Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Typical Blood Elven fashions, or her Adept Chainmail.

Other: Sariella has a certain way about her that might suggest she was at one point a noble or at the very least trained to impress nobility.

Personality

Sariella, when approached as a Blood Knight, is often cold, calculating and uncaring for little but her people as a whole with little regard for the individual. She carries herself with typical military prose and stance, emerald eyes scanning her environs cautiously and suspiciously.

Of course this is simply a result of training and an act of professionalism and military pride. The real Sariella is, when stripped of her skin of chainmail, awkward and cherubic; a young inexperienced woman ignorant to the world outside her peoples lush woods never having experienced real bloodshed or even -rain-.

Sariella holds herself to a high standard, often refusing offers of promotion within her Order (of which she's recieved many) because she herself does not feel prepared. Sariella is her own worst critic, often berating her superiors for treating her too well. If Sari is ordered to run a lap of Silvermoon as a form of punishment, she will run two.

This high standard shows itself off in her attention to detail, especially in her craft and spell-work and less visibly the fact that she is at least familiar with all common weaponry - something Sariella insisted upon before accepting the rise to Adept within the Order. Sariella, despite being so capable, is also one of the Orders oldest members, only newer than the oldest by several months. Some people might even think Sariella refuses promotions because she is afraid of the responsibilities of a Knight, which would mesh well with her otherwise awkward and shy interior, but Sariella would insist it is simply because she is not ready.

History

Daerlina Azurehymn was a High Priestess of the Quel'dorei, commonly chosen to act as a representative of her people in times of peace and commonly chosen to act as a representative of the Light's wrath in times of war. When she met her husband, for the first time, it was on a trip to the Hinterlands with a tradesman called Carnesir Looseleaf. Both had been sent to represent their people. A year later, they married in Silvermoon. A year after that they gave birth to their daughter, whom wore her fathers dark bronze skin and her mothers autumnal auburn locks.

Sariella's childhood, at least before puberty, was typical of a child of her class. She was well fed, well trained and loved, by both mother and father, in a moderately decorated estate. Sariella was an intelligent and adorable child with a love for all things girly, and a girl-crush on the Prince, Kael'thas. As Sariella grew older and bigger, however, so did her body in places faster than most of her friends. This grew to be the subject of much slander towards Sariella - her peers suggesting Sariella's mother, a representative of the Quel'dorei, had infact slept with a human male and produced a Half Elf, explaining Sariella's figure. This was of course not true, but despite many warnings from parents and the Elders whom tutored the group of pupils in Sariella's home village of Windrunner, Sariella had recieved several beatings, and was pulled out of tutelage by her protective father, and encouraged to learn alone within the safety of her home.

So Sariella did, and would develop her skills in stitching and dresscrafting under the watchful eye of her mother. When she began crafting items of worth, her father happily sold them, passing the coins down to his daughter which she used to purchase more and more books and textiles. Sariella's crafts became somewhat of a minor hit in her home village amongst those older than her peers and Sariella had earned quite a name for herself. The First War came and went, her mother serving and making it back alive. Daerlina would begin teaching Sariella about the Light and the theory of spellcraft. Sariella was an intelligent girl and seemed to master simple spellwork but the faith of the Light eluded her, much to her mother's concern. This concern didn't last for long.

The Orcs came, destroying and burning everything in their path. Sariella's village was evacuated and the occupants ushered north into the safety of the northern woods but her home had burned to the ground, a wealth amassed by her father and mother lost. Sariella's mother would fight and again, live, through another war, but Sariella's tutelage would continue now, in Western Silvermoon proper - her parents wages able to afford to rent an apartment.

Now living in somewhat more meagre conditions, Sariella's life remained mostly unchanged, simply a slightly different shell surrounding her with which to close herself off from society. This troubled her mother and father but fearing for the kind of people Sariella would run into here, and knowing she'd be totally unprepared for city life being a village girl, they neglected to encourage her to explore things, and so Sariella failed to learn lessons that would aid her in later years. Sariella continued to sew her craft and she found it made her even more money within the city than it had in the village, even if the people could not appreciate the more expensive of her crafts, she made decent pocket-money selling simple commoners clothing up until the Third War.

When word reached north of the breakout of a strange plague in the human lands of Lordaeron to the south, Sariella's mother pledged herself to healing the sick and poorly lest this strange disease reach Quel'thalas. Little did Sariella know as her mother kissed her farewell, that this would be the last time the two should meet or hear of each other again. Sariella's father remained behind, jobless and dependant on Sariella's mother and months later, as the regular silver he had been receiving stopped, he grew callous and cold. He had become dependant on his own daughter to keep a roof over their heads and Sariella felt the pressure. For the first time in her life her only hobby became a burden and something she hated doing, and as the commitment to the war bled the pockets of Silvermoon dry and her father took to drink as a new partner, Sariella could not keep up. Sariella and her father entered poverty. Almost mercifully, however, they spent a simple few days in the gutter before they were joined by countless others of their kin when the Scourge came and left.

The following months were hardest on young Sariella. Forced onto the streets, left to scrounge for nourishment. Food helped but a thirst hungered in Sariella for more. A chance stroll through an abandoned alchemy shop piqued her curiousity. A stash of clearly labelled mana potions though bitter and unpleasant, aided her. She shared this with none, not even her father who had taken to drinking even more heavily and eventually died of his thirst for it, and as the Quel'dorei would discover, mana. Soon afterward, the discovery of Fel as an alternative to the reliance on Arcane energy was adopted by Sariella like much of the rest of her kin.

