Personality

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Glyndin is a very calm individual. His monk-like existence has taught him patience, as have his many years. Regardless of his age, Glyndin is strong of mind, will and body. He loves his people (sans Wildhammer and Dark Irons), and loves the Alliance. He is not against helping some members of the Horde, but would never go out of his way for a kind deed. Orcs hold a special spot in his heart, one seething with rage for their misdeeds and abuse of magical power. He views both Blood and High Elves as too snobby for their own good, and believes Night Elves to be too tied into their own little world, with another one just beyond their grasp. He feels deeply sorry for the suffering of the Forsaken, but would not come in contact with one unless necessary. He considers humans young and rash, but a hardy people nonetheless. He views Wildhammer and Dark Iron Dwarves with extreme disdain, having been a part of the War of the Three Hammers himself. All of this being said, he is not adverse to helping others if they absolutely need it.

History

Born in the years before the War of the Three Hammers to members of the Bronzebeard Clan, Glyndin lived in a world of peace, although the air was highly tense. He lived within the great city of Ironforge, where his people had lived for hundreds of years prior to even that. He was raised on the belief of one's own self-worth and the ability to take pride in one's heritage and deeds.

When High King Anvilmar died, the great kingdom fractured, and an immense war broke out. All able-bodied men of any age old enough to fight were armed and armored and sent off to fight and die for their people. Among these was Glyndin, not even a proven adult by that time. Never the strongest lad, Glyndin did his best to survive where so many did not. He came out of the war victorious, but with many scars, both physical and mental. He felt an immense, unshakable hatred toward his former kinsmen, the Dark Iron and Wildhammer Clan Dwarves, for what he saw as their instigation of war.

As time went on, Glyndin became somewhat of a monk, believing the inner strength of himself could be used to help others. He honed his willpower and mental dexterity as he sought greater enlightenment through his inner self, and he used his newfound gifts to help others via healing, counseling and other menial but needed tasks. From his self-searching, though, Glyndin found that there was both a fire burning within and a vast emptiness, one he thought could not exist without the other. He sought desperately to discover the source of his emptiness, but to no avail for many years. He eked out a monk-like existence for many long years, making trips between the mountains of Dun Morogh and Ironforge monthly for supplies before retreating to his small, hand-built home in the mountains to reflect on himself and meditate.

When the ancient Titan ruins scattered across the world were discovered, many of Glyndin's belifs about himself and his people were shattered. He never had a sense of his people's origins but, with the discovery of the Dwarves' Titan heritage, came to understand the fire he found within himself. He signed up with the Explorers' League when it was formally created to explore his heritage, as he felt it filled the hole he had felt for many years in his heart. He traveled to various sites for many years, detailing his findings and his personal revelations along the way. He found his beliefs and his previous abilities restored soon after he left to journey, with the incorporation of his Titan spark and heritage into his being.

After an extended period traveling, Glyndin settled down among the ruins buried in the Badlands for some time. While there he meditated, reflecting on his findings over his life and reforging his view of himself and his people. During his meditation, he felt himself change, albeit slowly. By the end of a week-long period of restless meditation, Glyndin left the ruins to return to Ironforge a changed Dwarf. He found himself more attuned with the stonework around himself and, as he worked with his current findings, he learned to "speak" to the stone. He found himself able to learn from it who had been there, whether a surface was stable or not, could detect false walls and sliding stone doors, and check for differences in stonework. He found himself able to, with time and effort, draw upon his stoneform to a greater extent, creating himself out of solid iron, with a stance as unshakable as his belief in himself and his heritage.

Glyndin has since retired from the world of exploring and returned to his monk-style of life, living again deep in the mountains with his current faithful companion, Sammy. He still journeys down, although more often now than before.
