Head of House: Thane Thidlynn Ironbraid

How did the family rise to nobility? Give a bit of a summary here as to how the family rose above the rest to be deemed nobility? Did an ancestor sacrifice himself for the ruler of the time and this was the reward for the surviving family? Forged documents from ages ago that prove some sort of claim? Detail this as much as possible.

The story of the Ironbraid Clan starts with her grandfather, Reigndig, a warrior from the War of the Three Hammers. Gifted an iron band by his wife to wear in his hair, the token of affection would come to later save his life. During one pitched battle, Reigndig lost his helm, and the Dark Iron he faced was poised to make the kill. The enemy had been weakened in the fight, and his axe had been blunted, so his weapon did not cut through the iron band at his neck's side. His life was saved, and he gained the name Ironbraid as a result, but the axe did damage his neck for the rest of his days, causing him to live in great pain and to wear a brace to steady his head. Reigndig was given the honorary title of Thane and a small plot of land on a cliff overlooking Dun Morogh.

How does the family sustain its wealth? How does the family not fall to ruins with over-spending, what is their source of income?

Kangrid Ironbraid inherited his father's land, and through harsh discipline and rigorous trade in furs and ores, expanded his land and wealth. However, the Orc invasion of Azeroth depleted and destroyed most of their assets, and so they limp forward at current with their industries.

What sort of assets does the family have? How big are the lands? What sort of structures are on said land? Do they have a guard force? Personal army? Fleet of ships? If an asset is not listed, it cannot be claimed, however a PD can be posted later asking if a new asset can be added.

They currently have the same land plot, though the number of people living on the land excluding the sisters and their man-at-arms has dwindled to around 20 peasants and 5 guards. They have 6 riding rams, and no ships or army.

What is the family known for? Is the family a group of cruel tax collectors that works their servants like dogs? Are they a military family the produces fine soldiers who rise in rank quickly? Magic users? What makes them known?

They are known for being hard, nearing cruel. They have successfully hid evidence of their crimes, but the rumors are still strong. Most people would be willing to do business with them, but not establish personal relations.

How old is the family? How long has the family been nobility?

The family was established in both name and title directly after the War of the Three Hammers, so for around 240 years or so.

What can be obtained by creating a new family over joining one already in existence? Simply put, what does this family bring that isn't provided by others? Activity is not an acceptable response. Note: Noble Families already approved do not need to answer this question.

Dwarf noble houses are sparse. Adding a new house serves multiple purposes. The first is to promote Dwarven RP that isn't military-based. The second is to create a dynamic between Dwarven houses where economic RP can be fostered, as well as between noble houses of other races.

Is the family open for members to join? If so, let them know how to contact you here as well as what you're looking for.

Once the casting of the sisters and the master-at-arms is finished, there will still be openings for advisors, guards, and anyone living on the land. I am available via forum PM, skype (phoenixrizin2k), and in-game on one of my legion of characters.
