Appearance

Bryce dresses for the landscape he is about to travel into; The colors of his armor varies just as the world around him does. He generally seeks to blend in and camouflage himself to travel more easily, preferring to lay the ambush rather than stepping in one. His clothes tend to be made out of leather though may be reinforced with slight bits of mail rings to take a greater impact and they all share the trait of being fit for longer travels and the weather conditions encountered on such.

As expected of a noble, he has several other costumes that aren't as protective. Cloth suitable for dining, discussions of political nature or otherwise suitable for festive occasions or events. They stand out from the commoner's clothing showing his ability to adapt to the environment though he prefers his more protective attires.

Personality

Alignment: Neutral Good

Bryce is a man who despite the stress (and perks) nobility has granted him; Has remained true to himself. He is friendly, has an open attitude and enjoys his life. He does not look down upon other people, realizing that nobility is just a title that people seem to accept by; After all, it isn't too uncommon for nobles being hanged when they get out of line. He seeks to do the best for his house, the people around him and perhaps more uncommon, the entire world. He looks beyond the lands he owns, beyond Stormwind and realizes there is so much more out there that many have never seen.

He is a traveler at heart and enjoys exploring, going to faraway places and meeting the different cultures, the different races; He wishes to see their cities, to lend help directly where needed instead of bickering over it in the Stormwind halls. This at times has made him act rashly or perhaps impatient, when he felt all options had been discussed and all pros and cons laid out on the table; People can argue forever, yet in the meanwhile, the problem persists. He wishes to fix the problem instead of being part of it.

His house and troops support the Alliance fully, and any sign of racism is quickly dealt with in various means. People are entitled to opinions, but when such opinions get in the way of other people's well-being and lead to inaction when the opposite is required, he is quick to call people out on such behavior. Such demands have not always been easy and Bryce has dismissed more soldiers from service then he'd like to remember; Elves, Draenei, now Worgen that make his people anxious and nervous. Some of the soldiers he dismissed were good people and returned later when they realized their mistakes, to be accepted back into service without any penalties; People make mistakes, and Bryce fully realizes that. He himself, is not perfect.

History

Bryce Calastar was born as only son to Lady and Lord Calastar, though a sister was soon to follow him a mere two years later. Bryce himself was born a year before the Alliance was established and recalls nothing of it but tales told at a much later age; His parents were stalwart believers that the Alliance was the way to go and that Azeroth required it to survive. Bryce grew up as one would expect with finer education and classes; He and his sister got along well most of the time though had their periods of bickering and outright fighting like any other child would upon growing up.

Around the age of eight, the fruits of the Alliance truly began to show as the house expanded and began to try and employ the different races. Bryce recalls being introduced to a dwarf, who was almost the same height as him and the first thing that went through his head was on how hairy the new kid was. In the years to come, Bryce continued to meet and learn about these different races; High elves, Dwarves, Gnomes. Quickly being taught to respect everyone, no matter the differences; It was at times confusing, not fully understanding it yet but he imprinted that one rule into his head.

The completion of Stormwind stirred things up with their lands being nearby in Elwynn. Bryce was still too young to fully understand the details but he was sheltered largely from the experience (though picked up traces and rumors and similar about the situation). House Calastar began to expand his standing guard force during this time and began to provide their soldiers more actively to the Alliance with a rebellion so close to home. It continued to be a busy period of learning, classes and growing up.

During the Third War Bryce was forced to become a lot more serious. He understood the meaning of war and what went on, be it for better or worse as the news interrupted his relatively peaceful education so far. Bryce started learning on the various weapons, techniques, tactics; Began to attend war council meetings in which the house discussed where and when to send troops. He got his first few glimpses on how big the world actually was, and the influence the house had within the world. Afterwards his father would ask him for his observations and opinions, testing the boy's ability to pay attention once again, to learn.

As Bryce advanced in his sessions and learned about the bow and techniques fitting to the weapon, he found himself training time and time again with the High Elf ranger within the house; Their conversations fleeting yet pleasant. It left the young man wanting to converse a few more minutes longer each time they spoke, but his schedule had been made days in advance in a reoccurring fashion. The ranger never wanted to delay the man, even if he seemed to enjoy being around her. Being around sixteen at the time, Bryce developed his first crush in great secrecy, a crush never mentioned to anyone else. The bow became his favorite weapon and the elf his favorite tutor though he was prone to mistakes and was berated for them; But as with many childhood crushes, it faded away over time, their differences were just too great.

After the third war, Night Elves continued their relationship with the Alliance and admittedly proved to be the hardest race they ever had to learn about. Strange individuals, reclusive, a society based on warrior-women and a faith not akin to their own. Until this day they've yet to be able to contract a single Night Elf for a position within the house, though they aspire to.

On the flip side of the coin; Blood Elves left the Alliance shortly afterwards, causing for political difficulties as the house employed several High Elves. They refused to dismiss or even imprison them, the elves residing on the land not having partaken in the events. Some respected the Alliance and left on their own accord, wishing to see the hardships their kind had gone through, though several stayed and still serve house Calastar today. With the long life spans, they barely look any different. Though in the time span of that year everything seemed to change about the High Elves.

A service was held as fitting as appropriate for the loss of the High Elves in complete silence, never before had a race employed by the house taken such a devastating strike and the effects of it were felt for the year to come. Political tensions rose, people became bitter in the lands and outside of the house; Though House Calastar always remained neutral on the stance. They patiently reminded people that losing ninety percent of a race is a pain they had never felt before and they could not imagine the feeling the High Elves must feel inside. Bryce himself was speechless though he had no time to reflect on it for as long as he would have liked as he still had a lot to learn.

As the years went on, Bryce got more involved with politics and developed quite a skill with the bow. He was no man for front line fighting as the House wished for him to be in the past; He felt restrained in full armor, acting as a Knight on a horse. He was agile, quick to draw and accurate despite stressful situations and chose to stick to what he did best; Or rather, he learned to stick to what he was good at after trying to show off from horseback. He had gotten more courage despite the brief moments with his tutor and set up a wonderful plan, seeking to amuse her; He would ride the steed, get up on the saddle to pluck a fruit from the tallest tree on the grounds which in turn he would present in the most noblest of manners to the High Elf ranger. The first part succeeded, the second part did not. When Bryce went to make a bow, the horse had enough of the man his shenanigans and threw him off and out of the grounds. He ended up in a thistle-bush nearby and was pulled back out by the High Elf ranger as a porcupine. He was scolded, mocked, berated while she'd pull the thistles out of him though in the end, Bryce managed to make her smile. Mission accomplished.

At the age of twenty-three, his parents passed away from old age and left the house in his care. Having been taught every value they once possessed, a lot of their personality continues influencing him to this day. He has appointed new advisers which to people's surprise, included a spot for the High Elf ranger. He trusted her, despite the differences they had and believed her diversity despite all the experiences made her a perfect candidate to offer genuine opinions.

The house has run well for the last two years with the exception for Cataclysm wrecking both people's lands and morale. All of Azeroth seemingly affected, borders of war having shifted drastically; Expenses have gone up but are so far managed as the house has once again started to recruit more actively. They won't be safe in Elwynn forever and they realize it; The house is preparing to join the war.
