Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Alexas can be described in many ways; in the shortest words possible, she is a naïve country girl who grew up in the city. She is rather energetic and excitable, while still managing to be very prideful and headstrong.

Alex has really taken to life as a mage. She can be seen studying vigorously for hours on end as well as spending countless time in the training rooms, altering and testing spells. She seems to take her education very seriously and is always eager to learn. However, this doesn't stop her from enjoying herself in the heart of the flying city.

She can be big-headed at times, letting her place among the mages of Dalaran influence her actions. She can be rather elitist at times, considering some others around her to be beneath her. This side will rarely show until she is alone or with trusted friends. She has general acceptance of all people, but one things seems to stand out the most. Alexas is utterly terrified of Death Knights.

Despite all of her work and dreams, she also has a very caring side that peeks through occasionally. She is very loyal to her friends, always willing to take risks on their behalves. Along with being incredibly loyal to friends, she is also very gentle to animals and other cute critters.

History

Alexas was born in the forests of Tirisfal to a somewhat wealthy landowner. Her father, Xander Kalter, was the son of a merchant and was able to run a successful farmstead in the southern portion of the forest before the plague of undeath. Her mother, Idona Kalter, was in charge of the accounts for the farm while her husband tended to the farmhands and the manual labor.

Their business started out slow, many years before Alexas was born and during this time Idona and Xander were plagued with many stillbirths. They had all but given up hope of an heir by the time Alexas was born. So it was not a surprise that her birth prompted a great celebration that was followed by much pampering. Her parents doted on her, tending to her every whim and it seemed like everything was turning for the better. With a lovely daughter and a rather successful farming business, things were looking up for the Kalter family.

That was until a mage from Dalaran came to test the local children. Alexas was one of the first to rush at such an opportunity! After being tested, the mage declared her gifted in the arts. Alexas' parents were far from enthusiastic about this, honestly they were downright distraught. The mage urged the Kalter family to send their daughter to Dalaran to be trained and from that urging, Xander and Idona finally agreed to let their only daughter move to Dalaran to study.

Throughout her training, she kept close ties to her family. So close, in fact, that the family soon forgot this sadness over the loss of their daughter. It wasn't until the coming of the plague of Undeath that any thing of out of the ordinary occurred to them again. It was during the plague's early phase that her cautious father began to buy up land in Hillsbrad. Within a few months they completely sold their holdings and moved to a more permanent setting in the foothills. All the while, Alexas continued her studies among the mages.

It wasn't until the refugees began pouring in from the countryside around Dalaran that Alexas discovered that something was off. She had the fortune of being in one of the many inns the students frequented when the undead attacked the city. During the attack the students had to utilize every bit of magic and knowledge that they had learned against the undead. It wasn't long before they began to tire. In their exhaustion, they decided it would be better to barricade themselves in the cellar of the inn with the other patrons via magic and physical objects and their plan seemed to work.

During the small calm after the attack they began to clear out the blockage from the doorway and Alexas had the misfortune to be the first out of the underground basement - just as the city began to fall down around them. Before they could return to the cellar, Alexas and another student were caught under a rain of small rubble. They were both injured. As the other students dragged their wounded comrades back into the safety of the cellar, the city began to rumble, the magnificent towers of Dalaran collapsing in on themselves and burying the students in their haven.

Despite being trapped, the mages were lucky on many accounts. The city itself was not densely structured around the inn, and the rubble on the exits was sparse. It took them less than a day to dig a way out with magic. Despite her slight injury, Alexas was aware during the entirety of the aftermath.

It took the city seven years to rise again in its former glory. Alexas was training diligently the entire seven. She saw it as her duty, now more than ever, to prevent another disaster of that magnitude from ever happening again. It was also in these seven years that her father informed her that she was to be married in the coming years. Her father had arranged a marriage with another landlord's firstborn, hoping to solidify his status permanently. Though her feelings on this matter have yet to be seen...

As she began to expand her horizons and leave her sheltered home of Dalaran she was quickly confronted by a man that went by the name of Edorann. He convinced Alexas to join his band of shadow hunters to deal out justice that would otherwise take the city of Stormwind months to get around to completing. Though the leadership soon changed hands to the young former priestess, Annabelle Marie Greene. Annabelle, who was not accustomed to being in a leader role made her one of the triumvirate that now leads the band. Currently they are investigating The Heretic Circus, which is under the suspicion of using shadow magic.

It has been a year since she ended her hunt for the Circus. Alexas has risen among the ranks at Dalaran, delving deep into Ley-line magic and becoming a Ley-walker. She traveled far and wide for her training, starting out in Deadwind Pass, where the ley-lines were the weakest before moving to Elwynn, Searing Gorge, Ashenvale and finally Dalaran once more! She was taught how to extend her spells, teleport anywhere with but a thought, to shield herself from danger and finally to strenghten her spells with the Ley! She took to Ley-walking with pride, excelling in her studies and despite her young age, she managing to become adept enough for her instructor to declare her a full-fledged Ley-Walker.

Despite the accomplishments that came from the Circus, she often ponders if the outcome was worth the cost. Her hand was lost to shadow magic and she was forced to replace it with mechanical counterpart that she controls through magic and it all seemed for naught. They never caught the manipulative force behind Sagi, even if they did manage to remove him from a position of power...

Skills and Abilities

Ley-Line Attunement: Due to her training as a ley-walker, Alexas is able to pull upon the ley-lines to augment her spells and avoid arcane corruption.

Ley-Walking: After years of training with teleportation, Alexas has bypassed the need to speak an incantation to teleport. She is able to move between nearby locations instantaneously though longer distances require a longer arrival time.

Ley-Shielding: Alexas is able to attach threads of the Ley-Lines to her person or others, causing hostile spells to strike the threads and disperse harmlessly. It takes a large amount of energy to maintain the connection with the threads, therefore she cannot be shielded for any long period of time.

Ley-Investment: Alexas is able to use the Ley-Lines to maintain her spells for longer than normal durations.
