In life, Langobard was noble, courageous, and full of valor. He was the picturesque Mountain King, loyal to the Stormpike clan and full of righteousness. In death, he has become lowkey and rather melancholy, lamenting the loss of his Titan gifts and the destruction he used to bring in service of the Scourge.

History

Langobard was born the only son to Neir Silvermountain, an aged Thane of the Stormpike clan of almost five hundred years. Neir soon passed away, leaving the throne of the family to Langobard at a young age. For the duration of his rule over House Silvermountain, Langobard himself had never married or sired children of his own. Early in his reign, the young thane lived an exciting, decadent lifestyle. He used to indulge himself in women and wine frequently, inviting many of his clansmen to join him at lavish parties.

As the decades passed on, though, Langobard found himself bored. He invested his time and riches then towards the Stormpike archaeology efforts in their homeland of the Alterac mountains. With his funds, many titanic finds were made, and Langobard himself decided to pursue the ways of the Avatars. To this end, he had become more than just a thane in name. He became a thane worthy of his ancestry, and of his father. Langobard was pleased with this, and he flexed his titanic powers frequently against the neighboring trolls that tried to raid his family's dig sites. Once the Stormpike clan came across the hidden away Frostwolf tribe of orcs, he took great pride in fighting them, as well, as he was all too familiar with the savagery of orcs from the Second War.

In time, though, Langobard found his life lacking purpose. He had lived lavishly, he had fought valiantly, he had destroyed the enemies of his people, and had achieved Titanic enlightenment. Yet still he felt empty. He sought out the Argent Dawn as they established themselves in the plaguelands, and had an epiphany. This is where he would make his mark on history, on the world, for his family name, and his ancestry. He would do battle with the scourge till they were no more in the world. To face the most evil of enemies the world has ever seen would be the most worthy way to find fulfillment in his life!

For a time, this was satisfactory for the Thane. He battled the Scourge daily, unrelenting and untiring, pleased with his direction in life. At long last, he had true purpose, a true calling! But as with every tale of a hero's rise, comes the hero's fall. The Scourge mounted an attack on the Argent Dawn's supply caravans, a simple raid. Langobard answered the call to rescue the entrenched crusaders, fighting against numerous Scourge forces almost single-handedly. As the Dawn's forces made an escape, Langobard was determined to ensure that they would be safe. He pushed into the undead ranks, straying far from the survivors, holding the Scourge's attention. He held it -too- well.

Reinforcements from the plaguewood arrived, among them much more powerful minions such as abominations and nerubians. Langobard used all his might to fight them back, but he all too late realized his folly, and was surrounded and overwhelmed by his foes! He fell... but it was not the end he thought he'd have.

High above the plaguelands, the Lich King had stationed a new necropolis... Acherus. Langobard's body was taken to the fortress, along with many other fallen crusaders of exceptional ability. He was risen into undeath as a horrific Death Knight of the Scourge! He was among those who raided the Scarlet fortresses and towns, helplessly murdering innocent lives to and fro as a tool of evil. It was not until the revolution at Acherus, where the Death Knight commanders overthrew their masters and took the necropolis as their own, that Langobard came back to his own. Disgusted and ashamed of what he had become and what he had been used for, he departed the plaguelands without a word. He has lost everything in undeath: his friends, his home, his heritage, and his honor, and filled with this unholy desire to destroy and mangle everything he comes across. He was an abomination... but even abominations can still make right. Langobard will absolve his sins, regain his Titan heritage, and become a Thane of honor once more! The Scourge wanted him to destroy all he came across? Then they will learn to regret their choice, for if a Blood Thirst must be quenched, it shall be done against the tormentors who made him what he is. Northrend is rife with relics and secrets, and there just so happens to be plenty of Scourge in the way of reaching them... his path is now set before him.
