History

Tanavar was born just before the War of the Ancients. At three years old, he was forced to hide away in a cave. During the hiding, his mother went into labor and with her aid, he was able to help tend to the newborn Telvan.

After the war, his family settled in a small village at the base of mount Hyjal. Tanavar helped raise his brother, since his father died in the war. He helped his mother gathering herbs in order to help his family get by.

During his teenage decades, he was attacked by a Satyr while he was gathering herbs. He was sure he was going to die until his brother came to his aid, wounding the Satyr to the point of retreat. This caused Tanavar to believe he owed his brother his life. When Tanavar was healed, his brother confided in him about the secret training a Sentinel was offering him.

After this incident, Tanavar began to turn towards fishing. He admittedly was jealous of his brothers training but he loved his brother and so he did not allow it to interfere with their relationship. When Telvan went off to pursue mercenary work, Tanavar wrote to his brother weekly.

When the War of Shifting Sands came along, Tanavar got word from his brother that he wished for him to join him in a village near the front lines. Tanavar could not turn down his brother and so he set off for the village.

During a midnight attack on the village, Tanavar was forced to fight. His brother had become injured and in Tanavar's fury, he let loose a hail of stones upon the Qiraji warrior, drawing it away from his brother. Tananvar lead the creature into a group of Sentinel's and they cut down the creature. Tanavar returned to his brother and carried his brother away to be healed.

Shortly after returning home, Tanavar was approached by a masked, male Kaldorei wounded and out of breath. The man asked him to hide him. Tanavar hid him away in the woods and tended to his wounds. Shortly after he was healed the man revealed who he was, Warlen Firestorm, a Demon Hunter. Tanavar was taken aback by the man, but he did not report him. In truth, Tanavar was curious.

Warlen was indebted to Tanavar and Tanavar decided to take advantage of this. He asked Warlen to train him in his ways. Warlen was apprehensive at first, as was expected. Warlen then agreed after Tanavar told him the story of his brother and how he was inspired by his brothers fighting and was tired of being helpless (though he was still secretly jealous of his brother). Warlen began to train him in the dark ways of the Demon Hunter.

They trained tirelessly for years until Tanavar was ready to be ritually blinded. Tanavar had shown promise in his finesse with the glaives and his ability to channel basic magic. They spent 6 months tracking down a rogue Fel Hound 150 miles from his village. When they confronted the beast, Tanavar jumped in battle with the beast, trading blows equally until Tanavar finally landed a fatal blow to the Fel Hounds back. The beast tried to crawl away but Tanavar quickly brought his glaives down on the beasts head. Warlen was proud of his prodigy and showed him how to absorb the creatures energy.

Warlen then taught Tanavar the ritual to blind himself and sent him into the woods to use the energy he had taken from the beast to complete the ritual. Tanavar heeded his masters orders and went to the woods. He found a secluded spot far from the village and began the ritual. His screams could be heard all over the wood as he completed his ritual and lost his eyes.

When Tanavar had returned to his master the next day, he found their hut burned to the ground and his master lying on the ground, dead. The night before, Sentinels had finally found Warlen and killed him for a past crime. Warlen had killed a fellow Kaldorei centuries ago, before his training as a Demon Hunter. Warlen was convinced that the man was practicing the dark arts, though the man was not. Tanavar had nothing left in these woods and so he left, staying away from any Sentinels.

Tananvar was following reports of a Fel Hunter near Southvale when he was found by Sentinels, they watched Tanavar closely, recognizing what he was. Tanavar was not pleased with this and so when one of the Sentinels approached Tanavar, attempting to ask him about the reports of the Fel Hunter, Tanavar lashed out. The Sentinel was taken aback and reminded him that he should respect the Sentinels and what they stand for, Tanavar then spit on the Sentinel and cursed her for killing his master, though she had nothing to do with it. This caused the other Sentinels to attempt to arrest him an a fight broke out. Tanavar was able to kill one of three. He was forced to retreat, he set fire to the woods around him and set off in the confusion.

Tanavar then went into hiding, avoiding the battle of Mount Hyjal and as soon as he could, he went to the Eastern Kingdoms to make his way to the Outlands. He wanders around the Eastern Kingdoms in search of a way to get into the Outlands.
