Information

Player: Mimloopen

Character Full Name: Lish Goldhandle

Character In-Game Name: Lish

Nickname(s): None yet

Association(s): Whoever hires her and to an extent the Alliance

Race: Human

Class: Mage

Skills and Abilities: Lish is just a mage who's trained most of her life in evocation and arcane magic, knows enough of abjuration to conjure basic wards and mana shields, and has recently started experimenting with transmutation. She has devoted a lot of time into working on spells that transmute her own body, giving herself supernatural reflexes etc. for as many seconds as she can sustain the spells.

Lish also often shows off a spell where she summons arcane shards to spin around the blade of her sword in a mock chainsaw, a spell she strived to master when her parents failed (see history). The blade is rather impractical to use in combat as Lish has no swordsmanship training, and she mostly just uses it to show off or when she's feeling sadistic.

Age: 27

Sex: Female

Hair: Changes her hairstyle every week or two because she likes to pretend she's still super young.

Eyes: Dull green

Weight: 60 kilos or so

Height: 1.76 metres, about average

Appearance

Lish has several outfits as she doesn't like to wear the same dirty clothes for days on end, although she is usually wearing some form of robe or a formal outfit. She often carries a rather typical short sword around with her.

Personality

Lish's personality is mostly driven by her mood at the time, she can range from being sweet and charming to swearing like a sailor. At times she exhibits traits of both her mothers fiery character and her father's much cooler and logical self.

While Lish often acts ditzy and innocent (and becomes a lot more ditzy under the influence of alcohol) with constant playful flirting and curious remarks about everything, she hides a (sometimes not very) secret sadistic side, delighting in the suffering or death of others, although she has never killed anyone herself. She is also quick to take the opposite end of whatever someone she doesn't like believes; if that person is crying over a dead friend, she will be cruel and callous, however if that person is apathetic then she will be indignant and demand respect for the dead.

In essence Lish, from the constant rejection and mixed messages of her parents as they told her to try harder and harder, is a very dominant character. Her life revolves around besting her parents at everything, and so she's incredibly overconfident of herself (in most areas), as well as bossy and quite manipulative.

History

Lish was born and raised in Dalaran by a pair of mages. Her mother was a hot blooded woman who was quite impulsive and violent, although she could hide it well. Her father was a much more calculated man, preferring to take things slow and to abstain from unnecessary conflict, spending much of his time arguing patiently (and playfully) with his mother, and studying arcane. Although the two seemed like polar opposites, they got along brilliantly, and were constantly trying to find new and not necessarily practical uses for magic.

When Lish was six they started bringing her into the world of magic too, naturally the parental tutoring at such a young age did not prove very effective. It was a little while later until Lish finally started mastering the basics of magic, casting her first minor spell at a remarkably young age. Her parents, far from being impressed, urged her onwards and pressured her to do more and more.

As the years went on they continued to urge Lish onwards, never satisfied with her accomplishments in evocation and control of the Arcane. She quickly developed into a stressed child and teenager who didn't socialize too well at school, too busy trying to perfect spells and invent new ones in a bid for her parents attention. No matter her inventions, however, her parents would barely glance at them before telling her to make something better. Sometimes they themselves went to decent lengths to weave a superior version of Lish's spell. This lack of parental sympathy and constant pushing while disregarding Lish's hefty accomplishments, too busy with their own magical advancement, left Lish a bitter teenager who was detached from her own parents, feeling as if she was living with strangers she didn't particularly like, but the urge to do better and better persisted. She stayed with them as the years went by, desperately trying to surpass them at any interval.

Her father was almost to be accepted as an archmage of Dalaran when the Third war began. Although her mother wanted to fight, she was eventually convinced and the three of them fled from Dalaran before it was destroyed by the Burning Legion. For several years thereafter they traveled from town to town, putting their talents to use if needed and continuing to work on their magic, never returning to Dalaran.

One night when her parents were drinking and experimenting with a spell designed to use arcane shards and a blade to mimic a chainsaw capable of cutting through all but saronite, Lish walked into her parents room to find them both dead with arcane shards lodged in their body and, assumably, their internal organs. Feeling only vague despair, Lish picked up the sword used in the failed experiment and swore from then on to devote all her energy into mastering the technique that had killed her parents, seeing it as the ultimate proof that she had surpassed them. During this time she abstained from all other evocative magic, and returned to Dalaran, where she met the mage Jihmo, who would teach her transmutation for over a year before she went off on her own to travel abroad. Although to Jihmo transmutation meant blinking and teleporting, Lish secretly believed it could be the key to immortality. After leaving Jihmo, she would travel to many places but mostly stay in Booty Bay, where she decided to offer herself as a maid and bodyguard to adventurous, rich people who needed her, in an attempt to see a more exciting side of life.

During the events of the Burning Crusade and the invasion and assault on the Lich King, Lish kept to herself and decided not to follow any potential master into Northrend or Draenor. Her involvement in the events extended to perhaps assaulting a few stray ghouls in her travels, but she stayed far away from them, preferring to continue practicing magic.

Lish would eventually master the technique of the arcane chainsaw to a lesser degree, with the weapon being able to cut through and damage armour of lesser metals but still causing damage by the force of several swings to those boasting Truesteel and the like. Far from filling the void in her heart that was her parents approval, however, it made her hunger for more. Now she travels the world, seeking to improve her magic and to best her parents in any possible facet...
