Personality

Dahlia is a troubled individual who almost seems to be incapable of showing proper emotions. Which might be standard, at least by Forsaken's standards. No big surprise here. Especially with a profession such as hers. Though often considered heartless, or merciless, she craves the presence of upbeat and optimistic people. Perhaps to forget her own anger and wrath, or perhaps she thinks that it will aid her with time. After all, there's always something consoling in the presence of other people. If they aren't intent on killing you, at least. Philosophy and morals is a rather funny topic for her, and she could probably discuss it down to the very core of it. She has . . . very strange ways of showing empathy, and her sense of humour can easily be considered morbid.

Though, she has a deep interest in exquisite clothes. Yes, she may have a small closet in which she hogs all the fancy dresses she can afford. Naturally, she'd never show anyone that side of hers. Well. Unless they actually get to know her properly. After all, she's one of the least trustworthy among the untrustworthy lot. Formality is a thing that she abhors, which shows her upbringing. She really is not of noble blood. Not in the slightest. Dahlia does have a tendency to get a little bit possessive over whomever gets close to her. Even if just on a friendly basis. That's just a small quirk of hers, but that's about it. Sure, it can be worked out in due time . . .

On races, Dahlia judges very little. She has no reason to abhor any specific race more than the rest. Obviously, she has an immense distaste for any users of the light. Whether they are from the Scarlet Crusade, Argent Dawn, the Sin'dorei . . . it doesn't make a difference to her. Even if it doesn't immediately mean that she'll try and murder them. For the most part.

History

Dahlia Fortune was born a few years before the first war in the kingdom of Lordaeron. Her mother belonged to the military, and her father worked as a chief at a local inn. Quite a mixed upbringing, but it didn't harm her in the slightest. School and her friends kept her busy during her childhood, and she realised early that she was a rather nimble girl. Before the age of eight, she managed to get away from a local shop owner, after he realised that Dahlia stole a small cupcake. Silly thing. Whilst she was growing up, the first war broke loose as well. Her mother insisted on training her with the blade, as she feared that the threat may reach her as well.

Though she didn't train for months, she knew her way on how to handle a sword and dagger. Luckily, her mother didn't have to get down there and dirty. As years passed, Dahlia took a part-time job as a waitress in the inn that her father worked in. She passed school rather easily--- not having to study too much. Luckily, she had a rather keen mind. However, she didn't accept the faith in the light all too easily. It didn't make any sense to her. And she was a little too rational for any of that. In the city, she even met a rather attractive man that she married later on. It was love through an through--- even if Dahlia was a little jealous. Yup, she was just a little obsessive over her love.

A year or two later, the Plague fell over Lordaeron. And reaped every single village. Dahlia and her lover were among the victims as well; but both were reborn. As zombies, they were roaming the dead lands; and feasted on the remains of those that were not raised. Soon enough, they curse was broken; and the undead gained a sentient mind. The Forsaken were born, and the rebuilding of Lordaeron begun; the Undercity was born. However, the danger was not quite over. The Scarlet Crusade was all out to hunt the Forsaken. Among the first few victims, was Dahlia's husband; who was slaughtered just a few hundred meters outside of the Undercity. They became more and more aggressive, the fanatics risking everything. Just in order to kill the plagued Undead.

In grief, Dahlia turned towards the Cult of the Forgotten Shadows, and let go of her old name. And she soon discovered those that called themselves Lightslayers; eager to join, she inquired. And became a recruit. Training was in order. The beliefs of the Forgotten Shadow, training with the blade, brewing of poison, and so forth. It was mentally exhausting, and it sure took a lot out of her. But the result was worth it. The sheer thought of having her vengeance was a thrill to her. Her first mission was to assassinate the priest that led a small camp of the Scarlets, near the Undercity. She returned successful to the capital of the Forsaken, and during her downtime, she went out to travel the world instead. After all, she hadn't seen much of it in her life. She passed through the Plaguelands, and returned back to the Undercity after a few weeks.

Her next mission waited, and she gladly accepted. At this point, she followed the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow entirely, and her faith did not waver in the slightest. She was sent out to mislead a small patrol of the Scarlets, and guide them into a trap set up in the Silverpine forests. After distracting them, and drawing their attention on herself, she made a run for a set-up location; before the trap triggered, and maimed the majority of them. No big surprise that it was easy to pick off the stragglers after that. Getting acquainted with her new life, time passed fairly quickly. Between missions, travel ling and attempting to maintain a (somewhat) stable social life. Soon, the Undead and the Sin'dorei were allowed in the Horde, and Dahlia used the opportunity to travel to Silvermoon. She was curious whether an old friend had survived the war; which was the case. That was something which brightened her day up a little. She really needed these upbeat people around her.

Dahlia did not participate in the war in Northrend, but instead travel led to the Outlands during that time instead. Nature was something fickle to her; she revered the beauty of it, but at the same time she was envious. It reminded her of her former life, which in return caused burning anger to swell up in her. She did bloom in her role within the Cult, and learned to appreciate the advantages of being Undead. She did not actually realised the arrival of Deathwing, as she was out on a mission during that time; which was underground. As such, she only heard of the news when she was back in the Undercity. Although, it didn't affect her too much. Back to her downtime, she went back to roaming; who knows what secrets the world may still hold.
