Appearance

Cecil is man of knowledge and dresses for the part. Long, well-kept robes are common and are often etched with elaborate designs if a little faded and torn at some places. He admires the color purple for its psychosomatic effect on the sentient brain and, therefore, wears it constantly. He wears several varying types of pouches and bags for carrying pieces of metal and haphazard variates of tools, oils, small creatures, and even harvested animal parts. Though he rarely cares about his appearance when around others, he violently refuses to be seen around town without his trademark black pointed hat with the purple band.

Other: A quirky and absurdly strange undead, Cecil is always carrying around some obviously dangerous object such as a shoulder mounted shredder claw or a Clefthoof stomach full of Khorium Mines. His excuse for having such things is that if the situation arises where he would need to demonstrate his inventive prowess, the proof is in his hands, or on his person...

Personality

A Pandora's box of gags, wisdom, whimsical sarcasm, and sometimes outright morbidness, Cecil is as unusual as they come. A brilliant scientist and an often morally confused inventor, he strives to attain an almost perfect knowledge about everything, even if he doesn't quite understand that you can't graft Goblin Rocket Boots to your hands and expect to live to tell about it. Being undead, Cecil is totally oblivious to his own safety and tends to lose pieces of himself in his experiments, thus making his joints weak and in constant need of repair or even replacement altogether. Unlike others of his kind, Cecil does not hold any grievances or dislikes for any particular race or faction. He respects intellect and philosophical understanding over things like strength or likeness of race. He would sooner discuss the political structure of termite colonies with a human before he would discredit him for his being alive rather than dead.

History

Not much is known about Cecil's past. It is believed that he was born in a small village on the outskirts of Westfall and was a follower of the Church of the Holy Light, which might explain why his use of use of magic is limited mainly to those used by known Priests. It is likely that he fell to the Plague at an age between his late twenties and early thirties. Most of his known history takes place after his rebirth as a member of the Forsaken.

After being risen, Cecil lurked about the filthy sewers of Undercity. Having no physical ability and very little arcane knowledge, he was of no use to the Forsaken efforts. On a rainy day, one which caused the grime in the canals to rise several feet, Cecil retreated to higher ground near the Apothecarium. As he sat on the steps, he noticed that several large bags of scrap metal were being tossed out of the complex. As he rummaged through the junk, he began piecing some of the components together forming a small device that he named "Marv".

At first, Marv was but a small console that had two lights on it's face. A light that flashed on and off in a pattern that could be understood only by Cecil for conversation and a two color light that indicated 'yes' or 'no', green and red respectively. As the months progressed and more scrap was thrown out of the Apothecarium, Cecil began to upgrade Marv into a primitive machine that could perform mundane tasks at the delight of its creator.

As Cecil's knowledge grew and his luck improved, he started coming across old books and schematics that taught him more and more complicated types of engineering. With his new-found abilities and his loyal companion, he set out to roam Azeroth in search of knowledge that the sewers could not teach him.

After years of exploration, spanning the entirety of Azeroth and Outland, Cecil now sets his sights on the mysteries of Northrend. With only legends and history books to guide him, he intends to search for a fabled land where only myths have spoken...

Extra

No one really knows why Cecil is "the third" of his assumed lineage. All records of his family are untraceable because his last name was self-claimed and no memories of his existence lie with the current townsfolk of Westfall. The only plausible explanation would be that he might have considered his name after becoming undead: Cecil Blackscar II, meaning that he would have been killed and resurrected a second time. The circumstances of this death are a mystery...
