The Mistwalker Tribe

--HISTORY--

The Mistwalker Tribe finds its origins back at the Battle of Mount Hyjal, as a nomadic tribe formed amongst the formation of the Horde, pulling most their numbers from those dissenting to having their traditions altered by the orcs. The Mistwalker were not rebellious to the orcs, but instead avoided any of their authority, preferring to wander through Kalimdor as not to be watched by any of the Horde's overseers.

The tribe underwent multiple changes as it's leadership traded hands; The first Tribal leader was in the form of Rukfi the Thief, who was said to have stolen the seat of power through his own trickery. Under the thief the tribe often harbored bandits, and frequently made it a habit of profiteering off wanderers. Rukfi was crafty, but not at all trustworthy, and eventually was usurped by the tribe itself by...

The second tribal chief, Mar'gun the Raider. While a vicious combatant Mar'gun was by no means patient, or very bright in the way of strategy. Mar'gun is effectively only remembered for his first and last raid on a Night Elven caravan, which happened to be composed of a battalion escorting a Glaive Thrower. Mar'gun was given the title Mar'gun the Legless upon burial.

The tribal leadership traded hands all through the third war and the Lich King's ascent until it found some stability in the wisdom of Elder Juka, a shaman and alchemist of the tribe. While Juka managed to hold together the tribe there was still much discord, many members seeking their own place in the tribal leadership.

Around this time, though, Juka was able to divert his new populous in the way of battle; Around this time word of the Blood God Hakkar had reached the Horde lands. With news of this the Mistwalkers were brought into the fold of the Horde, led into the conflict on their new chieftain's will.

In many ways, the involvement against the Gurubashi was what solidified the tribe. It was at this time that it became inadvertently purged of its warlike and power hungry members, most having died seeking glory on the battlefield. As well the tribe experienced an awakening of knowledge, of sorts, from the prolonged contact the with Zandalar tribe, which was the driving force against the Blood God.

After the Blood God's defeat the tribe remained nomadic for a time. They largely sought out other tribes, looking to learn from them. Consistently from all accounts of Trollish history they found that it was, as the Zandalar said, the Troll's eagerness for war which had drove many of their great empires to extinction or ruin. The Gurubashi, the Sandfury, the Amani, and later the Drakkari all had gone from greatness to destruction.

The Mistwalkers for a time occupied a tract of land within Azshara Crater, for a period ending their nomadic ways in favor of a stable settlement and life. Their presence was gone as expeditions against the Lich King went to Northrend, though, as the Zandalar went as well to chronicle the end of yet another Troll empire.

Now that the war in Northrend has come to an end the Mistwalkers have returned along with other veterans, and have come back to their previous village in Azshara Crater, weary from the exploits in the North.

-THE VILLAGE-

The Mistwalker Village is situated outside of the Leafwind gates, above the Earthshaker Arena in the Azshara Crater. The village is divided into two main areas; The Mistwalker Village and the Mistwalker Caverns. The village is the area inhabited by most of the tribesmen, and also contains the village's blacksmith, bakery, and trading post.

The Mistwalker Caverns serves as the home of yet more trolls, notably the village elders and many oracles. Common tribesmen also inhabit this area. The cavern holds the Mistwalker Hot Spring as well.

--TRIBAL POLICIES--

Tribal policies of the Mistwalker are largely influenced off of the Darkspear and Zandalar. Their main interest has been one of coexistence to their neighbors in the crater, willing to bend where needed in order to keep their allies at ease. Amongst these are:

-Acceptance of all who visit the Crater, regardless of faction. To the protest of some of the elderly villagers, this does include Elves.

-Banning of all dark magic; Necromancy, Warlockery, and the darker aspects of Troll Voodoo.

-General respect of the authority held on the lands of the other factions of the Crater.

-Respect to all of the elements of the Crater.

-Gender equality.

-Banning of slavery.

In general Mistwalkers value wisdom over brute strength, as well. They also hold the element of water in highest regard for it's life giving properties, as displayed by their altars and numerous fountains.

Mistwalkers also employee a form of engineering to make such fountains work, but these are less of steam and metal and more likened to those the Tauren use.

The Mistwalkers worship the traditional Troll loa of the Shadowhunters, but namely Lukou above the rest. Voodoo is practiced by few, and they are held in check by the elders of the village.

Mistwalkers maintain a law of tolerance regarding outsiders and other races, but this can only be pushed so far. It is understood that racial troubles cannot just disappear, and that old hatreds will still be kept. Mistwalker Trolls may indeed show a distaste for others (usually elves, usually from older villagers), but such outsiders are protected from any harm providing they do nothing unlawful to draw the ire of the guards of the Crater.

--RANKS--

Chieftain

The Chieftain is the leader of the Mistwalker people. He makes decisions for the tribe as a whole, and is advised by a council to help maintain the will of the people in his work. This position is filled by Juka'jin.

Elder

The Council of Elders are the advisers to the Chieftain, and are tribesmen distinguished by their great wisdom. Most are oracles, though occasionally a warrior is called upon to advise as an elder during times of conflict. Most elders live within the Mistwalker Caverns.

Champion

Champions are tribesmen of merit from any walk of life, be it a great warrior or a masterful craftsman within the village. Champions often represent their rank of the tribe, and are usually the ones in charge of their caste.

Oracle

Oracles are the tribesmen attuned to the works of magic; They are healers, elementalists, and enchanters. Oracles maintain the flow of water in the fountains, aid craftsmen, and occasionally are called upon to fix one of the stone guardians of the village with their spells. Oracles are the tribal healers, as well.

Stalker

The stalkers are tribesmen of agility and with prowess of tracking. They hunt for the tribe, scout any incidents of interest outside of the Crater, and ensure the safety of the trails outside of the village.

Warrior

Warriors are tribesmen of strength. They usually frequent the Earthshaker Arena below, and serve as guards within the village.

Villager

The villagers are the backbone of the tribe. They are the craftsmen, farmers and merchants, and largely whatever else may be constituted as civilian work. Most do not claim any fighting prowess.

--RULES--

-IC-

-Keep to the tribe's traditions. The Mistwalkers reject the more savage practices of the Gurubashi and other fallen Troll empires, and do not wish to be exemplified with by the ways of these tribes. -Know your place; Tribal life is relaxed, but when authority is shown, respect it. -Respect the neighboring villages and their authorities. -It is true that the Mistwalkers are somewhat Horde partial, but they are a neutral faction out of interests of peace. In the event a Mistwalker involves himself in a conflict of factions then their actions are solely their own. They should not expect any aid in the form of troops, unless the chief himself gives the mission his blessing.

Any infraction of the law will be dealt with as seen fit by the elders or the chief.

-OOC-

-As stated, if your in the guild and start a fight outside of the crater, your on your own. -If you intend to play one of these trolls, please pay attention to how they act, as stated in the policies.

-OTHER-

Right then, this should be said quick; As with the other groups in Azshara Crater the Mistwalkers are going to be pretty selective in who joins them. Odds are, if I do not know you well you will not get the invite, and this is mostly to avoid any issues with trust or such. Nothing personal.
