Personality

Alignment: Neutral Good

Ayanah, upon first impression, may appear to be calm and overly serious. Beneath the exterior, however, Ayanah is a kindhearted woman who simply wants to help her people. She goes out of her way to look at reality as it is, and hides a sense of sarcastic humor beneath her normally neutral expression. Ayanah also happens to be extremely difficult to anger. The woman holds the title of Master with humility, and is willing to take advice from even an adept as long as they explain their reasoning. Ayanah is unusually unprejudiced for a member of her race, preferring to gain experience regarding a subject before judging it.

History

Ayanah was born to a pair of priests in Silvermoon, and had a rather boring and ordinary childhood. Not much happened as the girl matured. She went to school, recieved an excellent education, dabbled in music and arts, learned a few basic weapon skills. However, the longer the girl stayed in Silvermoon, the more bored she became. She simply needed something new. So after a quick discussion with her parents, Ayanah packed a few bags with necessary supplies and began traveling. She had no real destination in mind, but eventually ended up in Stormwind. The more she interacted with the humans and occasional dwarf in Stormwind, the more fascinated she became regarding the younger races. She enjoyed the amount of energy they provided, and came to generally enjoy their company. And as she stayed in Stormwind, Ayanah found herself becoming surprisingly interested in the Light, as it had never piqued her attention before. She began to spend more time learning about the light, becoming a priest as the years passed. Ayanah was content living in Stormwind, occasionally visiting her family or traveling. Then the First War rolled around. Ayanah began serving as a healer. She was shocked by what she saw, but healed regardless, working with other healers to mend rent limbs, stab wounds, and various other injuries. She became nearly immunized to the sight of death. The war ended after not too long, with Ayanah moving back to Silvermoon as her former home had been destroyed.

She stayed there, recovering from what she had seen and the wounds she had healed. However, war reared it's ugly head again just a few years later. However, this time Ayanah was determined not to stay in the background, and joined the Knights of the Silver Hand as a paladin. Her skills in healing quickly faded as she learned to fight, and as she engaged in actual combat her abilities in the Light took on a more aggressive role. Ayanah trudged through the Second War much like she worked through the First, acquiring many minor injuries but nothing major. As the fighting came to a close, Ayanah once again moved back to Silvermoon, tired and in need of rest. When the call went out for warriors to treck to Draenor, Ayanah ignored it. She simply wanted to rest. And she was able to, for a while.

Unfortunately, she was forced into action when the scourge attacked Silvermoon. She almost immedietly found a small band of farstriders, magi and civilians deep within the city. While the warriors amongst them fought valiantly, in the end it was in vain. Ayanah fell to a claw to the gut and numerous smaller wounds. However, these injuries proved to not be fatal, and the Undead moved on to ravage the remainder of the group, leaving the unconscious Ayanah behind. When she woke next, it was in a large medical tent set up outside of the destroyed city. She stumbled out, ignoring the protests of the overworked doctor in charge. The first thing she saw was her beautiful city, destroyed and defiled. At that moment, she lost her faith in the Light, and in any who still believed in it.

Ayanah simply didn't understand how the seemingly benevolent force could allow so much pain. She began to help her people recover without the light, aiding the injured as best she could. Her eyes turned green despite her meditating through the lust for magic, due to her proximity to those who lacked the same will to resist. When the Blood Knight order was founded, Ayanah was one of the first to join, draining the Naaru to regain her abilities with the Light. She quickly rose in the ranks, her ability in combat combined with her experience aiding her flight. However, her progression halted upon achieving the title of Knight. She simply judged herself not currently ready for any sort of leadership position. The champion she served under was fine with this, understanding that Ayanah was not mentally prepared for an officer rank. He did, however, disagree with Ayanah's view of the light, believing that it had never abandoned them and was simply testing their race. He attempted to start several discussions regarding this, with Ayanah attempting to ignore him. However, as the two were forced to spend time together, they grew fond of eachother. While neither would accept the other's view of the Light, most other topics of conversation were agreed upon. However, a new development would change this.

Ayanah was called to help regain the Sunwell with the Shattered Sun Offensive. Her group slowly pushed forward along with the offensive, both Elven and Draenic. Ayanah's only interaction with the Draenei was conversation directed towards the Champion she served under, but she was impressed by their quiet confidence and belief. As they advanced, her belief regarding the Light became more and more muddled. She decided to simply see what would occur, and how she felt after it. When the Sunwell was finally cleansed, Ayanah felt a variety of things. Guilt for how she had used the Naaru. Relief that her people were free from the grasp of addictive arcane. And, to her surprise, a renewed sense of belief. She confided to her officer regarding this, and apologized for the disdain she had shown him in the past. He accepted her apology, at the same time stating that she would be recommended for promotion due to her actions in the retaking of the Sunwell, if she wanted the officer position. Ayanah pondered it for a few moments before accepting. She was given a spear her officer had been hiding, and informed that the weapon was a personal gift. Ayanah accepted the gift, and the two returned to their capital. Upon their return to Silvermoon, Ayanah was informed that she had gained the title of Master. Since that day, she has simply served her city to the best of her abilities.
