Learah is specialized in the schools of Evocation and Conjuration. Although she prefers using Frost over Fire and Arcane, she has no trouble casting spells from those paths of Evocation. She is able to summon an Ice Elemental instead of a Water Elemental.

  • Mega Frost Nova - She can cast a stronger version of Frost Nova. Anyone who is near her will be pushed back from the force and will be frozen in place for a short time.
  • Family Teachings - Her family consisted of shipwrights, fishermen, merchants, and members of the military. They each have taught her some things from their profession. A few examples are sailing a boat, fishing, haggling, and sword fighting.

Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Laerah often wears green clothing to show her Kul Tiras pride when she's not working a job.

Other: She has a few minor scars on her arms and legs. There's a barely noticeable scar underneath her left eyebrow. Occasionally, she will wear big, thick, round glasses that hide her eyes from view.

Personality

Laerah is a warm, caring person and often seen as a motherly figure. She believes family is important and often keeps in contact with all of them. She is rather protective of her family and any threats against them are taken very personal. She also tries her best to support her family when they need it because they would do the same for her. Sometimes, family doesn't always get along, so she has gained a tolerance for things that would normally make someone angry. She is accepting of who people are, most of the time that is.

She is a pacifist at heart, defensively fighting against people who make themselves her enemy. She believes that everyone fights for a reason and knows that some people fight to keep their families safe. She does not want to be that person to hurt or kill someone and end up hurting their family as well because of what she did. She tries to slow people down, so she can make an escape for it.

She's a hard worker, always focused on what she's doing. Although, sometimes someone will caught her off guard, causing her to be clumsy afterwards from being startled. If she makes a mistake, she will feel guilty and try to correct it with interest. She seems enthusiastic when doing a job, smiling or humming a happy tune while doing so.

She has a great admiration for Jaina Proudmoore, sharing her views of peaceful contact with the Horde. She is defensive when Jaina is insulted, almost as much as when her family is threatened. She would even fight to uphold Jaina's name, but being a pacifist, she wouldn't. Though, that doesn't mean the person wouldn't get a harsh talking to.

History

Laerah was born in Kul Tiras, two years prior to the First War. She grew up with seven older siblings, mostly boys. The Rosales family was tight knit with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins living under the same roof. They consisted of shipwrights, fishermen, merchants, and members of the military. Despite the large family, she was not ignored, growing up with the love and comfort a family gives to their own. She was taught different things due to her family's many careers.

Although she was young at the time, Kul Tiras joined the battle during the Second War. Her family that was apart of the military were sent off to help. She worried about her family members that battled in the war, but of course the scary details of what was going on at the time were not told to her. In the end, her family members returned from the war, all alive. Some injured temporarily and others wounded for their rest of their lives. Yet, all that mattered was that they made it home safely.

While growing up, she began to admire Daelin Proudmoore's daughter, Jaina. She was in awe of someone about her own age being a daughter of the Ruler of Kul Tiras. Although they never had any contact with each other, she tried to follow in Jaina's foot steps. When she heard Jaina was sent to Dalaran to be an apprentice mage, she asked her family to send her too. While they were not able to provide her wish completely, they contacted a family friend to teach her to see if she had any talent for magic.

Surprisingly, she did quite well in her lessons, becoming the first Rosales to pursue a career as a mage. Eventually, she was enrolled as a student mage in Dalaran. Her family threw a big celebration the day before she left, reminding her to write letters when she had the chance. In Dalaran, she kept her head in her studies, trying to avoid having social life like some of her classmates had. She sent letters every week to her family, often getting gifts and a reply in return. She maintained her family bonds while trying to juggle her studies.

Sometime before Dalaran was destroyed in the Third War, she went back home to Kul Tiras to reunite with her family, luckily escaping fate. Her family comforted each other when they heard the news of what was going on in the world at that time. When she learned of Theramore, she decided she wanted to help Jaina in anyway possible, traveling to Kalimdor. There she was one of the few who did not feel ill towards the Orcs. Her loyalty to Jaina allowed her view of the Horde to be a friendly one. She saw that the Horde was not much different from the races of the Alliance, seeing that they too had families and reminded her of her own.

In Theramore she stayed, writing to her family in Kul Tiras like she did when she was in Dalaran. Some of her family even came to visit her on occasion. She continued to learn magic from what she could in Theramore. Despite hearing Dalaran being rebuilt in Northrend, she stayed in Theramore, feeling it was her new home now. She had already made friends with the locals and more, she didn't want to leave them to go all the way to Northrend. Besides, she didn't like the thought of snow and the cold all too much.

Within the last few years, her family started to fall upon hard times. They eventually split off, either moving to Theramore or Stormwind. She took care of the ones who decided to come to Theramore, giving them a place to stay. They still remained in contact whenever they could through mail. Then the letters from the family in Stormwind stopped all of a sudden.

The Shattering occurred not too long after the letters stopped. After Theramore was fixed, she volunteered to go over to Stormwind, seeing as how she could teleport between the two cities with ease now. When she arrived, she did not find her family in Stormwind, but in Westfall. They became poor like most of the citizens of Westfall. She put it upon herself to help them since her family in Theramore was doing fine without her.

Now, she tries her best to make money for her family residing in Westfall, so they can have a better life.
