Brief summary of the Clan

The Broadhill Clan is a rarity amongst the Dwarven Clans. It, during the War of the Three Hammers, was split between the Wildhammer and Bronzebeard sides. While the two sides have reconciled, both the Village and the Manor maintain their individual cultures. Tarin Broadhill is the current acting Thane of the Broadhill Clan. However, he has taken a very relaxed position, and has a Steward handle all but the most important decisions. In the Wildhammer Village, this Steward is instead the Elder.

The Clan's rise to Nobledom

The family, even before the War of the Three Hammers, was known for it's statue making. They ultimately gained nobility by crafting the King, at that time still an Anvilmar, a magnificent statue of Stone and gems and unveiling it before him on his birthday. Legend holds that the king was so surprised and delighted that he granted the family nobility then and there. However, in truth, they had to do similar for many of the Noble houses before a vote was successfully brought before the Senate, and the family granted nobility.

The Clan's Business Plan

The family has long been known for it's skill in creating statues, and working with stone in general. While this is nothing special for a Dwarf, the family works with incredible speed and precision, managing to create a full-sized, decent Dwarven Statue in roughly a week.

The family has taken this skill with statues and applied it to Golems, taking necessary secrets to undercut the Dark Iron competition in this sector. Many Dwarves are looking for a better source of Golems than the untrustworthy Dark Irons, and the family is happy to provide. While getting a foothold in this Dark Iron dominated sector was challenging, the family has managed well.

The family owns a good deal of untouched land, through which they occasionally extract lumber and furs.

The Clan's Assets

The Manor, or as it's sometimes called, the Broadhill Mead Hall, is where Thane Broadhill spends the majority of his time. This area is where the Broadhill Clan gets most of it's gold from. Through a mix of Statue and Golem making, as well as lumber and fur extraction, the family manages to pull in a sizable amount of gold monthly. In the manor itself, there is a large amount of housing for the mixture of Gnome and Dwarf workers. Below the Manor, there is a large cavern, from which stone is carved to later be turned into statues or golems.

Broadhill Peak, named after the Peak that it's built around the base of, is where the majority of the Wildhammer-based Broadhills live. The majority of the clan's fighters are from this village. Coupled with a nest of Gryphons nearby, and the village has little trouble producing generation after generation of fierce Gryphon Riders. The more docile Gryphons are used for transportation of either material or people. Lastly, the village also provides the manor with spiritual guidance, as well as Shamanic healers.

Broadhill village is a small village located on the cliffs between the Broadhill Manor and the Ocean. Although this village is barely aligned to the family, it still provides food in return for the land that it rests on. Beyond this deal, the village is sovereign. They do not pay any heed to the Manor, nor the Manor to it. It is only in the most desperate of times that the village will petition the Broadhill Clan for help.

The family's martial forces are currently based about Broadhill Peak. They consist of the village's wealth of Gryphon Riders, with Golems on the ground and a small force of Mercenaries to bolster the Golems. There are a few Bronzebeard fighters that stay at the Manor constantly, although they are negligible compared to to the force at Broadhill Peak.

There are tunnels linking the Manor to both Ironforge and the nearby farming village. The family also holds a seat on the Ironforge Senate. The family has a small collection of heirlooms. One of these is the Axe of the Thane, which is the axe that Tarin currently uses. There are a few other odds and ends, like a saddle, a tankard, and a chisel, but they sit below the house's manor, gathering dust.

The Clan's Reputation

The family, as mentioned beforehand, is quite known for it's speed and skill in creating statues. It's also known as a prime example of peace between the Wildhammer and the Bronzebeard clans, with all the young ones of the family spending a good amount of time in both clans while growing up. Lastly, the family is also known for it's friendliness towards all Alliance-based Races.

The Clan's Ancestry

The family has been nobility since before the War of the Three Hammers. During the War, the family schismed between the Wildhammer and Bronzebeard families. Shortly afterwards, the family reconciled. The two sides of the family have formed under one leader, as long as it is a variating marriage. If one's father takes a Wildhammer wife, the son must take a Bronzebeard wife. As well as this, all children must spend their childhood in a mixture between both clans.

The Clan's Traditions

The death of a Thane has various different paths, depending on which clan the Thane led. Within the Broadhill Clan, the death was celebrated by the creation of a statue depicting the fallen Thane. The corpse, if retrievable, was placed within the statue. If not, then the statue was left with a hollow center in honor of the Thane. These statues were placed in the primary hall of the House. The Clan had a plaque then bolted, telling the basics -- who the Thane was, when he'd ruled, and that who led the house after he died. Tarin's first act as Thane was to circulate through the Hall and honor each statue. After this was finished, he officially became the Thane of the Broadhill clan.

Membership

It is. I'm not going to create a guild, but I'd be glad to have a son or daughter.

Currently, the two members of the household are Tarin and Ural.
