Appearance

Seda is practically sealed within her Artec suit, for as little as she removes it. The armor is heavily reinforced and quite bulky, making removal a chore, assuming it is ever needed-- She wears a helmet habitually as well to fully disguise her nature as an undead, and often sports a pair of goggles beneath for use in tinkering and other facets of engineering.

The whole suit has a blue coloration; those with a keen eye might notice it to have been a Gnomeregan hardsuit originally, and the paint job is simply a modified version of that.

Other: Her gender is not readily apparent; both due to the bulky Artec suit, as well as the static which accompanies her voice when wearing the suit. As well, it also becomes difficult to discern her as a death knight, for similar reasons; many tend to assume that her voice is strange only due to the suit-- though of course, her unnatural strength is a telltale sign to any familiar with the bounds of such machinery.

Seda usually carries a large two-handed weapon, the largest of which are the size of the gnome herself. She usually keeps these in a holster along her back, or totes them over her shoulder.

Personality

Alignment: True Neutral

Most who knew Seda before her transition into undeath would simply say Seda has lost any traces of her previous personality. Indeed, the armor-clad gnome often has little to say, and when she does speak it often is both blunt and awkward-- usually phrased in technical terms, as if explaining actions or assumptions through the methodology of an engineer. Her voice is often a monotone, lending some to assume her to be some kind of advanced machine-- though she is quick to deny this, and seems unable to fully recognize her social ineptitude-- even though she does acknowledge that there is a chance that such exists.

Mechanical would be a good description for how she usually acts. Much of Seda's attitude is both an inability to fully recall emotion and shock and trauma from her time in the Lich King's service. Though she does not dwell on it the matter is still one which she find both unpleasant and haunting-- and though she does not hold herself accountable for those she killed while under the scourge's command, she still speaks remorsefully of them. While Seda is not wholly robotic in behavior, most find it difficult to actually elicit a more human response from her. In short, she's walled herself off from all but the closest of friends-- and most of those died with her, and never arose.

History

Seda Artec was born within Gnomeregan, the eldest child to a family of four. Being the eldest child she was taken under her father's wing to learn the craft of engineering-- from a young age she would assist her father in the lab, toting tools back and forth for him. While he wasn't a tinker of renown he was a meticulous one-- she learned to take in attention to detail more than any method of production or technique of design. It wasn't enough to complete a job, but to complete it to his standard. This led to a lot of time working over the burnt and scratched workbenches and lab tables, working and reworking facets of both her inventions and her fathers as she grew older. In the end this led to her having a rather non-existant social life, but she didn't seem to mind-- she would wake up, attend her classes, and then return home for a night of tinkering. Some might have called her obsessed, had she not lived in a city which basically revolved around technology and the tinkers which made it.

Seda's first true invention was actually her fathers-- he allowed her to complete the design on her own, and take the credit for it as a project for her, once she had come of age. The Artec suit was at first very rudimentary; a battlesuit of the Gnomish marines, retrofitted with healing potion injectors and other such devices to aid with travel in Dun Morogh's snowy peaks, and beyond. Seda had planned to leave home once the suit was completed, and with her father's help she was able to do so bearing her invention upon her shoulders.

Travel was an amazing experience for her; having been holed up within Gnomeregan for much of her life, it was a surprise to travel beyond the snowy land of Dun Morogh and see places such as Loch Modan, or Stormwind for that matter. Even in the excitement of travel though she found herself quite reserved, unable to find any companions to travel with, or make any acquaintances in the lands she visited. For some time she found herself just wandering and improving her machinery on the go; however, eventually she found her extensive travels leaving her low on funds. Having no real social skills to work with in terms of business she instead took to labor, being more capable for it than most gnomes with her suit now. She found herself finding jobs in lumberjacking, mining-- all tasks which left her fatigued at day's end, Though she preferred to spend such time tinkering, she had never been one to complain much either way. It was a job, and she was pleased enough simply to have a source of reliable income.

By the time the fall of Gnomeregan came, Seda was still a laborer, displaced from home in a work effort in Elwynn. News of the third war reached them long before word came from Gnomeregan; when she first heard though she took flight back to Ironforge, and was quick to come upon the evacuated refugees. For the first time she found herself frantically searching about for a trace of her family-- none was to be found among the exiles, though. Immediately she asked if there was anything that could be done-- if not for her family, then for her people. The response was rather simple-- fight.

