Personality

Edward is respectful and courteous, as any gentleman should be at his best behavior. He prefers a business relationship to a personal one, and is very strict on who he allows the latter. He has a decisive, shifting, multi-tasking brain that allows him to deal with many problems and perform under times of stress exceptionally well, along with allowing him to act quickly, with conviction. He is a modest human supremist, but tolerant of Alliance members. His disgust for any race Horde-affiliated is deep-seeded, naturally sewn with a Westfall upbringing. A bit on the eccentric side, he is very long-winded and an able oralist with enough education to qualify his long speeches as just that, and not incoherent rambling. He's observent, deductive, and intuitive from natural ability and years of work that required he be so.

History

Born in Elwynn, raised until age six in Redridge, taught all he knows within Westfall borders, and brought through manhood in Theramore Isle, Edward is used to travel and varied culture. His mother was a seamstress and his father a cobbler, with neither very much skill in their profession. When money became tight, and the food near scarce, Edwina and Geoff sent Edward to his Uncle Bogden's and Aunt Eleaner's farmhouse deep inside Westfall to live with them and his cousin, Rogden, and unborn child Hogden (unfortunately, he was never born due to miscarriage - The –ogden legacy was no more). He helped harvest the barley and feed the swine in exchange for food and kindness, and was home schooled by a tutor as a bonus – something his parents never would have been able to afford. The Defias tried to recruit him soon, coming around the farm and causing trouble. There was nothing he could do to ward them off. He was afraid of what they'd do if he said no, but neither did he want to join.

He was almost seventeen. Eventually, he moved to Theramore in hopes of finding a well-paying job to send home to his parents. And escape the attention of the Defias Brotherhood. He soon applied himself to a well off career in construction, along with part time guard duty. His intelligence was duly recognized, and he was promoted to Sergeant after an impressive year of work, residing over his own unit of guards (The former Sergeant having been killed in a nasty incident with murlocs. An open casket was not an option). He was the youngest person ever to be appointed to the position at Eighteen. Of course, many of the men were ten or more years older than him, so he had little commanding power beyond what was expected as per obedience. He resided in this form of life for three more years. At age twenty-one he was promoted to Detective, where he found his passion. His guard work payed well enough that he was able to quit his job in construction and focus purely on his military career. He loved his job now. It was like solving a grand, elaborate puzzle every week of his life, and the local crime rate stooped impressively under his brilliant mind.

Eventually, however, he grew tired of leading a military life. He was restricted, was reduced to a room with a desk more often than not. After months of deliberation, he collected his funds, said goodbye to the friends he'd accumulated in Theramore, and left with his best belongings and money to his home region. He arrived then in Westfall, turning to free-lance investigating. He bobbed in and out of the Elwynn and Redridge regions, taking private-eye jobs where he could. He loved it, however little it payed to keep him housed, clothed, and fed. After some years, he opened his own business in Stormwind at twenty-nine. Grimwood Detective Agency. His parents had improved in trade, and were making money for themselves now. He now runs his agency with a respectable reputation and impressive budget, solving local mysteries and crimes put to him by citizen and guard alike.

All good things must come to an end, however. The fickle people of the Stormwind Kingdom turned on him, unforgiving in their disinterest in his work. He began to lose money - slowly at first. The people cared not, and disregarded him further. Many began questioning the necessity of his work, and turned their noses up at him. The work he did get was no better than finding a child who had been hopelessly missing for years on end. He couldn't work a cold case. He hadn't the time. He needed money, and quickly. Then he had received a letter about a scullery maid in Ratchet. Missing. Gold.

Needless to say, he sailed right away. While in Ratchet, however, he met with Annabelle - Miss Greene-, his old friend from Westfall. He learned of her heroic efforts against the discordant denizens of the world, and joined her affiliation in hopes of making a difference. He would make the world a better place, publicity be damned. Elwynn be damned. Things were set on a larger scale these days, and he had to move up.
