambling or fighting for money to try and pay off his debts at the local pub.

But after a while he had an epiphany of sorts. He didn't want to sit around and feel sorry for himself anymore. So he scrounged up enough cash for leather armor and a sword and he traveled to Ratchet. There he became an adventurer, seeking to aid people. He went to Northrend to fight the Scourge recently, and has only just returned. Already he is seeking new allies to fight alongside, preferrably in Northrend. But what no one knows, is that his mission isn't to help people. He fights so much, because he hopes that he is able to die in combat so he can see his family again. He is just to weak to do it himself.
