He learned this first in a fight with a group of pirates wanting to get behind the captain, the pendant responded by glowing and engulfing him and shadows having him reappear behind the captain. Personality

Drakonivon is the type of man you would love to have your back if you were in a tight spot, that is if he knows you. He views life in a colder view, since he was left alone most of his life and he was betrayed by the only person he loved. He takes good lengths to come off as a 'good guy' so he can try and stay on the good side of most people. But of course, his motives are far more financial than affection. Unless you are his best friend, he will be happy to sell you out in a heart beat. His life is to the sea and states this often, usually complaining if he leaves to go inland for more than a month.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

History

Drakonivon does not remember who his parents are. As long as he can remember, he was just always at the orphanage. The boy was raised there with the other kids while knowing nothing about his parents. The head matron of the orphanage did not like the boy at all and tended to treat him worse than most. When he turned seven, he roamed the streets of Gilneas, usually hungry and almost always dirty. This is the time he started his days as a thief. It was nothing big since he was only a kid, an apple here and a loaf of bread there. He never took anything of value, so no one really cared as long as they didn't catch him. Drak usually spent his days on the dock staring out at the sea. He wanted to leave the city and see where the water went.

As an orphan boy, no one really bothered him save one person, a girl with the name of Anna. She was his age and she lived near the port with her parents. At first, Drak didn't like her because she had a family and had it all. As they grew older, these feeling did change over time, and he finally accepted the girl. Well, it was more forced since she went to him everyday he visited the port, which was every day, so he saw no harm at letting her get closer. When the two turned fifteen they became inseparable, the middle classed beauty and her dirty orphan boy. That was the phrase that they often heard when together. Of course, her parents did not approve of this friendship and wanted this boy to be gone, so they came up with an idea to finally get this street rat away from their daughter. The next day they went to their daughter Anna and gave her a necklace, "Give this to your friend, tell him that we apologize for the problems we gave him and hope to settle things." At the news of this she left happy that their family finally accepted the boy. After she left the father left to the authorities telling them that his family necklace was stolen by a boy that always goes out onto the docks, he believes the boy convinced his daughter to steal the necklace. With that the guards went in search of this boy.

One evening while Drak stood on the pier looking out at the sea, Anna came up to him from behind, wrapping her arms around him and kissing his neck. "I have a present for you, Drak." The boy blinked, turning to look at a black necklace that she held out for him. "My father finally agreed to accept you, and decided to give you this as an apology for the troubles he gave you." Drak took the necklace and put it on, smiling. "Thank you Anna.." With that he kissed her. The kiss was short lived as yelling filled the port, with guards charging down the pier. "There's the boy! He has the heirloom! Arrest him!" He stared wide eyed at the guards before glaring at Anna. With no other option, he did the only thing he could do: he jumped off the pier and swam away. He looked back to see Anna crying from what she had done, but he ignored it and kept swimming.

Soon he was picked up by a merchant ship and worked on the boat until he got to Kul Tiras. Upon reaching town, and now eighteen, he took his chance to join the Kul Tiras fleet. When he joined the fleet they taught him how to fight and a ship inside and out. Soon, he became the eyes of one of the ships, usually staying in the crow's nest. In his new position, he took up a new hobby which was lute playing. This benefitted the crew because it kept the moral up and ended his boredom on uneventful days.

Everyday the boy trained in melee combat and throwing knives. Seeming to take a liking to blades more then anything else, he quickly was given the nickname "Blades". And from then on that was the only thing that he was called. The name was almost a trademark to him, and he wore is proudly. It got to the point no one remembered his actual name and just called him "Blades".

Blades' life, for better or worse, was more of his fitting. He lived and breathed the sea, and that was fine with him. For a time, he was actually happy and could actually see himself doing what he has always wanted. Although, these days were short as he often thought of Anna and how he should seek her out one day, since it was not her fault of what happened to him, but her father's. The thoughts tended to make him sad, and his song became more slower and sadder. No one argued about the change of song because the crew thought it was because of the hard life of the sea. Only he knows the real reason.

One day, a band of pirates ambushed them and tried to take the ship. The battle was a fierce one, and a battle they thought they were not going to win. Blades fought along side his fellow shipmates, but they were being outmatched. "If only they could kill the captain," he would think. If only he could get behind him. With that thought, the pendant glowed and Blades was covered in darkness. It only seemed like a second, but as the thought left his mind he was behind the pirate captain. Only reacting, he quickly killed the captain. This raised the moral of the other crew, and they soon killed the pirates. This was the time Blades found out that the pendant had an enchantment on it. It allowed the wearer to "shadow step" to a place in his sight.

After that battle, two tattoos later found their way onto his shoulders: a white dagger on his left shoulder to honor the men that died on that ambush, and a black dagger on his right shoulder to represent the moment he had killed the captain using the strange pendant.

Blades had made a friend by the name of Jonoth. He was the closest thing Blades would consider as a brother. When Jonoth became the First Mate of the ship, Blades often took the time to joke with him and tease him over petty things. Blades started to sport an eye patch, stating that "He wanted more of a challenge in battle". After this time, the fleets of Kul'Tiras assisted in the battle against the scourge in Lordaeron.

When the ships arrived, most of the crew, lead by Jonoth, left to the shore to fight the undead with the the ship as cover fire. All went well until the news came to retreat. Retreat they did, and Blades watched in anger as the captain sailed off while his friend was still on that land fighting for his life.

Not long after they returned, Blades left the fleet and took his skills to a darker turn. Blades joined up with a pirate crew named The Seadogs. He soon became the First Mate of the group and sailed with them for about a year. It all ended when they were ambushed by a group of Bloodsail pirates. The ship sank, and Blades drifted on some plywood until he found his way onto a merchant ship that took him to Booty Bay.

At Booty Bay he would spend his days playing his lute and telling tales while cheating people out of a few coins with cheap games. The life was amusing until he heard rumors of a ship called the Bloodpaw, ran by a man named Jonoth. He immediately went in search of this ship. Along the way, he ended up joining a smaller group of pirates that he doesn't remember the name of and pillaged a few merchant ships. One ship carried the black daggers he wears now, an that he still wears to this day.

Blades left the group after a few months and spent the rest of his time in Booty Bay taking up odd jobs as they came around. Now he spends his days in Booty Bay listening to rumors and news in hope of finding Jonoth and his ship.
