Other: Her face has a few small freckles on it. The character herself is of a pale complexion. Because she finds both her first and last name to be rather silly she often refers to herself by her middle name, Blythe.

Appearance

She is often garbed in robes and a hood that conceals her face and body. Even her hands are covered. Often she prefers to wear dark colors.

Personality

Alignment: Neutral Good

Because she had spent a good portion of her childhood as a shut-in she is rather awkward and hasn't picked up on many social cues on how to behave. She also has a hard time reading body language but can understand facial expressions and emotions. Binny does try to come out of her shell, but has a hard time learning. She'll do her best to be friendly and do what she thinks is right, and isn't afraid to help out others.

While she has no strong prejudices she just can't stand brightness and has in turn avoided people that exhibit such a trait, whether it be in their weapons or armor. She does not dislike such folks, but prefers to be with people of darker tones.

History

Binny was born to an average-sized family on the outskirts of Gnomeregan, and was the middle between her two brothers, one five years older than her and the other two years younger. Like a few of her cousins, and her older brother and grandmother, she exhibited the traits of light sensitivity. Often because of this she had worn a hood and dark-tinted goggles whenever in public, and like most kids that were a little different from their peers she was picked on and made fun of.

Binny did not react well to this, so instead of playing with the other gnomes she often stayed in her dark room, tinkering away. She loved putting things together and taking them apart, and sometimes even the simplest things like magnets brought out a deep sense of wonder and curiosity. She loved reading too, and wanted to learn everything she could about the world from the comforts of her bedroom, but she soon found out that she couldn't stay in her little hole forever.

When the Troggs came to invade Gnomeregan her family was among the first to leave and take refuge in Ironforge. Her parents were cautious, and had left so quickly she couldn't gather up her things. Binny only managed to grab one of her books, which she cherished and held dear. It was a beginners guide to the study of arcane, and with nothing else to read she had come to memorize this book front and back. The idea of arcane energies fascinated her, she had begged her parents to let her take apprentice to a mage, and they had agreed that she could train if that was what she really wanted to do.

While she kept up on her tinkering, her parents found her another gnome who was proficient in arcane energies, and agreed to take her under his wing. However, he didn't teach her in only the ways of magic, but also his values and beliefs. He didn't want her to keep being a shut-in forever, and persuaded her to not only read about the world, but to explore and become part of the experience itself first hand. Through many years of training, his message had come through, and when she had finally grown up she had decided to take his advice. She would go out and see the world and its people, even if it wasn't as cozy and comfortable as staying in a home. At the age of forty Binny gathered her belongings, and left a note.

“It's now time for me to move on. I will no longer see the world from a vision in my mind, but witness it first hand in all its glory. Maybe one day I too will be in one of those books. Until then, thank-you, I couldn't have had a better teacher.”

Binny boarded the Deeprun Tram, and her family and teacher haven't seen her since.
