Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: This Paladin is usually protected by a near full-body suit of steel plated armour, cloak draped over the shoulders and flowing off from behind him as he strides on. While kept in an excellent state of repair, the armour has clearly seen years of warfare and still bears a number of nicks and scratches along its surface. A libram hangs from his belt by a polished steel chain, the cover is marked by icons and holy rites. A warhammer is usually found with the man, a number of ornate markings of the Argent Dawn and the Light cover the metal of its head.

Other: His body is marked with scars, some far worse than others, from years and years of warfare. He is begining to show signs of his aging, though still in his physical prime and still with the strength he had years ago.

Skills and Abilities

Trained in the art of war, and in the use of the Light, Delargo is a skilled paladin to champion the Light's cause. Between blasting a zombie to ash from a distance with an exorcism, to flattening an Orc's skull with a crushing blow from his warhammer, this man is more than able to hold his own in a hard-melee engagement with an array of enemies. Off the battlefield he is able to maintain, and even craft, weapons and armour for service in battle. 'Retribution' spec't.

Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Fanatical, inhumanly dedicated, and a relentless drive to see justice done, Delargo is a man without the mind-set to tell a lie, or allow an evil to go unpunishment. Living in a world beset by heresy and demons, undead and beastial vermin, Delargo believes it his place in life to stand at the front-lines against the worst battles his people must fight in. Merciless once provoked into violence, Delargo has no problems with ending a life if it means protecting his people, serving the Light, and simply putting a heretic or demon to death. An elitist, without question, Delargo has an unshakable belief that the Holy Light is beyond all religions and people, and to use such magicks as Shadow or Arcane and Fel, is nothing short of heresy and must be punished. While kind and selfless in his actions, he can often times cause more harm than good, given his nature of intolerance to perceived heresy or misdeed. Racist to almost anything not Human, Delargo has no tolerance for Orcs or their allies, and perhaps even less so for the traitoress Blood elves.

History

Born to a fairly well off family in the settlement of Brill, Delargo began his life under the watchful eye of one of the Church's most faithful priests, his father. Between daily chores, prayer, and school work, Delargo had found himself little free-time in his youth for play and childish gaming. Regardless, life moved on, and Delargo never dared to question the holy word of the Light, or of his father. Constantly competing with his older brother, in too many ways to count, the two of them had their love for each other shown in less than 'friendly' means, at times. While their 'games' rarely got out of hand, their father was always quick to deal out punishment, should they over cross the line and make trouble. Being the eldest of the three, and perhaps the most favoured, their sister had already nearly a decade ahead of them and was already a faithful priestess for the Light. Despite being the favourited one, Delargo often saw his sister being punished quite harshly, regardless. The early years dragged along, relatively the same deal over and over again, as Delargo continued with his services in the Light's name.

When Delargo grew old enough to do it, his father began putting him to work around Brill, and much of the countryside at large. Despite the nearly backbreaking labor of felling trees, plowing fields, and tending to anything from armour to farm animals, Delargo found absolutely no shortage of work to do for years to come. Relentlessly following his faith, alongside most of his family, Delargo had become quite the skilled priest by the start of the First war. With the Orcs laying a merciless siege to the lands, Delargo was perhaps far too quick to rush off to bring Holy wrath to the invaders, as well as righteous healing to those fighting against this savage and blood thirsty horde. The war went horribly, so many brave warriors lost under the onslaught of the Orcs, as Delargo began to realize how utterly and completely illsuited to the rage of war that he was. By the end of the First war, and soon enough the begining of the second, Delargo took to news of the Order of the Silver Hand, and wasted no time rushing to a get recruitment into the order.

With the assistance of the High Elves and, to Delargo's belief, a large part of the newly created Paladin order, the Orcs were driven back and forced into camps to keep watch over them. Though the war was over, the scars left in its wake were clear to see. So many dead, with Delargo having lost his brothers, and his sister still in intensive recover from her wounds. Refusing to allow the loss taken during the war to keep him down, Delargo found a renewed, and even strengthed, faith after things had settled down. Hellbent on furthering his skills as a paladin, relentlessly demanding that the horrors of the First and Second wars never be repeated, Delargo spent nearly all his time between prayer and combat practice. With so many people without homes, Delargo began taking in refuges at random and gave many room and board for however long they needed. Somewhere along the way, Delargo had met a short, somewhat timid little woman, and took to her quite fondly. Despite her lack of faith in the Light, Delargo slowly became borderline of obsession with the woman, and spent a great deal of his time with her.

