Character Full Name: Arinus Isgar

Character In-Game Name: Arinus

Nickname(s): Arin (pronounced Ah-rin)

Association(s): The Alliance, the Kingdom of Alterac

Race: Human

Class: Warrior

Age: 49, born in the year -22

Sex: Male

Hair: Arinus' hair is cut in the dashing style, and it has appeared that way for as long as he can remember. It is mostly black in its composition, but there is a serious infringement from the graying hairs that have appeared as of late. The hair though, is mostly contained in a helmet, so there is a serious argument that his hairstyle does not exist, but appears as 'helmet hair' from the fusion of metal confinement and sweat. His facial hair though, is one of his joys. It is a mustache that curves down into a goatee, and he makes sure that it is always trimmed and shaved at the right contours.

Eyes: Arinus has plain eyes, there is nothing more to it. His eyes don't have the charisma of a leader or the fire of a soldier, but the commonness of peasantry. They are a hue of green, but it is neither emeralds or forests, residing in the color that all refer to as 'just green.'

Weight: Arinus is broad shouldered and muscular, which has not faded much in his aging. He has rested at a comfortable 209 lbs since the completion of the Second War. His weight is proportionately divided, even if his arms appear a bit bigger then his legs. It seems that for once, he has escape the pot-bellied lineage of his ancestors, remaining as a strong statured man into his later life.

Height: He is of average height, at 6'1, and there is really no distinction between him and other soldiers. He stands equal on the battlefield, which provides some protection against projectiles, but dooms him to never being immortalized as unearthly and towering.

Other: Arinus before he was a soldier, was a potter, and he retains this profession even into his late adulthood. While he does not carry a lot of his supplies on the run, he does have the materials necessary for the occasional leisurely sculpting. He also carries around a lot of survival and cooking implements, because he is constantly away from a serious home, and finds himself in the need of camping often. He also has a lot of writings and scripts that have been scavenged across the years, which he enjoys reading and editing during his tenure in the wild. For transportation Arinus relies on his mount. Unlike most of the human kingdoms, Alterac has always been established in the mountainous regions where horses can sometimes find trouble. Arinus always has relied on a gray ram named Gorgoten in Dwarvish.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Appearance

Above everything else, Arinus values his times as an Alterac footman. Therefore, his usual armor consists of an orange tinged set of armor, accented by the worn-out Alterac tabard that he has worn since the day he was initiated. His visor changes rapidly though. In his guerilla tactics, it will appear as the orange, Syndicate mask, but he does not prefer this because it loops him in as one of their agents. For the most part, it appears as the strong, metallic, orange helm that protects his entire head from the horrors of battle. When he is not fighting, his clothing still reflects his heritage, as he enjoys donning a stylish orange shirt with a pair of brown pants and boots. For the most part though, he wears his armor, because of the threats throughout the Alterac Mountains, Hillsbrad, Arathi and the Hinterlands.

Personality

Arinus is a strict believer that the 'ends justify the means.' A self proclaimed revolutionary, he rejects the authority of the Syndicate, and sees his Alterac as something that is so attainable. Placing himself above the Syndicate though, is very hard for him since he is essentially one of them, killing in the name of furthering his kingdom's rejuvenation. While he does come from common stock, which is much different than the nobility of Alterac, it is hard to distinguish him from most of the Syndicate and their misguided idealism. Upon first glance he is kind and reverent, and finds beauty in the small things of life. Underneath that, he is committed towards his country, and bringing back its prominence before the betrayal of Perenolde. He is only emboldened by the recent resurgence of Stromgarde.

His political views though, are what seperate him from the oligarchic and elitist Syndicate. Where they would place the nobles back in their landed fortunes, Arinus believes that it is only through the peasants that Alterac can come again into glory. This is done through a common ownership in all of the property, and an emphasis on the development of industry. He believes that this can be done through a peasant uprising that utilizes guerilla and hit and run tactics to slowly regain the land that was lost after Perenolde's defection and the martial law imposed after the Second War. He does believe in a common good and the betterment of all society, which is what is key to his self-imposed mission.

History

Born before the Orcish invasion of Azeroth, he saw the relative stability of the kingdom of Alterac. There was not a national prominence for the country, but it survived and even flourished sometimes. This love of country is what would later inspire his fervent nationalism that would be the guiding hand of his actions. With the First War, Arinus begun to see the foreshadowing of a dark future. With the fall of Stormwind, and the Orcish incursions into the north, Arinus began his training as a soldier so that he could defend his homeland until his final breath.

That chance though, never came. King Perenolde, seeing some benefit in allying with the Orcish Horde, betrayed his people and agreed in secret with the Warchief. Arinus was stationed with General Hath's men near Alterac, and could only watch in horror as the commander stood by as the Orcs passed through. Everything Arinus had fought for, for the continuation of his state and its splendor, was being thrown away. When the treachery was exposed, and the armies came for the small, enclosed kingdom, there was little Arinus could do but believe their mission to be necessary.

Out of these ashes, and with control of the country lent to the victorious powers, Arinus found himself at a crossroads. He knew that justice must be served, but believed Alterac could function without interference. As the Third War came, and the Syndicate began to form, Arinus saw the splintering that he had always feared. There was little that could be done now, and the destruction of his country was complete. The ogres came to inhabit the ruins of Alterac, and the Syndicate became little more then burglars and brigands who lost track of their retaking mission.

Arinus, depressed, decided that the only thing that could be done was to fight for his homeland. With the arrival of Stromgarde back on the scene, there can be a continued push to restore the Alliance that fought so bravely against mysticism and Orcish tyranny. With the Sin'sholai now becoming a greater threat to the Alliance in Northeron, a base in Alterac could provide a foothold into the area for Alliance military forces. Arinus, seeing these benefits, has begun to search for other like-minded individuals who would wish to see their country restored. Arinus sees the value in a possible alliance with the Wildhammer, and is now committed towards trying to get Alterac in order, even if he may never live to see its completion.
