Personality

The woman has been long a student, she's learned patients and more from her time among her Kirin Tor teachers. She followed her mothers footsteps, no matter how joining the group was frowned upon by other Elves, they did accept humans after all, but Cylest has always been an odd one. She has spent much time studying the arcane, learning to read and travel the Ley Lines. Many years of practice foresaw her eventual use of the powers that crisscrossed Azeroth. She is quietly stubborn, like a small pebble that cannot be moved no matter the leverage or power used. She's usually light and making jokes, but has the seriousness of a soldier when need be.

History

It was nearly a thousand years ago, when she was still young, the fledgling city of Kul Tiras was founded on a large island between Stormwind and Lordaeron. The ships carried exotic goods to nearly every port. They were renowned for there ships, and speed on the sea. The Magi among them knew elements of water she could only dream of at the time.

Her mother had left the other elves early on in her training, to come as a member of Dalaran to the people of Kul Tiras. Along with her, she brought a single child; her daughter. Years, Cylest can remember sailing beneath her mother's Powers and through oceanic currents .

Young still, little over 300 years, and Cylest joined a ship of her own. She was accepted as a lowly deckhand at first, working her way up through the ranks of the ships hierarchy. The Captain was a man, but through time he learned to trust the female Magus. She excelled in hydromancy, bending summoned water with arcane hands.

For many years she served on his decks, guiding them through currents and battling sea storms using her long earned eyes and keen sense of the water's movements and flows. She would use her arcane powers to defend the decks from taking too much water, and made sure the boat docked safely.

She was no longer a deckhand, but neither was she part of the ships hierarchy. The crew knew her as an asset to them, as did the captain. The woman had created a niche for herself; an Ocean Guide. She was a spirit of the sea it seemed, her fluidity with the element of water uncanny.

Three times they faced pirates, and only once had the other ship gotten close enough to tie off on the decks. From the darkness came a great wave, morphing and changing into a creature of water, an elemental. It wreaked havoc on the other ship, as Cylest summoned waves large enough to break from the other ships trap lines. The difference between her arcane waters and the dark choppy ocean blinded where they met, making it appear the ocean moved.

Murlocs were always a worry, but due to the ships size they rarely tried to take them. During the second war they joined the Alliance under Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore. Cylest rode to war with the human fleets, only to watch them defeated by the Orc fleets.

Pulling back, the Kul Thiras saved there ships and eventually proved there worth on the sea in battle for all of the Alliance. Unfortunately the Horde ships devastated the Kul Thrias fleet; Cylest and her ship made it home on a limp, mast half broken.

During the Third War against the Undead Scourge, she watched as the ships fell around her, and listened as her captain bid them retreat, there was so little they could do. Upon return the daughter of the Grand Admiral, Jaina Proudmoore, took some of the fleets to West Kalimdor.

Before she could leave something awful happened. The Sunwell was ripped from there race, leaving Cylest in a deep sleep for many days. When she awoke, she knew pain like never before. Her body needed magic, she was dieing. Inside the gates of what was left of Silvermoon she found the remainder of the Blood Elves, all turning into different beings. She turned to the Fel when she could no longer sustain herself.

Cylest sailed west, with more power than she would have dreamed of as a lowly deckhand. Her time among the sea and open skies had allowed her hydromancy to explode, to learn all she could. And eventually through the arcane adventure of the water, she began sensing ley lines as they traced around the planet.

She felt them as faint at first, but after years they became prominent. She could reach out to them, and channel through them using them like a buffer so as not to drain her physically. It makes her a danger on the water, being able to use the Ley lines to cause larger effects on her water spells than she would have had alone.

Within the past few years the Sunwell has been restored and through force of will and dedication, she weened herself from the Fel, and once again works cleanly with the Ley's webbing Azeroth and into Outland.
