Personality

Anithrandil doesn’t seem to care about anyone or anything. Made for damage and destruction, this is what he enjoys doing most. Even though he appears to be a jerk to everyone, he loves his family and always puts them on the first place. Anithrandil has a fondness of explosives and carries at least three ready bombs with him. He rarely takes anything seriously and often sings random songs during fight. Should someone prove to be his ally, or more importantly, his friend, he is willing to give his un-life for this person. He is highly protective of people who recently became parent or are soon to become a parent.

History

Born in Quel’thalas in a moderately-sized merchant and crafting family, Anithrandil grew up learning the trade of blacksmithing and the art of sword combat. While his family went away on trips to human kingdoms, Anithrandil stayed behind, never being able to trust humans.

At the young age of sixteen he saw a small explosion in Silvermoon, a magic experiment which went wrong. Anithrandil was impressed and started practicing making bombs in secret and often outside of Silvermoon, in Eversong Forests. He read up on how to make bombs using only the most basic supplies, often found in the forests. He scavenged together what he was capable of gathering in the forests and bought certain supplies from merchants, often using a disguise to look older.

When the First War came, he didn’t pay attention at all, remaining focused on his blacksmithing, sword fighting and secret bomb making. The Second War was different. Anithrandil signed up as a blacksmith for the Alliance armies. His skill great and every sword he made sharper than the previous one.

After the Second War, he returned home and continued his arts as he liked to call them. He sold weapons and armors he made in his forge until the Third War. Anithrandil couldn’t care less, his arts were most important to him, or so he thought. Before the Scourge arrived to Silvermoon, Anithrandil’s father took him and his family on a surprise holiday.

During the time away, a feeling crept over Anithrandil and his family. The feeling became stronger as time went on and the family was forced to return home. When they returned, Quel’Thalas had already fallen to the Scourge. With the Sunwell fallen, the Elves’ addiction became apparent and Anithrandil had no choice but to turn to the Fel to deal with his new addiction.

Anithrandil, overcome with anger towards the Scourge and grief of friends he lost signed up with an expedition to Northrend, without a word to any member of his family. On the boat to Northrend, he got the names of his family tattooed on his arms to remind himself what he’s fighting for. Once arrived on Northrend he met a female Blood Elf. The two quickly fell in love and decided to marry almost immediately, who knew how long they had to live? For Anithrandil, the answer was not long. A week after his marriage a vast army of undead appeared almost out of nowhere. Anithrandil fought for his life; alas the army of undead was too vast and endless. Anithrandil turned and looked at his new wife. The last thing Anithrandil said:”Run!” His last sight, his wife running away, his last feeling, a sharp pain in his back that felt like it took a hundred years to end.

He awoke in the Acherus Hold a while later, a slave to the Scourge but not rotting. He was now a Death Knight. Where-ever the Hold went, he went, killing, murdering and pillaging all for the Scourge. He fought alongside many other Death Knights and slaves of the Scourge. He knew all that happened and all the killing did not only kill the living but also his emotions.

During the battle for Light’s Hope Chapel, Anithrandil saw his wife, still on the side of the Crusade. They fought for a while, her trying to get him to become his own self again. Anithrandil didn’t listen and struck her down. After the Lich King’s defeat at Light’s Hope Chapel, Anithrandil managed to free himself along with many others. Devoid of emotion and lacking much of his memory, he returned to Northrend in search of the one of the few memories that stayed with him the entire time, his wife.

Never having been able to find her, Anithrandil suspects she has died. After spending years in Norhtrend, Anithrandil decided to hunt his other remaining memories and his old hobby, making bombs. Now, he is a lost soul, trying to find purpose, and most importantly, fun in his life.
