Dunkhaan is a 7130-year-old Draenei Shaman. He is played by Jonoth.

History

Dunkhaan was born on the vessel Oshu'gun during its travels to find a new home world. He had an early fascination with the many different worlds visited, and to this day felt that those times of exploration were the height of Draenei society. Enjoying the landscapes and species on the different worlds, he had a connection with both the natural worlds they visited as well as the ship and technology used to explore. Growing up, he became a scout and explorer. During his trips at the various planets, he grew fond of the cultures of the inhabitants, and became a collector of small items that he received from these villages, mainly trinkets and small totems to remember the journey by.

When the Draenei founded their new homeland of Draenor, Dunkhaan was eager to comb the new terrain. He had some interaction with the shamanistic Orcs, admiring their connection to the world around them. One such Orc noticed Dunkhaan's fascination and gifted him his spaulders, a way Dunkhaan could feel connected to the culture. But the peace between the two races would not last forever. Eventually, the Burning Legion would corrupt the Orc society. With Shattrath's destruction impending, the Draenei decided to flee, leaving behind just enough citizens to convince the Orcs that their victory was absolute and complete. Dunkhaan's parents decided to remain behind to give their son, and their race, a chance to survive and rebuild. Dunkhaan tried his hardest to remain behind with them, but they told him that if he did not survive and continue their legacy, then their journey from Argus and their current sacrifice would mean nothing. Dunkhaan reluctantly and tearfully bid his parents farewell, fleeing to Zangarmarsh and hoping to some day see his parents again, though he knew this would likely not be the case.

Dunkhaan spent his time in Telredor helping however he could, whether it was scouting or hunting and gathering. It was here while in hiding that Dunkhaan first heard the person that would complete his spiritual journey...Nobundo. He did not know what to make of Nobundo at first, only knowing the rumours about the Broken and the possibility of their condition being contagious. But in search of something more, Dunkhaan made his way to the plaza, wondering what was to be said. Casting a storm on the area, Nobundo preached the ways of the Shaman, and Dunkhaan was in awe. He felt this was the path that called to him from birth, the thing he felt during all those visits to different worlds. And so Dunkhaan began his training and followed in Nobundo's example, trying to get in touch with the elements of his world. He especially connected to that which first caught his attention: the power of the storm, and in time would learn to call upon it in time of need to help his people. At the same time, he saw in Nobundo a survivor of the destruction of Shattrath, which gave him a slim glimmer of hope that perhaps his parents may have also survived. He took to the spiritual side of Shamanism to hopefully obtain the means to seek answers.

Upon hearing the plan to retake the Exodar, Dunkhaan volunteered for the raid. He was on the ship when it took off and spiraled out of control, crashing in Azuremyst Isle. As the Draenei tried to salvage what they could, Dunkhaan tried to be a spiritual guide for the surviving Draenei. Dunkhaan would spend time exploring the area around the crash site, making friends with the Stillpine Tribe and finding a connection with the elements of this new world. Inspired, he returned to Draenor to help the rebuilding process, and to seek out answers as to the fate of his parents.

Personality

Alignment: Neutral Good

He is a man's man: strong, confident, intelligent and philosophical. He also has a deep-rooted attachment to the natural world, beginning in his youth and extending to his training as a shaman. His spirituality also stems from his hope to find out what happened to his parents.

He wears a simple harness, kilt, boots, and gloves in a combination of leather and chainmail. He sometimes wears shoulderpads that were a gift of an Orc Shaman before the Orcs were dominated by the Burning Legion.

Other: His torso and arms are covered in tattoos, a combination of storm-related manifestations such as wind, clouds, rain, and lightning.

Skills and Abilities

Dunkhaan specializes in storm-related abilities, focusing on the use of lightning, wind, and fog both separately and together to create small storms.