Seda joined in with the Alliance military shortly after. Though she was not overly versed in combat, she took up some training alongside her engineering in case she were to be deployed. In her mind they would be in Gnomeregan shortly, clearing away both the troggs and the afflicted denizens which remained behind. It was only natural, after all-- it was the capitol of her people, after all.

Of course, in her clamor over aiding her nation, the woes of the Third War were somewhat... lost upon her. Never would she have expected instead to find herself dispatched to the plaguelands in efforts against the Scourge. She cooperated, though-- the call for action in Gnomeregan had to come eventually...

...Right?

It was a long time, in service to the Alliance's armed forces. While Seda's original intentions within the military were a past notion now, she had formed a close bond with other engineers of Gnomeregan over her time there. They joined for the same purpose, and together had seen their hopes slowly fade into the war effort with the Horde and the Scourge. Though it wasn't what she had hoped to find, it was enough to make her feel at home-- she could no longer return to her actual one, after all. With her introverted personality it was a bit odd being among familiar faces, but alongside the engineering division she at least found herself others to occupy her time while idle.

As the battle against the Scourge wore onwards, Seda and her compatriots largely remained unscathed. They were engineers, after all; not expected to be in the front lines, though Seda thought herself well-enough equipped for such. It was during travel that they found themselves beset upon instead-- following along with a caravan to Light's Hope, where they planned to lodge with the Argents until they could follow on with the rest of their contingent. While traveling by Corin's Crossing they found their wagons assaulted by ghouls, sent off-road and lured along into yet more of the scourge's beasts. Though they fought back, they weren't prepared for such an attack. And despite her suit or any training, Seda still was of little use against the oncoming horde of undead.

Seda awoke to a constant blare of alarms within her suit, her mind numbed and her body unresponsive. At first she was unable to understand what was happening-- why her vitals were being read wrong was the first query, though she was soon questioning how she was alive at all, after the fray she had been in. Once she saw the other death knights and the cultists at work around her though, she understood. She was handed a large axe by one of them, and sent forward.

By the time Seda was released from the service of the Scourge, she was all but fully retreated within her own mind. As soon as her compatriots of the Ebon Blade were allowed to roam free she departed without a word, finding a shelter to hide away in and contemplate her current situation. Eventually she began to repair her suit, and eventually she emerged. She spoke to no one on her trek back to Dun Morogh, though many raised a brow at the peculiar gnome, clad in heavy armor and wielding a mace that was a size comparable to her. She walked onwards until she reached the snowy mountainsides of the dwarven land, and with little clamor or commotion began to work just as she had before, albeit with an eerie display of strength and endurance for a gnome.

Since her return she has gone back to life as she remembered it prior-- at least, in a sense. She works as a laborer or mercenary as she travels about-- silently working for pay to finance repairs and modifications to her suit, or other objects of interest to her. In all honesty she has found herself rather lost, though-- unable to discern what she should do with her life, thus her return to a sense of normalcy, even if it is a facade. She has begun roaming farther and farther in her search for work, hoping to find some sort of purpose as she travels.

Skills and Abilities

Seda is not overly proficcient in the runecraft and various spells of Death Knights. Instead she excels in pure displays of brute force, her body made more enduring and empowered by her unholy strength.

Unholy Strength
Being a Death Knight (and with some aid from her suit), Seda's natural strength has been augmented greatly in undeath. Despite the small stature, Seda has the strength to lift and wield heavy weaponry with the prowess of a normal warrior of a taller stature. Her strength truly only extends to wielding weapons; though strong, actually hefting up larger objects would be too unwieldy a task, given her stature and heavy armor (so no grappling with orcs, in short-- it just wouldn't work).
Brute Force
Seda is only proficient in fist-based combat and two-handed weaponry when it comes to melee. She wholly lacks the grace or restraint to be effective with a smaller weapon, and will usually just resort to throwing the weapon or swinging wildly with it.
Artec Suit
A modified version of Seda's original Artec suit. The machinery is retrofitted for her new unliving state, and aids to augment her body in combat, both for endurance and strength. The suit also aids with survivability, having originally been a hazardous environment suit which was retrofitted into a battle-ready armor set by Seda in life.
