Personality

Bartholomew is a pushover and a follower by nature. Very non-confrontational. However, despite his pacifistic tendencies he has many odd quirks that can be seen as strange to downright rude to some people. Rambling is a bad habit of his and once he begins, it is fairly difficult to stay the stream of words from his flapping mouth. One would not describe the Gnome as a ‘people person' as he is prone to forget names and faces with an astoundingly short memory.

Otherwise, Bartholomew is a pleasant enough guy, having found that the ‘tall folk' are less likely to punt you if you smile and make nice.

History

For the grand majority of Barth's life he was simply an engineer, like his father and grandfather, and all the generations prior. It is needless to say then, that Gnomeregan, a haven of technological advancement, was a paradise, due of course to his profession. For many decades the little gnome toiled in those buzzing and whirring halls of science, always thinking of the next big leap, the next hurdle for gnome-kind.

During the futile battle to save Gnomeregan, Bartholomew had volunteered to fight back against the Trogg invaders. Through the use of his own ingenious adaption to the dwarven rifle, a "springrifle" which operated solely on the use of energy stored in the coils of springs and clockwork gears, he met the savage enemy head on. Such acts would become rare in the future, but before the fall of his beloved city, this gnome was a different character. These afore mentioned exploits lead to his gaining the title of ‘Springrifle'.

When the great City fell, though, Bartholomew was devastated. Fleeting in his nature however, the Gnome quickly ceased his mourning and became absorbed in the new task of building Tinker Town with his fellow exiles. From there he joined the staff of mechanics that maintained the Towns upkeep.

When the project known now as the Deeprun Tram arose, Bartholomew was quick to apply and begin work. Once the Tram was completed Bartholomew stayed on the ‘Deeprun Team' as an engineer, working diligently to assure the technological marvel kept working.

Eventually, the Gnome ran into a group of mercenaries that called themselves apart of some Lodestone Company. When invited to join Bartholomew couldn't help but accept, leading to his resignation from the ‘Deeprun Team'. After a few jobs with the Company Bartholomew fell off the map for a while.

In reality, Barth's absence was due to an engineering epiphany. The little Gnome had always been found of renewable energy, shunning steam and combustion powered devices and loving clockwork contraptions that could easily be wound up and used over and over again. It dawned on the little Gnome that Magic was an incredibly powerful energy source and was also renewable. With this in mind, Bartholomew began to study the arcane with an almost eerie fervor, becoming reclusive.

Just recently, the Gnome has emerged from his studies, carrying with him a host of strange devices and ideas. Now, a regular renaissance gnome, the tiny engineer and mage makes his way in the war torn world of Azeroth.
