Often chooses his words very poorly, although he tries to do his best to be educated. When provoked, however, he won't regret fighting - that is, if he has a Turboshot Super Sniper Pyrogun at hand. If he doesn't have any useful invention at hand, he will most likely run away.

Always trying to make some money, Nigel won't think twice before making a big deal if he thinks the gold is worth it. That doesn't mean he doesn't have any sense of moral - he will make crazy stuff for money, but wouldn't ever hurt a defenseless child.

He is, however, loyal to his family and will always side with his two cousins, Bingles and Korque.

History

Nigel was born only a month after his cousin Korque, after the Second War, to a family of talented engineers. Since his youth, he showed he would be a great engineer and honor his family's title as the owners of one of the best arms manufacter company in the Alliance. At 13 years old, he played with bolts and cogs every time, crafting small gadgets for simple tasks.

But then, the war with the troggs began. His family was now needed more than any other time, creating weapons in a large scale to help fight the invasion in Gnomeregan. Nigel worked as a message boy for his father, working on his own projects when he could.

One day, as he delivered a few grenade boxes to a squad of Gnomeregan defenders, they were attacked by the troggs. Caught by surprise, the young Nigel was forced to get into the fight. As the others seemed to handle the main group of invaders, one trogg was able to sneak past the front line and engage Nigel in battle. Desperated, the gnome grabbed a wrench from the ground and smacked the trogg's head. With a sick crack, the monster hit the ground, and it breathed no more. "Hey, a solid hit, boy!", screamed the squad leader. "But if ya' think this is over, ya' better think twice and grab a shotgun! There's another group coming!"

Nigel turned around to face a band of particularly big troggs. "Oh, heck, isn't this unfortunate!", said himself. As the invaders advanced, he picked a grenade from a box he was delivering, lighted it and tossed it at the troggs. A fraction of second later, a loud boom was heard, as the grenade exploded on a trogg's face, leaving his corpse burning on the ground. But the situation was far from over. The waves of trogg raiders kept advancing, and many men fell, until they couldn't handle them anymore. Nigel and other 3 gnomes, including the squad leader, were the only survivors, and so they fled from the fight. As he got home, he found his family already preparing to leave. And so they packed everything they could, and fled from Gnomeregan.

Being able to buy a new home at Ironforge, his family began producing weapons once again. Three years later, at 17, Nigel was sent to Kalimdor to work in the Mirage Raceway as a mechanic. During his years of experience there, he tried to create a race cart himself, but failed in doing so. He couldn't work with such a large vehicle, and gave up on the project. He worked there for six years, and then left to work in Hearthglen with his cousin, Bingles, in an attempt to improve his engineering abilities. However, their other cousin, Korque, got into serious trouble with some of the city's residents, and that forced them to abandon the town through a portal conjured by Bingles, to Dalaran.

Recently, Nigel seems to have found a solution; as he couldn't work with large objects such as vehicles, he started crafting and selling miniatures and toys. His miniatures, however, were too realistic sometimes (the guards of Ironforge apparently didn't like it when his steam tank miniature shot a small bullet and crashed a window), and many people looked down on his toys. He moved his shop to Ratchet-on-the-Rocks, where now he still works on bigger projects, dreaming that one day he may grow in life and be a respected engineer.
