Personality

While alive, he was a pretty caring guy. He tried to help other people in need, but left them alone if they asked of it. He tried to trust everyone, until they gave him reason to mistrust them. After being raised, only during high-stress moments, or when something that signifies something major that happened in his memory, does some of this past self show.

As he is now, he is restless. He is almost always moving, whether it is pacing, wandering, or just tapping his fingers against something. As long as it isn't against his master's will.

History

After a childhood of wandering and working odd jobs to survive, he got a job working at a library at age 17. He read many books of the Light and Paladins, and was amazed at what he found. It was as if something that had been missing his entire life had been suddenly had the potential to be filled. He then went to Stormwind to learn to be a Paladin and a follower of the Light. He was learning the three virtues, Respect, Tenacity, and Compassion. He almost gave up during Tenacity, but he pulled through. While training, he turned from a lazy teen into a devoted, hardworking man. When he was fully trained in the arts of the paladin, he set out to the world to find his brother, who had left when Elijah was 17. Hearing that his brother was in Northrend, he almost lost hope, knowing that many who go to Northrend never return. He spent many months searching and asking about his brother. He then stopped, having given up, and then began to aid people in need instead of wasting time searching for his brother. He then was captured and held in the Catacombs. There, he gave up on the Light, after being tortured for a week, and being told it was hopeless. He was believing that it had forsaken him. He then killed his best friend, Erak, for it was the only way that he would avoid becoming a mindless undead ghoul. He then escaped, thanks to the help of a Blood Elf named Astus. Astus declared that Elijah was "interesting" and that he would "deal with him later". They dueled, and Elijah defeated Astus, and Astus let him free.

Later, he joined the House of Autumn. He regained in his belief in the Light, although he did not call upon its power. He met a blood elf, Reigen, with whom he fell in love with soon after they met. He was too nervous to say anything, so they were just friends for awhile. Then, he asked her on a date one evening, when he had finally gathered up the courage to ask. The date went fine, but later, he talked with Reigen. She rejected him, saying that she didn't want to see him wither away and die with age, as she remained alive and well. He said he understood, but he was crushed. He stopped caring for an amount of time, depressed, although he acted as if he was fine as to not guilt Reigen into doing anything. Later, Mordus captured him. He did not resist, because he did not care anymore. After being captured and dragged to the catacombs, he was imprisoned there for over a month. During that time, the elf Astus returned. He needed an ear, and Elijah was the perfect candidate for an ear removal. A fight ensued, and Elijah, in his weakened state, failed. Astus then cut off his left ear, leaving to use it for some no-doubt evil purpose.

Once again, he gave up on the Light, believing that there was no way the Light could exist if things like this happened. A draenie mage drew runes on his back and chest, so that if he ever tried to escape, his heart would be frozen into a block of ice. He then gave Elijah a room, where he stayed for several days, or maybe over a week. He couldn't tell, since there was nothing he could use to determine what time it was was, let alone if it was day or night. Then, exploring outside of the room, Astus stepped in front of him. "I've been looking for you. You can be of some use to me." Elijah, seeing he had no choice, followed Astus down to a ceremonial chamber. "This might hurt, so stay still." Astus said. He drew a small knife. "Wait... What are you doing? I never agreed to be killed!" Elijah exclaimed. Elijah backed away, putting up a weak defense.

Astus knocked him out, and slit his throat. After the last of the twitches died down, he sewed the wound shut. Putting Elijah on the table, Astus took off Elijah's robe and began to draw detailed runes all over his body. Noting the blue rune, he decided to leave it alone, and did not place a rune there. After subduing the soul, he forced it back into the body. When Elijah's eyes opened, Astus was looking down at him. "Rise and Shine." Elijah, no longer a living being, stared back up. His eyes took in his environment. "Where..." Elijah mumbled, as if having difficulty forming words. Elijah remained on the alter, staring up. AStus was surprised at the word. "What? It shouldn't be able to talk back..." Astus checked his notes, he was surprised. He had forgotten a few semi-important runes regarding intelligence and mental-binding. He commanded Elijah to stand, but Elijah remained on the alter. Astus frowned, and shouted, exerting his will over Elijah. Elijah stood up, following his new master's orders.
