Other: Bree has a rider's build- sturdy, with strong thighs and a toned upper body. Her upper arms are well muscled. Some people she has met have disapproved of her physique, saying she isn't feminine enough.

Personality

Bree is a kind, friendly woman. She has a strong personal sense of morality and will help any ally she sees in need. Things are very black and white to her; there are very little ambiguities or shades of gray. She has become disillusioned with the actions of the Alliance. She believes that ancestral locations like Lordaeron should be retaken. She would like to see the Alliance organize a serious effort rather than taking potshots here and there (as she sees it). She doesn't believe in killing indiscriminately, especially for a religious cause, but she does think that retaking old homelands is a cause worth fighting for. It especially bothers her that the Forsaken continue to inhabit and defile once-beautiful Tirisfal.

History

Breveth Steadman was born to horse farmers Devon and Matthias Steadman during a move from Goldshire to Lordaeron. Elwynn was being invaded, and her parents fled to Lordaeron with other refugees. Her native town of Goldshire was destroyed, as was Old Stormwind. When the vicious Horde turned its attention to Lordaeron, the family escaped, taking 8-year-old Breveth and her 14 year old brother Jeremy with them. Jeremy, who was bent on retaliation, bought used armor and a sword when he came of age and left the family to take the fight to the enemy. Breveth, with her sense of morality and outrage at the pillaging of her homelands, asked to be sent to train as a Paladin at the age of 12. Her parents were glad to oblige, although it cost them most of their small savings. They decided she would be safer there than trying to find refuge in the war-torn Kingdoms. That was the last Breveth saw of her family. While she was in training, she occasionally received mail from them, but at age 23, as soon as she was competent enough to contribute to the war, she was sent out to fight. Mail to the battlefields was spotty at best, and so the letters stopped. Breveth fought for the Alliance for 4 years, but she became frustrated with what she saw as cowardly, hit-and-run tactics. She advocated a full-out assault on the enemy with the goal of regaining Lordaeron and other ancestral human lands.

When the most recent plague was released, Breveth (who, being a Paladin, was immune to disease) took her lance, sword, and warhorse and left the service of the Alliance corps of Paladins. She traveled on her own and killed as many undead as she could find. In the overall picture, her contribution was insignificant, but she felt that she was making a difference. In the aftermath of the plague, Breveth traveled Elwynn and Westfall, helping those in need. There weren't many survivors, and she was faced with a lot of down time.

One rainy morning, she came across an eerily silent farmstead. She swung down from her charger, who was snorting and blowing nervously. Breveth left him at the edge of the fields and approached the farmhouse. She knocked on the door but was met with only more silence. She slowly swung the door open and was overwhelmed by the unmistakable stench of rot. She was sure she already knew what had happened, but investigated further just to be sure. She found the farmer and his wife lying dead in each other's arms, still fully clothed. A small glass vial lay on the floor nearby, evidence that they had poisoned themselves rather than submit to the ravages of the plague. An infant lay in a crib nearby, its decaying body showing lesions and boils of the disease. Flies were everywhere, and the skin clung to the bodies like parchment. Breveth shuddered and murmured a quick blessing of the Light, and solemnly left the farmhouse. She heard quiet, nervous whickering as she approached the stable. Inside, she found a stallion and a mare who was quite obviously in foal. They were terribly emaciated and Breveth wondered about the fate of the unborn foal. After giving the two animals a hefty portion of grain, she took all the tack from the barn, packed it on to her charger, and strung the two horses along behind him. Breveth was pleased that they regained their weight and health quickly. They had probably been a bit light for plow horses, but they had strong legs and plenty of bone. They were both intelligent and willing to work, and would make good chargers or light dray horses. The mare finally dropped her foal and thankfully it was born alive and well. Breveth kept the three of them and has been living in the forests of Elwynn and the surrounding area. She has set herself up as a small-scale horse breeder. She introduces herself only as Bree, and makes no mention of her career as a Paladin. She so dislikes the politics of Stormwind that she prefers to help people in her own way, however she can. She knows she cannot mount a one-woman assault on Lordaeron, so she channels her energy elsewhere.