She lived like this for some time, scrounging what she could, living on the streets and keeping to herself. She did not properly mourn her father for neither the want nor the time was given to her. As the city was rebuilt around her, she lay in the gutter, until one day, a tall, imposing man grabbed her arm, and pulled her to her feet, roughly. Sariella squirmed, but could not free herself. Her eyes fixed on this mans tabard and then gazed up at him. This man, was a Blood Knight.

Sariella had been made, forced, though not violently to begin training as a Blood Knight. She'd never really complained. It kept her busy, off the streets and for the first time since the War she had copper to her name. She learned to discover the name of the Knight who dragged her off the street was Firenze Noro'alehur, a Master of the newly established Blood Knights. He'd chosen her, only her, to join the Blood Knights from those on the streets, because she seemed to be the only person who didn't cling to anyone else. Sariella was dragged to the Eastern Side of the City. The Western side of the city quickly fell to further ruin in the months ahead - those who remained there became the Wretched.

Sariella's training was slow and arduous, even artificially so, for Sariella pushed herself and kept herself to a standard above the others, as she always had. This wasn't due to her believing she was superior, but being alone for so long after and even before the war, had made Sariella introspective - the opinions of others whom did not otherwise grant her power meant little to her. This made her perform badly in teamwork exercises but exceptionally well in other matters, especially in the arts of Light-bending, applying theorems handed down by her Mother to her training.

Sariella had also adopted a new name; Tanu'belore - Sunblossom, as many of her people had. Sari's reasoning for choosing this name is kept to herself, but were anyone to find out, they would discover she named herself after a particular species of Peacebloom, a rare and exotic flower amongst the most common family of plants. When the sun hits the petals of a peacebloom just right, and the soil contains the right concentration of nutrients and mana, a Sunblossoming Peacebloom develops bright-pink radiating petals and an almost golden central disk. Sariella had been compared to this plant by one of the only males to ever compliment her, during her existence, long ago, and she'd ignored him. She decided to carry the name, now, in remembrance, but also, in establishing herself as a new person.

Her first trial, the trial of initiation, lead her to Western Silvermoon, her mission was to simply kill off as many Wretched as she could, and not quite as simply, to survive for a whole night, in her Initiates gear. She's said to have performed to an exemplary level but this event touched Sariella. The first men or women she would kill would be her own people.

Accepted as an Initiate, Sariella's duties took her to Ghostlands where she aided the new allies of the now Sin'dorei, the Forsaken and their Queen - the Ranger General of a Quel'thalas long gone in Sariella's mind. She developed further her skill with the Light here, finding her abilities most useful against the threat the Undead represented - she excelled where other Initiates and Adepts merely did well, her reliance on the Light burning through the Undead as a Knight would. However, her skills with the sword, though not forgotten since her training in the academy, did not improve. Regardless, because of her performance and her skill, she was offered a promotion. She refused. Her training continued. She got a little better at the Light, and not much better with swords. She was offered yet another promotion, months later, and again, she refused. Her Master was furious, but, brilliant. Sariella was sent on a special mission, a solo mission. Sariella was to recover the corpse and/or belongings of a defeated Adept, killed by Night-Elf spies within the Ghostlands. Her mission took her there, where she defeated several of the Night Elves and recovered a pack of her Knight-sister's belongings. She returned, weeks later, to her order to find her Master had been defeated in battle in the North, but had helped win the war against the Lich King. Sariella had also been informed that she had passed her Adepts trial, and was instructed to don the equipment she had recovered.

A lot of time had passed, and as a newly promoted Adept, Sariella rose in status in an Order that had already gone through a transformation. The Third War was a distant memory - the journey to Outlands a forgotten dream, Kael'thas a traitor, the Sunwell had been reborn, the North War in Northrend had been waged, the Forsaken betrayal forgiven, and a human Prince put to rest. All this, Sariella had missed as an Initiate, but she would witness more in the years to come, as an Adept. An Adept, she would remain, for now - her swordsmanship improving to warrant yet another promotion, to the rank of Knight - many offers, infact, but she declines them all - nowhere near ready compared to her own lofty, slow standards.

Despite being an Adept, Sariella is one of the orders senior members, having been in it only a few months after the Order's creation than even the Lady Liadrin.

Skills and Abilities

Blood Knight Training: Sariella's heritage has lead her to perhaps inherit some of her mothers capabilities with the Light. She is far above the average amongst her peers with regard to her capabilities and has been commended for exceptional performance against the Undead on the scar, the weakest of whom are often reduced to purified ash before they can reach her. Even against live foes these skills service her well.

However, her capability in melee leaves somewhat to be desired, and Sariella's swordsmanship has not progressed much since reaching the rank of Adept within her Order. A skilled swordsman whom reaches melee range in serious conflict would quickly challenge her defensive spells which she has come to rely on as a crutch. Her only advantage in this regard over most is that she is at least average in all common Blood Knight weaponry due to the extended amount of time she served as an Initiate of the Order.

Tailoring: Sariella trained and traded as a seamstress through much of her life before becoming a Blood Knight, known for delicate stitchwork and pleasantly flowing dresses. However, this is now mostly a hobby, unable to devote as much time to it now with her training as a Blood Knight. It is still capable of occasionally giving her a nice bonus to her already reasonable wage as an Adept.
