Personality

Geoff is a strict military man, to be short. No-nonsense except the rare moment when not stressing out about something or with his daughter. He is a faithful man to the Holy Light, and has been known to talk to others about it as often as possible. Especially his daughter. He is not fond of the undead in any shape or form. He can tolerate them; but he still feels pretty scared of them. Orcs; well, that comes down to the individual. Geoff has the kind of mindset of "Oh at least they're still living!" When it comes to other Horde races? Geoff doesn't have much of a problem with them, unless they're apart of the Horde forces. After all, the Alliance and Horde aren't particularly on friendly terms.

Geofferson would rather spend his time training or with his daughter. In truth? He really has little to no life outside of the military. He is a tolerant individual of most people, however. Perhaps a little angry around the dead, but other then that, he doesn't mind talking to the enemy after they've been beaten, he's been beaten, or in an attempt to reach an agreement. Geoff makes it mostly a hobby to scare recruits or those under his command, as well. Something he is oddly proud of.

Alignment: Lawful Good

History

At a meager two months old, a child was left at the Stormwind Orphanage named Geofferson by two beggars from Redridge who had migrated to Elwynn. Geoff's time at the orphanage was a time he considered well-spent. True, the other children were at times rough, and the matron could be stern; but Geofferson himself found fun in the simple things. Making the matron's life harder by conspiring with the other children was a favorite of his. A bucket of water over the door, jumping out at the matron while she wasn't looking; Geofferson, needless to say, spent a lot of his time in the corner or apologizing. On one day in particular, he and a few other children escaped the confines of the orphanage to see a merchant wagon carrying a payload of sweets. While the merchant's attention was directed at a priest walking by, the children managed to sneak a few pocketfuls of candy. Geofferson was unlucky enough to be seen by the merchant.

"Get back here, you little thief!" Screamed the merchant as Geofferson stood, frozen. There were no corners to sit in this time, and the merchant had what Geofferson had always dreaded; a paddle. "Is it really necessary?" The clergyman said. "H-He tried to steal my stock..." The man replied meekly. The priest, who seemed to be gentle, grabbed Geofferson by the arm, and slowly walked him over to the wagon, where Geoff dropped the candy. Why was he going along with what this man said? He could have just ran and crawled into a corner to eat his sweet prize. But no, he dropped it! The boy looked surprisingly docile as the priest spoke. "Would you like to come with me?" Geofferson slowly nodded his head, and followed the priest to the canals, where they sat and talked.

"Have you heard of the Holy Light?" The man spoke. Of course Geofferson had heard of the Light during his studies and while in church, but he never really paid it any mind. "Have you?" The priest repeated. Geofferson looked up from the floating debris in the canal. "Huh? Oh, yeah, sure." The man contemplated the child's words for a moment, before smacking him on the head just enough so it would hurt. "Then why did you steal that man's things?" "I-I dunno!" Replied the startled child. He was rewarded with another slap to the back of his head. "Ow, stop it!" The man simply shook his head and chuckled, before he said, "You'll learn more of the Light soon enough. Seek me out at the cathedral; I am Father Cooper" He said. So, a week later, Geofferson saw another opportunity to escape the orphanage. This time, however, he was not searching for sweets or coin; this time, he was off to look for a priest...

Upon walking into the expansive cathedral, Geofferson was assaulted by the noise of hymns and prayer. There, he finally saw the priest whom he was looking for. Father Cooper sat on a bench, seemingly lost in prayer, when Geofferson walked up to him and scooted closer. After a few minutes of silence, Geoff said, "So...Tell me more about the Light?" Father Cooper slowly opened his eyes to see the young Geofferson practically leaning into him. The man handed Geoff a small prayer book, and said, "Let's begin, shall we?" For the remainder of his time at the orphanage, Geofferson would see the man as often as possible, and, Geoff even started paying attention in church and to his studies. Slowly, the rebellious child would become a model student, and even consider joining the priesthood.

A few years later, word hit the orphanage that a couple of a lower noble family would be coming to adopt a child, unable to have their own through biological means. Lord and Lady Braxton came to the orphanage a few weeks after. By this time, the rowdier children had at least settled down, and the well-behaved like Geofferson had gone to work to look their best. By this time, Geofferson was still a religious boy, but had considered joining the army. Geoff cared little now for the pompous lifestyle of living in a noble family, but getting adopted. He shared the dream orphans in his situation have had throughout time; the dream to have parents. So, upon the arrival of the couple, Geofferson had the perfect plan; show them he listened to his studies, and worked hard. The rest was a matter of prayer and hope that he would be the one adopted.