As the mostly quiet years ticked away, disturbed by little else but common and banditry and the odd beastly forest dwelling troublemaker, Delargo finally decided to settle down fully with the woman, and soon had himself a son and daughter to call his own. Content with his family in the quiet and humble settlement of Brill, Delargo began planning for the future, hoping to turn both his son and daughter into zealots like himself. Though his son seemed to take to prayer rather easily, his daughter seemed outright opposed to it all from a young age, and prefered to take after her mother in the tailoring 'business'. Regardless, Delargo was more than happy with the life he had, in his mind, earned from all his past hardships and misery. All this would come buckling down around him, when he caught word of the Orcs making their escape from their camps. Fearful they would return to ransack his lands again, Delargo set off with the Silver Hand to begin operations on the battlefields. While his work seemed rather dull, rarely seeing any more combat with the Orcs, his idea of war would be completely uprooted when the Scourge suddenly unleashed the plague on Andorhal.

Terrified for his family's safety, Delargo thought it best to send then alongside a merchant carvan, and had them relocated to the city of Stratholme. With his family on their way, Delargo rushed off to rejoin the rank and file on the battlefield, and resumed combating the Scourge and the Cult of the Damned. Though the Undead foe were new and horrifying to the man, he quickly adapted to fighting them with all the righteous fury he'd shown the Orcs. Suffering further wounds at the hands of Ghouls and Zombies, Delargo found himself tested nearly to a breaking point in the Third war. But what fate had in store for the paladin, was simply far more than he could ever hope to bear, when he reached the city he'd sent his family to, and caught word that Arthas had given order to purge it. Horrfied that his family was now at the tip of their spear, he desperately pleaded with officers to let him get his family out, but was outright refused on the point that they were likely Undead already. When the Silver Hand was disbanded, Uther refusing to commit such an act of barbarity, Delargo began to lose his grip on his mind.

His family killed in the siege on the city, his mind buckling and breaking under the weight of it all, Delargo went on an bloody and merciless rampage across the countryside. Every undead he came across, and even the unlucky 'infected' peasent, fell before the might of his warhammer. After slaying an number of undead he'd never thought to count, Delargo ran into a patrol of crusaders with a standard of red and white. Calling themselves the Scarlet Crusade, Delargo was quick to sign in with their ranks, hellbent beyond belief for revenge against everything he thought had wronged him. Zealot to the point of even scaring some of the younger members, Delargo was usually the first to throw himself at the brunt of any undead force they'd found along their way. Verging on the point of outright insanity, Delargo began to slip into a dark and morbid depression, the idea of the enemy simply being too great to stop began to tear him apart in side.

The final straw, word of corruption within the Crusade, pushed Delargo over the edge. Alongside a number of likewise paladins, Delargo left the crusade and instead joined along the now formed Argent Dawn. Though they lacked the numbers for the frontal charges that Delargo had become to 'love', he was quick to adjust to the new combat styles of the order, and took a slight liking to hit and run fighting. Everything changed, at a very dramtic pace, when Delargo one day found his daughter tending to the sick and injured inside an Argent camp. Overjoyed that atleast one member had survived, though saddened that the others were cut down, Delargo began to get a hold of himself and soon recovered from his nearing insanity. With a renewed vigor, Delargo continued his own personal war against the Scourge, now intent on ensuring the last of his family be protected at all cost. Having lost track of time, Delargo soon found the Argent Dawn being turned into the Argent Crusade. His outright hatred for Forsaken being allowed into the 'Dawn' was already borderlining on violence, but seeing the Crusade so openly accepting Warlocks and other horrors, finally broke the man in a way. Refusing to leave his 'post', Delargo left the Crusade, and kept his Dawn tabard as a reminder as what is 'right'.

Having only recently returned to Stormwind, his daughter close at hand, Delargo had learned that an old friend had passed away, and left his house in his name. Overjoyed to finally have some showing of the Light's blessng, Delargo quickly set up 'shop' in the home in the Elwynn forest, and kept his daughter there for'safe keeping'. Ever driven to destroy everything related to the Scourge and Undead in general, Delargo often takes trips into the Plaguelands, usually with other Paladins, to track down and destroy anything they can find of the Undead. Despite tensions between himself and his daughter, Delargo had always made some effort to make time for the now grown up woman, even if she hates him for letting her family die at Stratholme.
