Appearance

Depends on whether she's on duty or not. If she is, she wears a set of plate armor issued by the Argent Crusade. If not, then fairly standard clothing for a Blood Elf.

Other: Slightly stockier than most Blood Elven women. Her eye color is fairly subtle: what people tend to notice about her first is the aesthetically pleasing shape to her face (pointed chin, small nose, and naturally happy expression.) She is rather proud of the fact she has black hair, as she considers it rarer amongst the Blood Elves than blonde.

The distinctive whitish scarring all along her left arm and hand indicate it was ripped apart at some point in time. Her left pinky and ring finger are also missing, but the cuts from them are entirely clean - suggesting it was from a different event entirely. She has a silver tattoo spreading across her torso and arms.

Personality

To strangers, Lene could easily be dismissed as an unsociable or snobbish person. Few would even recognize her as a paladin unless in the company of Arlyn - she tries to keep work and leisure as separate as possible. There are a few times she will go out of her way to speak to people (business, or story-telling), and it is only then that she will reveal her own special brand of charisma.

She is a very, very proper and diplomatic person, seeing white lies as being part of the fabric of society, and thus has no qualms about using them when she needs to (her lying is always confined to personal matters, not business ones). This helps form one of her most distinctive traits; she will rarely, if ever, tell anyone what she actually thinks and feels. If directly addressed about something she feels is too personal, she will simply change the subject and ask about the person who is questioning her instead.

Adventure and domesticity both appeal to her. In between adventures, she likes living a quiet life with a normal work schedule, and has many mundane hobbies: tailoring, herbalism, and a bit of enchanting being a couple of them. She also has the common Surus'ilamar interest in stargazing, and drinking lots (and lots) of tea.

History

Most of Lene's early life was spent in relative happiness in the city of Quel'Thelas. She was always one keen on the outdoors, displaying more interest in the nature than a Quel'dorei child reasonably should. She was always accompanied by her sport-hunting father on those excursions through Eversong, and she slowly developed a love for the hunt as well.

She was about fifty when she chose to study for the vocation of a mage, following in her mother's footsteps. As she grew more specialized in the trade and switched tutors for one specialized in frost magic. It was then that she met Sanya Dawnweaver, a fellow Quel'dorei and apprentice. Lene was fascinated by the clever, peaceful, silver-haired student.

The time that followed was one of the happiest times of Lene's life. She and Sanya spent time together every night, studying, talking, and just generally being friends. Lene couldn't have asked for more. They even became business associates of a sort after they both finished their training; both researchers in the field of Frost magic. Together, they conducted many experiments, created many new spells, and even learned to use their magical abilities in conjunction with bow (Sanya) and blade (Lene). Lene in particular enjoyed this change; she had been using a sword instead of a staff or wand for the entirety of her training.

The Siege of Quel'Thelas followed a few years later. Lene and Sanya had been out of the city for some task in a minor town. When they returned several days later, the city's defenses had been broken through.

They met a band of remaining elves on the city's border, about to embark on a mission of stealth - to kill as many Scourge as possible with fast-hitting, agile groups (the division of the groups was to also a preventative measure against 'putting all their eggs in one basket' ie; making sure at least some elves would return alive.)The two friends were assigned to different groups. While about half of Lene's group returned, exactly three of Sanya's did, and she was not amongst them. None of the three knew what had happened to her. She had simply disappeared.

In the days that followed after the Scourge left, most of Lene's time was spent searching the desolated City for Sanya. She found nothing. Gradually she came to her senses and helped with the efforts, after being disparaged endlessly by the more responsible members of the Quel'dorei survivors (and her mother, who had also lived.) And although she resisted the use of Fel for as long as possible, her will broke and she became a Blood Elf.

The capture of M'uru was a ray of hope to her. She volunteered as a trainee and underwent a rigorous several years of training, after which she as accepted as a full Blood Knight. She was sent out immediately to the Ghostlands with other troops to secure the remaining settlements from the Scourge. She spent almost a full year by herself while helping to clear the Ghostlands, favoring in particular some of the guerrilla tactics learned from her father. By the time she left, she had lost her left pinky and ring fingers to gangrene sustained by a wound to her hand.

She later wrangled passage to Outland, serving as a messenger to the Scryers from Silvermoon City. Although she doesn't talk about what happened during the months she was there, she looks on that time as a pivotal point in her life - more so than losing her beloved friend or becoming a paladin.

Over the course of a year and a half, her life has picked up at an almost unbelievable pace. In that span of time she's had countless adventures, served in the Argent Crusade, and - of course - found a partner in adventure worth spending her life with.

Skills and Abilities

She has the standard Templar abilities, specifics being that she 1. sacrificed some of her stamina in return for increased efficacy with Light, 2. learned how to banish demons and undead, 3. learned how to adapt all Holy spells to an offensive version, and 4. learned a different aura to increase damage output (sacrificing all other auras in the process.)