A week later, after reviewing all of the children, Geofferson was adopted and given the last name "Braxton" by his new parents. While one would expect oodles of happiness from this situation, that was not the case. Geofferson was almost immediately taught how to sit at just the right angle, stand at just the right angle, bow to the right people, and, of course, to pray at least three times a day. Geofferson's parents instilled into his brain that he could accomplish everything so long as you looked up proud and tall, with a "Stiff upper lip." As his father had repeatedly said. His parents didn't show any affection for the first few months he was there. In fact, Geofferson spent many nights in his room crying and praying. "Why don't they love me?" He would ask himself. At dinner, he said this aloud. "What was that?" His mother asked sternly. "Nothing!" He replied meekly. His adoptive mother, however, had heard him say this.

Shocked by this, his mother replied. "We love you, Geofferson! But showing such affection is hardly proper! Why, you aren't even my real-" His mother was too late to realize her mistake. Geofferson ran to his room, not saddened, but angered. Geofferson looked to the prayer book near his bedside table. In the end, faith would get Geofferson through the years with his adoptive parents who showed him little to no affection. No love; only anger if he did something wrong. Geoff, upon reaching adulthood, had found a noble-woman whom had taken his fancy. Months of courting led to marriage; only a year were they married before she gave birth to a boy. His wife, however, died to birthing complications. Unable to look at the bundle without seeing his wife, Geofferson traveled to Northshire abbey. He left the child there, however, he looked over his shoulder many times before he left.

Geofferson joined the army two years before the first war; considering his nobility, he was promoted to knight almost as soon as he joined. For months Geofferson trained, hoping to make his parents proud in some small way. Later, with the start of the first war, Geofferson was in Alterac on business. Later, word came to him of the Orcish Horde. Coming to the aid of his kingdom, Geoff fought as many around him died. He was a survivor; and so were his parents. At least, for awhile. While escaping to Lordaeron, his father died due to his wounds. His mother after their arrival to the kingdom of Lordaeron succumbed to her depression and hung herself. This left Geofferson the only heir to the Braxton house. Alone and without what guidance his parents would most certainly have given him, he spent most of his time in the city, mingling about with the other refugees.

Then, while sitting in his house and pondering what he would do for the night, a knock came at the door. Lying at his doorstep lied an infant in a basket. A simple note written in bold letters saying "Her name is Scarlett." Geofferson was perplexed at the situation. The man considered going to find the woman, but looking back down at the baby, he muttered to himself. Then, upon picking up the basket, the infant within screamed. "O-Oh, ah...Er, ah, yes, food!" Geofferson already had the bread chewed and ready before he noticed the smell. Thus, Geofferson gained a daughter whom he became very attached to. Soon enough, most every day was devoted to his daughter; the crib near the bed, and him near constantly talking to her.

Then the second war came. Geofferson left his daughter with a servant to fight and give her a kingdom to live in; a true home. Geofferson slowly chewed through the ranks, until becoming Knight-Captain. By this time, Geoff had already begun his training as a paladin, and indeed, his religion once again helped him fight. Though not against his adoptive parents; but enemies of the Alliance. He was of the initial wave in Outlands, but became injured and sent back. With the second war's end, he returned to raising his daughter and homeschooling her; teaching her of the Holy Light, the church, and the theologies and philosophies behind it. His first gift to her was a prayer book; the one given to him by Father Cooper all those years ago. While a strict parent, Geofferson made sure to show Scarlett what he wasn't given; affection. He even began calling her "Little Red" because of her hair.

With the new Stormwind built, Geoff finally could return to the home where much of his childhood strife took place...When the third war came, Geofferson was once again ready to fight. Once again, slowly gnawing at the ranks and fighting against the scourge. Geofferson was present at most all of the battles, save for a few. Geoff eventually finished his paladin training after the end of the third war. Geofferson was then a captain; a captain with little to nothing to do other then go out on patrols and make sure gnolls or wolves weren't bothering villagers and watch out for his daughter.
