Appearance

Hegnar is a practical, hard working fellow, and this reflects in his clothing - From toes to waist, he dresses in thick, durable and usually brown leather. The weight of it all is held up by a pair of suspenders, that rest firmly over a thick, linen shirt with some sort of square-pattern that fits neatly into his general color-scheme. Over his left eye rests an eyepatch that, for some reason, is made of the same, thick leather as his boots. The whole construction has clearly gone trough alot, with the owner inside, but it is equally clear that it's constantly been washed and sown together by a rather skilled handiworker. For that reason it doesn't look worn-out in the way of an old sock ready for the garbage-bin, but more in the way of an antique desk that'll still be fine for usage in a hundred years time.

Personality

Hegnar's old. He's in the know, atleast as far as important things are concerned, and as far as Hegnar's concerned, what's important is what's related to lumber. And Lumber, that's not just ordinary wood chopped down by the average Joe - Lumber, that's trees cut down with a craftmans skill and care, according to the ancient traditions still being upheld by the more experienced lumberjacks.

Apart from that, Hegnar is in many ways an epitome of Lumberjacks all over Azeroth - He's hard-working, and puts great pride in it. He's experienced, and puts great pride in telling as many people as possible. He's slightly violent, enjoys a drink, and has the kind of robust humour and peculiar language that's likely to develop when you put thirty bearded dwarves and burly humans in a forest miles away from the closest village, and tell them to cut down trees for weeks on end. Understandably, he's also got the temper that often comes with living under that kind of conditions, especially after a few pints.

In addition, Hegnar's also got quite a bit of the superstition that often follows the oldest Lumberjacks in the trade - In a business where you have to be on constant watch for monsters roaming the wilds, falling trees along with a gang of annoyed and burly people armed with huge axes, a pattern will emerge that, when put under the scrunity of a barroom, resembles closely to truth. The result is a net of beliefs and customs that makes little sense to an outsider, but means a great deal to the Lumberjacks that's survived a rampaging wendigo in the Camp trough a series of accidents and coincidences that, per usual custom, looked like some sort of divine intervention over a few drinks.

History

Born in the Pine Forests of Loch Modan, his father was a Lumberjack, his Grandfather was a Lumberjack, and presumably his Great Grandfather as well had anybody in the Oakfist Clan had the wit to carve the family-tree in stone rather than wood. But then again, that sort of thing came with being an old and respectable clan of lumberjacks - You laughed of ordinary woodcutters, you smiled sarcastic smiles at Carpenters, and chuckled over ordinary dwarves that couldn't really see the big deal with cutting down a bunch of greenery.

Having been told about why it was such a Big Deal since long before he was able to understand a word of it, Hegnar grew up to be a quite sterling Lumberjack, something that would presumably have brought his Father much hapiness during his elder days, had he not perished under an unusally determined Oak right after Hegnar had went out in the world to prove himself and, as it were, chop down trees.

Falling in with what a Lumberjack would consider the Right sort of Crowd quite early on, Hegnar worked in a wide variety of Lumber Camps around Khaz Modan, eventually moving southwards for some well-paid jobs that were being offered in the Elwynn Forest. It was here that he ran into the Royal Lumberjacks Union that, asides from ordinary work, took quite alot of jobs from the Crown at the time.

Together with the Union, he got to participate in clearing exotic forests, see foreign lands and see fellow Lumberjacks get maimed or snuff it in a wide variety of ways that came along with the profession. While this constant risk eventually would reduce the Union to a quite small bunch of hardy workers, he and the other veterans kept alive trough the harshest winters, the wettest swamps and the most rabid creatures that would venture trough their camps at night.

Still being in the business, and still eager to show the young lads a trick or two, Hegnar is certain that there is still alot to see, and alot of wood to work with, before he's hauled off for the Celestial Sawmill.
