History: Duchenne was born to an avantgarde gunsmith and his humble wife in a tenement in Gnomeregan. Duchenne's father, Henry Strangelock, was admired in his corner of Gnomeregan for the complex amount of work he put into gun crafting, he, unlike Dwarves, would make guns artistic rather than useful, most of his guns were overly complex and esoteric to use, which drew much praise and sales from the more urbane tinkers of Gnomeregan. When Duchenne reached her adolescence her father took her as an apprentice, he taught her how to make the Strangelock gun, which earned him his name and would later on earn Duchenne hers. Duchenne and her father persisted in this way, he would make new and eldritch guns to sell to quirky tinkers and Duchenne would make more simplistic arms as practice.

As she grew older Duchenne would learn to shoot from a Dwarf she frequently traded with, eventually Duchenne would go on hunting trips around Dun Morogh with him, which is where she picked up her shooting skills. Unfortunately, the good times had to end and Gnomeregan was attacked by Troggs. As Duchenne and her family escaped the city a flash of radiation caught them just barely, for Duchenne it resulted in a harmed eyesight, for her father it was an enfeeblement, Duchenne's mother was relatively unharmed.

In their exile from Gnomeregan Duchenne's mother took to caring for the father, Duchenne spent her time squinting at books and inventing a pair of goggles to help her with her eyesight. As Duchenne adjusted to her life with her impairment her family encountered economic issues, as her father was the breadwinner of the family and he was too ill to work, Duchenne decided that despite her impairment she would enlist in the Ironforge Rifleman Army.

In her time in the army Duchenne had a better chance to improve her sharpshooting skills with her vision impairment, the goggles she crafted worked surprisingly well so long as they did not fall of her face, and she had an easy stint in Honor Hold shooting at Fel Orcs, then a more hazardous tour in Toshley's Station as a hired gun, after which she returned home, with plenty of money to help sustain her family.
