History

Born during the Rise of the Horde, Gul'rag had a tough life since the beginning. It looked to him that since the very moment he left the womb of his mother, he was thrown into the fray, used to fuel the giant war machine that the Horde was, along with many other young orcs of his time.

He was magically aged with the aid of fel in order to be ready for combat as soon as possible, and trained in warlockery during the First War. Gul'rag learned fast. Soon, he was a proud member of the Stormreaver clan and Initiate of the Shadow Council. The day of his first battle came, and he greeted it warmly.

A group of human spies had been spotted nearby, and thus he was sent with a group to put an end to them. Unfortunately for Gul'rag, the humans had a conjurer in their ranks. In the middle of the fight, a spell struck Gul'rag's chest, marking him for life and earning him his name. That did not stop him. He finished the conjurer's life. Their mission was completed.

At the end of the First War, though, something happened. Orgrim Doomhammer rose to the position of Warchief, and ordered the death of most of the Shadow Council. Warlockery was never the same. That Warchief did not trust Gul'dan and his kind. But he kept fighting for the Horde, hoping that this would change one day.

The Second War came. Gul'rag kept serving as a loyal member of the Stormreaver clan. He did what he was told to do. Until the great day came. Gul'dan learned of a place that would hold immense powers. It was told that the remains of Sargeras himself were hidden inside the Tomb. Gul'rag followed the rest of the Stormreaver clan and the Twillight's Hammer clan as they journeyed toward the Broken Isles. But Orgrim soon found out about Gul'dan's treachery. The Blackrock clan was sent to slaughter the deserters.

Happily for Gul'rag, he managed to escape. He hid in one of the Blackrock's ships, and as they reapproached the continent, he jumped off the ship and swam away. After that, he would wander the lands alone, hunting and robbing to survive.

When the orcs started to be hunted and put in internment camps, Gul'rag hid away in the south side of the continent. There, he spent many years. After the orcs were finally freed, they did not embrace warlockery as they did anymore. They had returned to their shamanistic traditions. Gul'rag could not return to the orcish society. He would be treated as filth by the others. Thus, he kept on with his criminal life.

Recently, Gul'rag came across a group of bandits that hide in Duskwood. He joined them, seeking to use them to enrich himself. As long as they serve his objectives, he will stay with them. And for now, they're being helpful enough.
