She's very unsure of herself, believing wholly int he power of Elune, and thinks that everyone knows about her insecurities. She finds comfort in singing and player her flute, which calms her, if she's nervous and if she's afraid. When faced with a fight, she'll change her mindset from nervous to calm and collected. However, she doesn't have the bones to kill a being who can think for itself and often finds herself hurt more often than hurting.

History: Haylianna was born in a small village in Ashenvale Forest. She lived with her loving mother and father, who were the leaders of the village. Haylianna grew up being treated like a lady and always taught to be polite and nice. However, Haylianna didn't want to be a lady, she wanted to travel the world and fight 'bad guys'. Her parents disapproved of that, saying that the world was too dangerous for her to voyage peacefully. One night, Haylianna ran away into the forest.

She was only gone for a couple of days, before she got too scared and headed home. But when she returned home, the village was in ruins. She looked around at the ruins of the buildings, which brought her to tears. She couldn't bear that the last thing she did was run away and leave the village to this fate. As she sat crying in the village, a man happened to be walking by and found her. Stryfium Moonray, a hunter brought her to his home and adopted her as his daughter.

Stryfium began to teach Haylianna how to fight. He would always say that, it was a dangerous world and you needed to learn how to defend yourself. He figured that to cheer her up, he would give her a gift. He found the nicest wood he could (found on the ground and not ripped from a tree) and his trusty knife and carved a beautiful flute for her. She took it and taught herself to play, and whenever she got angry or sad, she would play it to calm herself.

She lived with him for a few hundred years, until Stryfium became sick. Haylianna returned from her daily workout to find him unconscious on the ground. She brought him to his bed and left him there to sleep. When he awoke, he told her that he is and always was sick. The disease that was eating away at his strength, was one he had earned from the war of the Ancients, many thousands of years ago and it was finally catching up to him. He managed to keep himself from dying through the use of various elixirs. He was going to die. Haylianna refused to let him die, he took her in and helped her. She owed him her life and told him that she would find something. Searching through every herb in Ashenvale, she could never find the one to help Stryfium. She asked herbalists and priestesses to aid him, but none had the power to cure him. He died, peacefully, in his sleep.

When the priestesses came, they offered to take her to a new home in the temple near her old village but she was reluctant to go. She wanted to stay in the house, but they thought that she wouldn't be able to let go of the past if she stayed and, in the end, managed to convince her to go with them. For a while, Haylianna became depressed. The temple was most of what she saw. She found it beautiful, but was angry at how Elune had left her alone in the world. Stryfium had shown her that there was always a bright side, but here, there seemed none. She spent a lot of time continuing her physical training, until she was approached by a priestess. She offered a warm hand to the young elf and thought she would make an excellent priestess. Deciding that, it might be something worthwhile, she went under an apprenticeship with the woman. Knowing what emotional pain was like, she had a knack for healing all wounds and learned to love Elune. She soon became a full-fledged priestess of Elune.

When the Orcs invaded the forest, she stood in the back, healing those who were wounded and blessing those who were heading out into battle. She continued this service into the Third War when the Legion returned. After surviving the war and joining the Alliance, she spent the next few years exploring the world, helping where she could.

Never heading into the opened portal, nor the cold North, she spent most of her time in Stormwind reading about the humans and their strange ways.
