Personality

Garrok has a philosophical mind, but one with fiery passions and stoic ideals. He is tenacious, loyal, and aggressive, with a headstrong personality. He has the temperament of a leader, both spiritually and militantly. He acts in a respectful manner to all, be it troll, tauren, or blood elf. All have a blank slate, until molded otherwise by their words and actions. It is not incredibly hard to incite Garrok to anger, and he is very sensitive to disrespect in those he deems his insubordinate. As an elder, shaman, and veteran warrior, he has an intense pride. There is little he believes he must do in order to further elevate himself as an honorable orc, and would dispute that claim upon pain of death. This vain pride is a critical part of how he defines himself. His thoughts are militant due to his past; organized, methodical, and straightforward - yet powerful because of this. An eminent problem-solver, he is greatly used to applying his faculties to tactics and logistics. He finds great joy in puzzles, and often engages in them in his free time.

History

Garrok'thar was born on Draenor to the Bleeding Hollow clan during the tribulative times of the Old Horde. The savage, bloodthirsty alliance of orcish clans content to practice demonic magics and wiping the Draenei out. He grew up strong, under the influence of warmongers and orcs filled with demonic blood lust. Under this influence, his growth was sped up from age seven by order of Gul'dan (as were all orc children around age six at that time), and immediately joined in the battle against the draenei in its closing times. His clan leader having drunk from the chalice of Mannorath's blood without hesitation, Garrok'thar had no inhibitions either, even at such a young age. However, he wasn't a warrior long before the clans suddenly turned inward and began fighting each other with a lack of enemies and the blood lust raging within them. He found himself pinned in brutal clan wars with not but a close few to rely on.

He managed to survive, and saw the opening of the Dark Portal. With the scouts returning, the Old Horde reunited to attack a new enemy, and conquer their lands for their own. This would be, obviously, the humans of Azeroth. Hesitantly at first, they entered. Then they poured in, once again ruled by blood lust. Garrok'thar went with them, roaring battle cries with his orc brethren and cutting down helpless human villages without mercy. Nothing stood in their way at first, until they began reaching more prepared humans. Humans with swords and armor against the orc's own cumbersome, less advanced metal shells. Despite major logistical disadvantages, the orc's physical prowess and insatiable demonic blood lust won the Horde the First War with the sacking of Stormwind, to which Garrok'thar was privy to.

He then left after the sacking, joining the rest of the Horde in their finding and consequent alliance with the trolls two years later. The second war commences, and Garrok'thar - now a seasoned warrior - advances to Stone Guard (partly playing off of his blue eyes, though having no mystical belief himself) and fights for the Horde under Orgrim Doomhammer as his Warchief. Even with their new allies, however, Garrok'thar's company was defeated, and the survivors (Garrok'thar among them) were put into internment camps, so lethargic from demonic blood lust they complied.

For some time Garrok'thar wasted away in the internment camp, lost in his stupor with his brothers. He hadn't even the mind to feel sorrow at his predicament. That is, until Thrall and Grom arrived, liberating his company of Bleeding Hollow clansmen. Many of these Bleeding Hollow orcs, Garrok'thar included, joined Thrall and Orgrim's new Horde out of sheer respect and lust for vengeance. And so, Garrok'thar accompanied the new Horde across the ocean - to Kalimdor. There, he assisted in the establishment of Orgrimmar, hunting for food and acting as a protectorate for temporary establishments in Durotar and the Barrens while Orgrimmar was being built. He was there when they met with the tauren, and acquired close friendships with the nomadic race.

Upon Thrall's reintroduction of Shamanism to the orcish people, Garrok'thar felt an old longing in his middle-aged bones. He answered the call, and began learning shamanism from a Frostwolf teacher.

Thus, he studied, and after years of practice has become a shaman of fair skill. Though officially retired, his word now commands respect amongst Horde Council, both as an adviser and veteran commander of War. He offers guidance in war tactics and spiritual encounters, though the latter in more brevity. Though at such a mature age, he still has the ability to hold his own in combat to devastating effect.
